Secured my ticket as well!

So, as most people agreed in the other thread, unless the venue is moved, and if the weather permits we'll start gathering on the day of the gig in Barnard park. We'll have to think up some cool activities and stuff, so feel free to throw out ideas!

Meeting in Bernard Park sounds good. I should be off from university then, but last week of term won't be that important anyway I hope.

Anyone else here who would've loved to see them at Koko in Camden? I know it's waaaaay too small but the atmosphere in there is amazing and the whole venue always seems to scream X at me lol

Aw, I'm sure you'll find a ticket one way or another Yu~Kun. And if everything fails there's always ebay :s

the might relocate to Shepherds Bush empire as stated in the first post. If that is the case there will be more tickets available at some point. And I'm sure some people will resell on ebay which will be expensive but if it's the only way it might be an option.

I'm pleased they're all sold out for X-Japan!

Though I hope they do change the venue to a much bigger one so more people can buy a ticket! I'd love to see them at KOKO. My first time at KOKO was for Dir en grey last year, was impressive :)

Wow, loads of German people coming to London. Gonna be great to speak German again for a change ;D

I've only been to one concert at Koko (Patrick Wolf=amazing) but loads of club nights with small bands playing. You just gotta love that!

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=x+japan+london&_sacat=See-All-Categories (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=x+japan+london&_sacat=See-All-Categories)

Of course  ::)
I hate people who do these things. Buying the tickets cheap and then reselling them for exorbitantly high prices. Happened to me with another gig in London  :-\

Amazing news to hear it sold out so fast, shows that the UK loves X Japan more than their managers thought we did!

On the downside, though, and on a VERY selfish note, I was looking forward to seeing them play an 800 seat venue, given that it would be the smallest X Japan show since like before Vanishing Vision?

Anyway, I got my ticket via the pre-sale and I'll be going down. I'm very excited for this. Finance permitting I may goto the Paris show, too.

Is the gig sold out? I just checked, and it says general tickets are on sale, but if you try to buy them it says that they're not on sale at Ticketweb. Is this just a glitch or something?

It seems there are now more tickets because they opened levels 2 and 3 as well.
I remember that earlier those levels weren't available yet.
When I ordered last friday, levels 2 and 3 weren't available for me.

They were available when I ordered on Friday. I could chose between Levels 1, 2 and 3. And later on that day that I had to book for a friend I could only chose between 2 and 3...

I was on ticketweb more or less instantly after the upgrade, and there were no standing tickets available. From what I've seen, O2 Academy Islington only has one level, so it makes sense that those tickets would be upgraded to standing when the venue changed.

I'm surprised there are still tickets left, the Islington gig was sold out pretty much instantly. I personally would've preffered Islington as i've been there for a few Jrock gigs and their security really knows what they're doing, I emailed Shepherds bush with a queuing question and it seems like they're underestimating the fans *gulp*.

Do you mean how O2 Islington said no queueing until a few hours before the show because they know how crazy some fans are? Haha. I read that and it made me laugh, when I went to see them in new york there were people camping outside the gig THREE DAYS BEFORE IT STARTED! Crazy!

Yeah, I emailed Shephards Bush and they said they didn't expect anyone would start queuing until after midday! the last gig I went to was Gackt and people had been moved on for camping outside the venue, so they came back at midnight on the day to start queuing.

The longest queue i've ever heard of was when Yoshiki posted on his myspace about some fans for an American Jrock gig queuing 2 weeks in advance O_O

I bet pretty much all of those fans were girls. It was when I went to NY. All fangirls. I was going to queue around midday but ended up going to comic con again until 3pm, walked to the gig and got some food, started queueing at around 4pm, when we did get in we went straight to the merch stall.. and we STILL got a great view. I didnt want to be too close to the front, you cant move at all and you get pushed around too much. I prefer to stay back a bit so i've got a great view but still got breathing room :D

Fangirls can get pretty bad, personally I like queuing for a good few hours to meet people, see the band arrive etc. but the behaviour inside the venue is a different story, a bit of pushing and shoving is fine but when they're actually trying to injure the person in front of them to get a better position, ugh.

I know what you mean.  Had one fanboy who was really tall push me so hard with his rucksack at Gackt's gig last year in Islington Academy I ended up being pushed into other fans :/

I've been tempted to stand right in front of the stage at SBE.  I do want a good view and to able to take good pics or record vids.  Last time I was in the stalls, very close to the stage at said venue I survived (the fans did jump now and then to the music though at safe distance so I could breathe) but I'm not sure what to expect with this gig so will most likely stand a bit further back in the stalls.  I will definitely queue early, maybe around late afternoon...

Dont worry about not receiving tickets yet guys, you probably won't receive them until the week of the concert, the websites tend to say to contact them if you haven't received tickets by 48 hours before the date.

This is only for the UK tho, dunno how European ticket sites work.

