General chat / What X song are you listening to?

Tears, because when i was in Queensland for 2 weeks, it stuffed up on my mp3 player when i was on the plane, and i left all my CD's at home!! It was torture because i had the song stuck in my head the whole time!! (Ooh, It's a weird feeling, sitting in the tower of terror.. Humming, miles away and suddenly WHOOOOOM!!!)

Woah, you got to see them live? That would be pretty sweet. They were down in Tassie a few months ago for Falls and The Southern Roots Festival, but i didn't go because no one else there even vaguely interested me. haha.

Has anyone here heard Psycroptic? They are a Tassie Death Metal band that have been touring Europe, and they are playing here on friday! (Hehe...FRIDAY!!)

The demo version of Woman sounds a lot better than the album one, loved it when i first heard it, and minds eye is a great song, but. like a lot of bands, after a debut so successful. i don't really know if they can match it.. Anyway, we'll soon see.

I didn't know if to put AC/DC in or not, cause i thought most people would of heard at least a few of their songs. I guess its like an American suggesting Jimi Hendrix or a Pom Pink Floyd or something

Well, not many Aussie bands are my cup of tea, but ill list a few of the more popular ones for everyone here.

Cat Empire - Alt Jazz/Ska/Rock band will a kinda Latino feel to the music.

Silverchair - Older stuff Post Grunge, now Rockier. One of the most succesful Aussie bands here and overseas.

Powderfinger - Popular rock band here, i'm not really a fan.

Wolfmother - They're huge here at the moment, but i don't think they will last  
much longer.. They have a Led Zep/Sabbath/Soundgarden influence which you can certainly hear in the music.

I've been a KISS fan for life, and i have heard lots of peoples opinions about the band, its members and so on. Many of the people are stupid idiots that don't know what they are talking about Now, we are all smart people here (no arse kissing intended, haha) and i was just wondering what peoples favourite KISS line up was/is?

Ooh, might as well answer my question while im here. The Classic KISS Line Up, Ace, Peter, Gene. Paul, is well...Classic KISS. But imo, the lineup of Gene, Paul Bruce and Eric (either one, really) especially live and on Revenge, are a bloody fantastic lineup! The playing was at a high, and sure, there were more than a few cheesy songs here and there, but they sure put on a show!

Jazz guitar would sound awesome. How are you going with it overall?

At the moment we are trying to put Hotel California -Eagles, together. On the Farewell 1 Tour, there is a trumpet solo that sounds so awesome, and its quite high at some points so its going to be a great challenge

Haha, most of the time its crappy concert band stuff, but some of the time we do sorta in the style of Cat Empire or some CAKE songs or play and old riff or the twelve bar blues and add a bit of improvising here and there when we are bored.

I'm hoping to at some point to learn a bit more jazz to just show off a bit

It was awesome last year, had some of my mates from a death metal band and others from a hard rock one, my best mate who plays alto sax and myself, and we covered Louie Louie, sounded bloody awesome

Woah, first one to reply to this in over a month..

Been playing trumpet for 4 years and just been mucking around with guitar and bass for a while, nothing serious. Its pretty cool to just jam with mates bands with either of them.

I've noticed that Dahlia isn't on this page, or really spoken about in any of the posts. I was just wondering about peoples views on the song because it was my first X Japan song, i heard it i thought "woah, \m/BRUTAL!!\m/" and just needed to listen to more and more of this beautiful band. Even after having all the albums etc it is still one of my favourite songs by X. What does everyone else think?