Heathrow is a few underground stops away to the venue, so if possible, i would recommend this one.

Heathrow is most convenient although most cheaper airlines only fly to Gatwick and (if you're coming from Germany especially) Stansted. Both are pretty well connected although Gatwick is a little bit closer to central London. If you wanna save some money buy bus transfers in advance. You can get them from easybus starting at £2 (although you're more likely to pay ~£5).
If you're not in a rush don't get the Stansted/Gatwick express trains. The return tickets are about £30.

I'm curious what the ticket levels are? I was only able to choose level 3 unreserved standing/seated (even after the venue upgrade), but I've seen people getting other types after that

Thanks for the information. And yeah, Gatwick and Stansted seemed to be a lot cheaper.

When I got my tickets I was allowed to chose between 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor but not ground floor. A few hours after that though when I booked for another friend of mine I could only chose between 2nd and 3rd floor.

For the record I got my tickets this morning, so they should be rolling them all out now.

EDIT: heh, mine is the O2 empire ticket.
EDIT2: Just a thought, sanorin, your ticket just says general admission and seat, so doesn't that mean you'll be able to choose any tier, any seat? Whearas mine says level 1 unreserved, seat. I'm just saying I know your face don't steal my seat heh. (Joking). Though I just hope they have done this venue transfer correctly and no one gets dissapointed.

I asked O2 Islington Academy about this as I got my ticket when the gig was on sale at that venue and they said the GA tickets will allow you to stand in the stalls only.

Personal preference really unless you're one of those people who wanna be right up next to the stage, I got lvl 1 seats because I wanna sit down and I prefer being higher than the stage (even though I'll probs be standing alot anyway) The venue isn't that large anyway so we will all get a fair view.

I asked Seetickets about the ticket delivery, and their answer was:

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, we're unable to get tickets to you
by the date of the show. We are advising you that your order will be
available for collection from the venue box office at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
on the day of the performance from 1900 hours."

And I live in Finland. In the mail there were also some instructions on collecting the tickets. But I'm confused, cause 1900 hours is the time when the doors open for X, and it'd be nice to have my tickets by then... :o

I don't know how it is handled in the UK, but in Germany they are pretty picky about cameras during concerts of japanese artists. On another note, it didn't look as if it was a problem during the US/Canada-Tour.

My ticket was bought via Seetickets and I too haven't received it yet, even though it was ordered on that Friday when the sale started.  Hopefully we'll get them in the post soon *crosses fingers*

I rememeber when Gackt was in London we weren't allowed to use cameras to take photos (some fans were very sneaky though).  Staff were very strict and kept a close eye on everyone from upstairs.

I think cameras are ok in general, unless it's stated very firmly by the venue that it's not permitted at all.  It would be a shame if we were not allowed to take photos of X Japan this coming tour because I want to capture them during their explosive performances.

Contact them and ask if they shipped the tickets. I had that same issue with the Utrecht-tickets where they were sent back, after the german postal-service said 'Yeah, adress is wrong.' (what was bullshit by the way). So maybe yours where also sent back.

Usually the camera policy is listed on the venue page but I can't seem to find anything. I've emailed the venue about cameras and i'll post here when they reply.
Of course if they do say no some people choose to be sneaky and take a camera, thats everyone's choice but you do risk being kicked out of the gig. I dunno how strict security's gonna be at this venue but security can be very strict at Jrock gigs so it's better to err on the side of caution.

Also- think I mentioned this further up but I emailed seetickets a couple of weeks ago and they said they don't usually dispatch tickets until the week before the gig.

Also Also- I hope no-one thinks i'm being a know-it-all, just trying to make myself useful, let me know if I get annoying  :P

Before the venue change they were saying not to line up until a few hours before the concerts starts, or you may not even be allowed into the concert, I would assume it still applies with the venue change. Since the concert starts at about 7:30 we're propably going to all be walking around London all day till the concert. I think its Hypno who said we should all meet in a park near the area, is that still on?

Also now that I think about it, if Japanese Voyeurs are an opening band that we're supposed to be there for we'll have to line up a lot earlier.

O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London on 28/06/2011.

Please note early queuing or camping outside O2 Shepherds Bush Empire or in
the surrounding area is expressly forbidden. Anyone queuing / camping outside
the premises or in the local area prior to 10am on Tuesday 28th June will be
moved on, and possibly denied entry to the concert.

I don't know how the seating system works I havn't been to a concert before, but we have floor tickets I don't think we have to arrive early, they'll seperate those with floor tickets into a different group or something?

Aww to be fair regardless of which country they are from, any fan can be ruthless when you least expect it ^_^;; I have had some international people as well as Brits get on my nerves at some of the gigs I've been to in London.

Yeah just re-skimmed this thread.  drained shared some info from the venue a few posts up in regards to queuing very early or camping outside before 28th June.  I don't know how early they'd let you queue though.  I mean normally I start queuing for an unreserved seating or general standing gig 2-3 hrs before the doors open.

Camping out in Shepherd's Bush Common is a sh*t idea to be very blunt.
It's not the nicest or safest area you can imagine and I sincerely doubt the police are gonna be very happy about it.

Does anyone know when we can collect the tickets at the venue? I chose not to have it delivered because of my current living arrangements...Can I get them beforehand or just on the day itself?

Every jrock gig i've been to people have tried to camp, it seems the venues are really cracking down on it now, which is a good thing, tbh. I think queueing from early in the morning is one thing but camping out all night has serious risks.

I'm happy to meet up before 10am and all queue together, i'm going on my own so it'd be amazing to meet other X fans! :)

It seems there's no plan between any of us to meet at a certain time anywhere, I guess we're all just planning to meet up in line at the venue whenever?

There should be, although they usually charge.

But I don't think it's fair for people to queue-jump if that's what you're suggesting?

And there is a cloakroom for sure.

Or so I hope, very strongly. :P

Hmmm that aside... I think Sander is taking an X Freak flag with himself anyway. And the people of the forum who work in Xplosion will wear team-shirts so you can reconize us at least. XD Feel tree to say hi if you see us. :P

I cant say for sure, but when I went to the new york show, I had to choose box office collection as international shipping was not an option. The order confirmation did say collect at the doors at 7pm (which is when the doors opened) however when we arrived there (around 2pm), they had the front door open for box office collection so you can go in and get your tickets but had to get out once you had them. It may be the case at this concert but I dont know for sure. If not, the best thing to do is if you are with a friend, get them to hold your place in the line while you collect the tickets. Its not queue jumping if you were already waiting :)

Really hope it's gonna be the same as New York, if not I'll hopefully meet people that are nice enough to hold my place while I'm getting the ticket. Gonna be there by myself unfortunately.

I don't think you're going to catch the last train, the venue opens at 7:00 and we have to see an opening band before X even comes on, it'll probably be 10:30-11:00 before the concert ends.

Thanks! Actually if 11:00 is maybe the latest it might work for me there's a coach leaving from London Victoria at 11:30. But I don't know how much walking around London at night I want to do on my own or running the risk of missing it.

Is anyone planning on just going to the station and waiting all night for the first morning train/coach? I've done it before, just not on my own or in London, but I think if it's in a group it should be fine.

Gaah, I'm soo exited and nervous and aaaargh, I just started packing for London and my stomach is full of butterflies... I'm not sure what time we'll be at the venue but quite early, at least to check the concert goods. I think I might do some kind of name tag -ish and attach it to my bag If I have time. I think the best way to recognize me is my tattoo ( pic (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v712/ashurasan/IMG_0008.jpg) ) on my left arm, come to say hi. :'D And here's (http://i55.tinypic.com/de9nyd.jpg)  another pic where you can see my face. :D Really fresh pic, taken 10 minutes ago.

See you at Shepherd's Bush! :)

As long as you'll stay at the train station and not some dodgy places, you should be fine waiting for the first train in the morning. London is pretty safe if you know which places to stay away from.

It's ok, I understand, I hate queue jumpers too, it sucks to be waiting for hours then have some people turn up an hour before the gig and try and get in the front X_X luckily security's usually waaay on top of that stuff.

I'm going down to London tomorrow so won't be on here, so i'll say in advance I'm really excited and really looking forward to saying hi to a bunch of you in the queue! If anyone hanging round London tomorrow spots a pink haired girl in a Nosferatu T-shirt come say hi!  ;D

Just saying a quick hi to everyone from our London hostel, I think I might be the first one here.

I think we'll get to the venue sometime in the afternoon, if not earlier, and set ourselves up at the park across the street from the venue, since it is forbidden to camp next to the venue itself and no one wants to be denied access to the show eventually (though I doubt it'll come to that).

Just come around, say hi and have fun with us! :)

PS: The same basically goes for Paris, but there are tons of French fans there who will probably organize stuff. Also, we will arrive two days earlier so we might think of some stuff to do the day before, for example we might meet on the Sacre Coeur stairs for a group picture (Google it). More details will follow :)

How many of you turning up early, around 10:00-12:00am kind of time? Am I going to end up last in line and at the back at the venue if I turn up after 12am, lol.

Think it'll be a bit awkward trying to get our places saved in line so we can go talk to other X-Freaks and go over to see Hypno and others? (guess you just ask someone to save your space for you, pretty obvious), its my first time going to a concert and I'm being asked a million questions about this, so, sorry if I'm asking any dumb questions.

Hope to meet some of you fellow board members tomorrow.  I'll probably arrive to queue around late afternoon or something.

Yeah sure just meet us in line and we'll chat in a group for a while, also I'm sure when you're mainly in line you'll be next to one of us.

And hugs, the main website for X on the shepards bush website says this

Japanese Voyeurs: 7.45-8.15pm

X-JApan: 8.45pm

So I imagine the concert will end at around 11, but if the concert is 2 1/2 hours it'll end at 11:15-30. The time between 8:15 and 8:45 will be X's equipment being set up, hopefully it wont take any longer than that and you should be fine.

I'll get there around 12:00 to 1:00, my dad will be with me as well so see you all there!

Hehe this is turning out to be the same set list as NA tour. I find it funny cause the other day, Yoshiki said the setlist is "super secret" during an interview. At the same time, I guess he couldn't have said "Oh, it's just the same as NA tour", either. No complaints though as it's a pretty awesome set list, especially if the UK fans get Art of Life at the end like we did. Getting those classics in their like SJ, Kurenai, and Endless Rain are unforgettable!

TBH I can't really rate the band or the gig perfectly since I could hardly see a damn thing and was too busy trying not to suffocate as opposed to enjoying the experience.  But from what I could hear Toshi was great as were everybody else.  X are truly explosive I won't deny that. However I did manage a few good pics and two vids during the encore (guess everyone was tired).

I just didn't expect the crowd to be THAT nuts in the stalls, makes me regret not exchanging tickets with other people for a level 1 seat.  So many people just pushed the minute the band started and one fangirl even had the nerve to be on piggy back.   I was hoping to buy merchandise after the gig but I was too stressed to even stick around even more and just went home.

It was truly awesome, my back felt nearly broken afterwards and I almost couldn't walk at all XD. It was hard to see the members at times, but I still saw them, and they basically performed perfectly. Except for a couple of things, the fact that they've still got 'the last live' guitar solo for kurenai playing instead of sugizo doing it was very meh, they should've sorted that out by now. And Toshi was brilliant, and there was only a couple of times in the concert where his voice went weak/cracked up, at some points I thought his voice was too high like he'd sucked in helium, but after seeing some videos on youtube it seems Toshi's voice sounded normal, I think it was the acoustics of the theatre and the bass might've been distorting how I heard his voice.

But yeah the concert was amazing (Except Drain, its just...drain) Sugizo's violin solos were epic and Yoshiki wasn't just doing the usual 'uuuuup, doooown SLAM SLAM SLAM' routine with the piano he was adding a lot of original things into it.

I completely expected the crowd to be nuts, it was kind of obvious after the reports of the tour last year. The people getting piggy backs was a bit annoying though. There was one guy (I'm sorry if it was anyone on here) who i think went ott with what he was shouting to the band, infact two people were shouting "shut up and get on with it!!" "less talking, more singing!!" while the band were on stage when everything was silent. I think the band will definatly come back to London based on most of the crowd reaction, but what those guys were saying isn't going to help is it. I havn't heard anyone else at any other X concerts shout that.

And yeah, the thunder was utter insanity.

... I think you should see it as a hide tribute. I actually said to Yoshiki on twitter to play scars or drain as a tribute and that he shouldn't play too many ballads hehe.

Yeah would've preferred the entire Japanese version as well but later on they sang the main chorus in Japanese and everyone joined in.  Silent Jealousy was mostly in English too :/

The English version actually sounded really good this time, Toshi's voice felt a lot more energetic. I don't like how he didn't sing the opening lines before the song kicked in, they just did the violin/piano opening and went straight into the main part of the song, I hope that's not part of the norm for the song now and in the new album, you can't take out hide's guitar opening and Toshi's "I couldn't look back" ect.

I was on level 1 and had a perfect view of the band, but honestly coulnd't tell which language the lyrics where.. Hope my ears heal before the paris gig.

I think "Xplosive" is a good way to describe the performance :)

Yeah, the concert was awesome, there was a lot of energy going back and forth between the audience and the band. Toshi was great, I like his voice a lot now.
The rest of the bunch awesome as well. I liked how Sugizo was weaving the Godfather Theme into his Violin solo, and of course he also sneaked in the riff from Providence.

TBH I can't really rate the band or the gig perfectly since I could hardly see a damn thing and was too busy trying not to suffocate as opposed to enjoying the experience.

I'm really sorry to hear that!
It looked quite chaotic at times from the first stall, where I was. A lot of pushing and shoving going on sometimes, especially in the first few rows.

What I didn't like were the very Yoshiki centric screams and cheers, in my opinion it was a bit too much, I think I won't scream the "Y word" in Berlin at all ;-P

By the way, hello everybody! ^_____^

My report on the concert, it’s not perfect but I wanted to write it down asap so I don’t forget anything. Also I was down in the pit so probably didn’t catch everything because it was quite hard to see most of the band except for Yoshiki and Toshi. Had a really good view on Heath and Pata at the beginning though but didn’t see that much of Sugizo except for his solos.

I got to the venue at about 5ish and the queues were already massive. Didn’t have that much fun while waiting unfortunately as I was in between two groups who were happy with talking among themselves. But that wasn’t much of a problem as it were only just over two hours until we were let in.

Shepherd’s Bush Empire is a really nice venue (I like it a lot anyway) and the whole interior was quite fitting for an X Japan show. The support band came up late and their sound wasn’t the best (I don’t think they got the chance to do a proper soundcheck) but they were surprisingly good. They are not really the kind of band I’d normally listen to but luckily everyone was very nice to them and clapped and screamed for them. I think they enjoyed their thirty minute set and I’m glad, nothing like with the North American support band happened.

After they finished it took about another 40 minutes (I think) until X Japan came on (around 9ish) a lot of ‘We Are X’ shouting was going on in the meantime which was a good thing because it distracted me from the increasing back pain due to standing for what seemed ages. It started with the new intro and everyone started to get really excited. I started out being in 5th row approximately and had quite a good view for the most part. When Jade came on everyone went mental (literally)! It was really good and there was a lot of energy in the crowd and on the stage. At some point it got a bit difficult because of all the people shoving and jumping but it was part of the experience in a way. Rusty Nail was pretty good as well (although I was a bit disappointed they didn’t play Week End instead), would have preferred the Japanese version cause I don’t really know the English lyrics bit it was fun anyway.

Then there was Silent Jealousy with the intro by Toshi and Yoshiki. Toshi let us sing quite a few lines and they seemed really happy that so many people knew the lyrics.
The shoving got pretty bad at this point though and I didn’t mind that I slowly but steadily went further to the back as the show went on(at the end of the show I was a bit in front of the middle I think). I had my experience of being so close to them and a bit further back it was easier to enjoy the music. Also I’m quite tall for a girl I suppose so I still had a decent view most of the time. The people further back were all really considerate and nice as well. Just the two girls who were taken up to their friends shoulders pissed me off a little bit. They obstructed the view for everyone else and one of them also kept making out with her boyfriend while the band was playing…
Then it was time for Drain which is not one of my favourite songs but was a nice tribute to hide. It also gave everyone the chance to calm down for a bit and save some energy for what was to come.
The Sugizo violin solo was beautiful and quite long I think, it then went into the Kurenai intro together with Yoshiki. I would have liked to hear Toshi sing it but it was very nice anyway. Kurenai was really good. Toshi’s voice was almost flawless and everyone really felt it.
Born to be free came up after that and was surprisingly good. I didn’t like it that much so far but it worked really well live and everyone went crazy again.

Then the I.V. intro bit must have been one of the most beautiful moments of my life. Toshi took the flag some fans made and waved it around/put it around his neck. I think I’ve seen photos of the flag being uploaded somewhere but don’t remember. It’s basically the Union Jack with the X Japan logo on it and I think some written messages. They seemed to love that flag and were fiddling around with it later on as well. Singing along with everyone for the intro was so nice and definitely one of my highlights.
For X after that everyone went mental. I was surprised that not that many people did the X jump. Could be a misconception though and might be due to the limited space in the pit. After that Yoshiki dived into the crowd. I’m pretty annoyed as he went exactly where I was standing at the very beginning but I’d probably be bruised like crazy if I had still been there. The faces of the security guys who pulled him out again were hilarious though. Like literale ‘what the hell did he do that for??’ :D.

After that, the band left and again, there was a lot of ‘We Are X’ shouting going on. The break felt pretty long even if it was only about 20 minutes I think. Also a lot of people were shouting for ‘Endless Rain’. When Yoshiki and later Toshi came back there was a really nice speech. Definitely find it on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mj5JFGe8NhY&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mj5JFGe8NhY&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL)). It was very emotional and Yoshiki was talking about hide always playing with them and everyone shouted their names. But better watch it yourself. We were also shouting for Endless Rain and if I’m not mistaken Yoshiki grinned a bit and nodded at one point.

There’s not much to say about Endless Rain, as always everyone was singing along for ages and the band looked really emotional about the reception. It was beautiful but I don’t think there’s much I need to say about it.
Art of Life started with a second piano player (possibly INA) playing the piano solo and then Yoshiki joined in on piano doing the piano solo. At one point, when everyone started clapping I think he shook his head as if to tell people to stop. Not entirely sure if I made it out correctly from where I was standing, maybe should check some recordings. Then the band joined in and did the last part of Art of Life, which is – as we know – a pretty epic song.
That was the last song unfortunately and Forever Love S.E. started playing. Loads people sang along and the band was throwing water bottles into the crowd and took pictures of themselves in front of everyone.
Would have loved to catch a bottle of water they threw in the crowd but the closest I got was being hit by the cap of one of them. :D

Overally I’m feeling so lucky and honour to have had the opportunity to see them in such a small and intimate venue. It was the first time I ever saw any of them in person and not on a screen and I can’t even say which was the best moment as there were so many. Singing along with Endless Rain, Toshi waving the Union Jack/X flag throughout IV intro, Yoshiki’s and Toshi’s speech, Silent Jealousy intro or Pata sort of grinning the whole time during Jade and Rusty Nail (couldn’t really see him after that much unfortunately). They seemed so happy and grateful for the reception we gave them and I really hope they’re coming back to London sometime.
I wish I could thank them in some way for this amazing experience.

My everything still hurts but it was completely worth it, I thought they were amazing, the pushing and shoving in the front was painful but not moreso than other jrock gigs, I thought, it always amazes me how all the tallest people seem to end up in the front row.

Even tho I couldn't see all the time I thought they were amazing, I wish Rusty Nail had been in Japanese but they made up for it by making me cry my eyes out at Endless Rain.

Also, Yoshiki screaming "fucking PG Tips!" was worth the queueing in a thunderstorm.

So I'm back at home (cause of work tomorrow) and I have to say it was really a blast. The band was on fire, the audience was awesome and the overall experience of seeing X for the first time is pretty hard to put in words.
We were pretty early at the venue (a lot earlier as planned) and the weather on the day of the concert really sucked, it rained a lot and the wind was also annoying. Monday=Hot, Tuesday=Cold and Rain and Wednesday=Hot, awesome :( So when we finally got inside I bought a shirt and went to the floor to the rest of the people, guess at that moment I was maybe in sixth or sevent row, hard to tell. The Venue was pretty packed and with the three balconys it's really a nice place to have concerts. The opening act was okay, not exactly my cup of tea, but well, could have been worse. After they finished their set we had to wait a little bit before X came on stage and with the Opening Riffs of Jade the people around me really started to go nuts, didn't expect it to be that heavy during the first three songs, but it was a lot of fun and nobody seemd to have been hurt seriously.
Sure there were things I didn't like that much, like still the inclusion of some backingtracks, the long break before the encore and also the long Violin-Solo, but if I see the concert as a whole, that doesn't really matter that much for me. Totally enjoyed it and I'm really looking forward to the Paris show.

BTW, here's something for Tordek42 and Nage, they know what to make of it ;)

@ SephiValjean yeah the PG FUCKING TIPS moments was hilarious.

@ Noise I was standing right next to/behind the couple who were making out constantly, unless there were two couples doing that, it was a little awkward.

I think at some point during X, like the half way point or the last quarter, at the exact moment where they've always started the chorus up again and everyone starts doing the X jump again, Yoshiki did something different with the drums instead or he got the timing wrong, and I (and maybe a couple of others) jumped once at the wrong time, was a bit weird.

And I don't think anyone further back from the fifth row (including me) knew that Yoshiki stage dived, so many tall people infront it was crazy.

Yeah they splashed people with water and threw their bottles at various fans, even those up at level 1.  Very lucky.

Noise and Ulquiorra I might have seen the same couple as you did as they were in front of me too before moving away after the first few songs.

I had no idea Yoshiki stage dived.  Was wondering what the screaming was about.  I did see a girl collapse after the band left the stage and she was being pulled out by the staff telling everyone to back off.

@Ulquiorra & vash-chan
you must have been pretty close to where I was standing then. Saw a (sort of) tallish girl with a hoodie that had gears on the back by any chance?
I only noticed that he stage dived because of all the commotion going on there and the faces of the security guys.
I'm still completely flashed by the concert. So much fun! Anyone wanna take me to Paris? :P

The gig was absolutely awesome, the view I had from the second row of the second stall was brilliant. I bought a stall ticket only because the floor was already sold out but I'm seriously glad I got to see it from there now, totally uninterrupted view. The vibe in the stands from where I was standing was also really electric, a few people were sitting down but mostly everyone was standing up and really enjoying it. I didn't even show up until after 6.30 so I'm glad I got such an awesome view.

As for the music I can only mimic what others have said in this thread in that it was fucking brilliant and the line about P.G. tips was even more hilarious as about 10 foreigners standing next me just stood there with blank faces.

agree with vash-chan. I am really really short 4'9, managed to get to like 3rd/4th row in front but i spent all the time with my face in peoples hair or backs. with elbows into my neck or boobs. so didnt see much. I dont think i even head banged much but my neck is still sore. and my shoulder which my bag strap was on is swollen. I think i ripped out alot of people hair because it just stuck to me cos of the sweat (mine got ripped too even though it was short!) Tried to jump when X was on but was stuck in the human sandwich. The pushing and shoving was the worst!
But there was a nice tall guy from xplosion online who let me infront of him so I actually got to see the band during the encore! AMAZING yoshiki on piano is just magic. and yeah i think he was shaking his head at the clapping.
Yoshiki dived to my right and everyone just went that direction and ended up on the floor. fun times. i think there was a girl who was really happy that yoshiki's butt landed on her face or something.
A bottle hit my hands but i was holding my light sticks so it just bounced off lol and someone grabbed my lightstick probably thinking it was the thing that was thrown lol
I am camping for the paris show so I HAVE to be in the front or it is gonna be the same again! fun but just kept being irritated at tall people and those who block the view with their cameras.....
I was actually happy they played Drain! The girl next to me was sobbing when Forever Love was playing. Toshi is just so bling... ---__---- haha
i think it was a girl playing the piano with Yoshiki during Art of Life.

The joke was (sorry if I recount this wrong):

Yoshiki gets the microphone and says;
"It's so fucking hot in here. I need a drink, green tea or something, not that.. what do you call it? PG Tips .... PG FUCKING TIPS!" followed by cheers from the crowd.
Any way the joke is that PG Tips is really popular brand of normal English tea, the kind you drink with milk and sugar.

As soon as Yoshiki said that I thought, okay, this has to be the new X meme/injoke, along with Yoshiki's inability to say Roseland Ballroom.

Had a fail moment with my glowsticks, I put one of them in my coatpocket for some reason, then when I reached in to get the glowstick out again it was gone, mysteriously vanished, for no reason. I searched every pocket in my coat and trousers for it several times, I eventually felt it, it was stuck in between the layers of my coat, it had fallen in some tiny tiny hole in my coat pocket and I couldn't find the hole or get it out XD. So I only had one glowstick, wasn't gonna be making any X signs with that.

Gig was great. The line was massive and the response to the band was awesome. So many Japanese people were there too... I was talking to quite a lot of them in the line, I was supprised at how few of them were students living in England - most travelled especially for this show. There was also a hide cosplayer from Japan who I recognised instantly from Tokyo Dome in 2008.

Personal favourite part of the gig for me was one point where I got on my friends (he's ridiculously tall) shoulders so I could see more of the stage, and Pata (with his new found moustache) realised that me being a 6 foot tall guy was on the shoulders of another guy like some giant Gundam or something and he totally burst out laughing in the middle of drain and gave Toshi a nudge, who also smiled and pointed right back at me.

On the downside, I felt bad for a lot of the small Japanese people who probably couldn't see a thing, the lines of site in the pit were terrible. Yoshiki also made a lot of mistakes as the gig started up which was probably owing to his nerves and the setlist was basically the exact same thing that North America got, which made it a little predictable. Also, I dunno if you all noticed, but Sugizo's very long violin solo probably had a less-than-nice reason. Sugizo kept on looking over to the stage guy who was giving the signals and he kept shaking his head, as if to say "Yoshiki isn't ready, keep on playing" which made the solo go on much longer than perhaps it should have.

On the downside I've had a pretty fucked up two days in my personal life, so while I would have liked to have spent more time at the venue sooner and hung out with X Freaks I was pretty limited. I came across Hypno briefly and talked to Aruzo a little at the tube station on the way back from the gig - so I'm hoping there is definately a next time and they return to London.

I really liked the gig. I'm only 5'2 though so I had a pretty hard time seeing anything. I wasn't able to get to the venue until about 4 and I really regret not going earlier. The queue was around the corner by that time and the fans around me weren't very talkactive. I got quite annoyed at the group of people in front of me too. Sorry if it's any of you guys but I personally don't see the point in getting drunk before the concert and trying to sneak booze in. When we did get inside one of the security guards realised and began searching people a bit more.

The support band weren't brilliant. I think the band themselves were quite good but the vocalist really grated. I did not like her voice in the slightest. A few people sat down near the end of their set and I joined them as my legs were hurting from all the standing. It didn't help that they were murdering Nine inch nails-closer. I did find it quite amusing that they were being their own roadies for the most part whilst X had a guy who was polishing the piano.

When the concert started the crowd went wild which was quite fun but I did see quite a few people rushing away from the front. They looked quite panicked so I'm guessing they weren't used to gigs. I did think I'd have to move back at one point because I'm asthmatic and it was getting quite hard for me to breathe due to a combo of the heat, being crushed and pushed around. I managed to stay at the front though which was good. I couldn't see much for most of the concert but I had a good view of Yoshiki on his piano at times and a very good view of Sugizo during his violin solo. I do feel the solo went on for too long but like others have said it's probably because Yoshiki needed the time to recover. I did think Yoshiki was going to drop but I'm glad he didn't. I am worried about how much he seems to be pushing himself though.

I'm quite happy they played Drain because there's just something I love about that song. I'm really disappointed they didn't play Tears though as that is the first X song I ever heard and it means a lot to me. I couldn't stay for the encore sadly as I had to catch a train from Euston at 11:30. The train didn't leave until 12:10 in the end because the driver lost the fucking keys or something. So yeah I wasn't pleased about that. The encore sounds amazing from what I've heard though.

I think next time though I'm going to go to the Paris gig if they do one. I'll try for both but I have a feeling the Paris one is going to be better. When I went to the Japan expo a few years back the atmosphere just seemed better to me. The video of X they showed just got such an amazing reaction and the Ra:in crowd were pretty cool. Plus even though my French is pretty poor the queue was more fun because everyone was more friendly.

I do have to say that my highlight of the gig is 'PG fucking tips.' Along with Pata's fabulous facial hair. I think it was a nice touch that Toshi was playing with the flag too. The band looked quite happy from what I could see so I'm hopeful for another gig soon.

There was a question about patas facial hair at the japan-expo conference, and he answered something like "it being a pain" did anyone catch that? My japanese isnt the best and i dont speak a word french.

And about yoshiki jumping in the crowd, I dont think he should do that. The second time he jumped, a girl(?) got pushed down under him and the security guards almost couldn't get her up anymore. It was just insane.

The concert seemed to be really amazing. ThanX for all the updates) *is still waitin 4 HD&HQ* ;)

They didn't play Scarlet Love Song ?!

Sadly no.  I would've liked to hear how it was live though.  You can find the setlist on Xplosion-Online's website

The yoshikitty was 65 pounds. Way too much in my opinion.

Or just say is the same setlist than all the North American tour concerts. xD

I'll talk about my personal report on the concert, pretty damn good. Waiting in the line was long, but it didn't seem that long. (Thanks to the guys who offered me and my bro cookies and thanks to the guy from xplosion who redirected us to the correct line). I enjoyed the concert a lot, I thought the length of the X concert itself was fine, and I also think the breaks and solo's were a fine length. I wouldn't talk about making them shorter, I would have instead made the Japanese Voyeurs shorter because frankly they were crap. I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't for two reasons:

1. About an hour before the concert my glasses broke and I couldn't repair them, so it was like watching it with cataracts.
2. I hardly saw Pata (I think just during the encore that I saw him) because there was some guy infront of me swinging his fists around.

Getting to the actual venue was a laugh, we planned to walk from victoria to shepherds bush. I printed off maps before hand, but you remember that really bad rain? Well yeah, you know what happens. We managed to make it walking though, took us like 3 hours.

I had a really great time in London. Me and my dad left Monday morning very early but unfortunately we had very bad traffic the whole day we didn’t arrive at our hotel until after 20:00. We did stop a few times for lunch and dinner but it was a very long day! Tuesday we went to Camden Town and then went to Shepherds Bush around 5. We had some dinner and joined the line. It was very long then! But it got longer as we waited. I didn’t mind to much though, I like going to concerts but I don’t like being crushed.
I’m also not very big so I couldn’t see much but the energy was great and the music good (we missed the support band because they let people in way to slowly!).
Wednesday we had another day in London, we went to the Jewish Museum and walked around in West End. Thursday we went back to the Netherlands and again, very bad traffic… there seemed to be a curse on travelling for us xD. We arrived at my place around 21:00, my dad wasn’t home until 23:30…
Friday I had a school presentation and after that presentation I went to my parents because my dad and I also went to the Utrecht gig yesterday.

I really loved both concerts, they are definitely in my top ten of concerts!

Didn't anyone else cry? >_<"

For anyone interested, a torrent for an audio bootleg of the London show has been uploaded onto Demonoid.com. I had a quick listen, not great quality but those who were there might enjoy it as a keepsake of the night. and those of us who weren't there can hear what we missed out :-(

thanx for posting that,
sounds that the London live was a bit different from the one in Utrecht and the Berlin one, wich I enjoyed that much...and I do absolutly agree with the point of ToshI pronouncing Yoshikis name wrong, please ToshI don´t do that anymore, it sounds awful...

So you lucky guys and girls in South America and Asia you still have the concerts in front of you (I´m a bit envious, yes am)

I think he does it as a joke. From what I gather the rest of the band make fun of him because people in America can't pronounce his name properly. He did it in the LA show too, he was like "Here is Yoshiki (pronounced correctly)... Uh, I mean here is (laughing) YO-SHI-KI"

I thought about something like that, but it´s really a one or two time joke, but maybe it´s only me, it sound that inconvenient to me  :P

AFAIK, "Yo-Shee-kee" is so right as "Yoh-shiki". Some people already told me that japanese words don't have highest syllables.

no, it´s Yosh-ki

Acutally, Joker is right. There are no stress syllables in Japanese. Though 99% of Japanese will pronounce the name as Yoshki, Yoshiki is quite allright and would make a three-syllable word in a song lyric. (Note, there is a difference between Yoshiki and Yoshiiki, the latter being wrong and actually having four syllables)

You are supposed to pronounce the i between the h and the k, but it should sound almost silent.
