I had a look on Spotify as the soundtrack has been released - it's not on there.

People on Reddit have suggested the song isn't in the game.

It's disappointing but also not unexpected.

Yoshiki’s also posted a statement on socials. I tried to add an attachment but I’m too technologically-inabled to do so.

I'm surprised by the lack of comments from any of the other surviving members.

21 hours ago, Yoshiki posted on Facebook about featuring in TIME magazine, and this was after a post cancelling his attendance for an award after "someone close to (him) passed away".

I know grief works differently for everyone, I also know that musicians/celebrities don't owe us anything, and that Heath was a 'replacement' member, but it's interesting to see the (lack of) reaction compared to when Taiji died (let alone when hide passed...)

Yoshiki just posted something on Twitter

https://twitter.com/YoshikiOfficial/status/1722087100168679874

According to this tweet it was the wish of Heath's family not to announce his death...and then the news got out anyway.

but hey, let's go and bash only Yoshiki and call him a narcist for not saying anything when the other band members didn't either. Because Yoshiki is such an easy target.

I have to apologise, I posted without reading the immediate comments above. Thank you for providing the link to the tweet, that makes a lot of sense about the family wanting to keep things private.

News / Re: Angel will be released on July 28th
« on: July 29, 2023, 06:17:18 AM »
It makes me wonder how much of the post reunion songs have actually included Pata, Heath and Sugizo, minus the hide sampling in I.V., and the solos in Jade and BTBF. It would explain the simplistic riffs in those songs.

Beneath the Skin and some snippets of Kiss the Sky are the only songs that sounded somewhat more complex, at least from a bass and guitar perspective.

The very limited guitar, albeit, power chords which aren’t palm muted, makes me think Yoshiki’s worked on Angel by himself in the studio with an old ToshI audio track.

“Although I’ve been criticized for being delayed. I’m staking my life on all of these projects. My fans please believe me”.

You make it a bit hard to believe you mate. It’s piss poor to announce a single release if your song isn’t finished and you can’t decide how to end it.

Assume this’ll be followed by the indefinite postponement of Angel.

I should feel optimistic but I feel like the single will be released, and we’ll hear nothing from X for another 5-6 years, and nothing else will ever get released from TLRS.

I hope that I’m wrong.

I feel the same as magucathy, and it sucks.

Have hardly listened to any live clips of TLRS. I was curious to see what Hyde sounded like singing Beneath the Skin as that’s the coolest thing I’ve heard since S.K.I.N/X reunion etc.

While I glance at the forum every few days as part of my internet viewing routine, I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I’m unlikely to ever hear the “new” album. Feels crazy to think how much life has changed since I excitedly loaded up the studio version of “Born to be free” on Spotify with the hope of an album coming soon. Hell, I’ve gone from being married, divorced and married again since BTBF was released. 🤣

I remember a while ago reading that the unreleased album had a song called “Rockstar”. I wonder if this song is now TLRS’s debut single?

I also read on a YouTube comment that ToshI’s latest release had some lyrics which alluded to be dissing Yoshiki… Any truth to that?

Well the first single is very modern Yoshiki.
Cringe lyrics, lots of piano runs, but some of the riffs are pretty cool!

So it’s S.K.I.N. with Hyde instead of Gackt?
Cringe name…

Thank you so much for the synopsis and update; much appreciated!

That’s really interesting about Under the Sky; I completely forgot about it until you mentioned it!

Perhaps this major distribution of We are X is the “right time” for the album to drop…….. In 2032.

Saw something on Yo’s Instagram… Does anyone know if it’s just more bullshit or if something interesting is happening?

Forever living in hope for that “album master” from a few years ago leaking.

Take care all!

Yay for more activity on the forum! Living in the UK now rather than Aus, so the likelihood of me making an X-Freaks meet up is WAY more likely. ;p

- When X Japan album comes out, VUK album will also come out.

On one hand this comment makes me think " so, never? ;p" buuuuut after over a decade, I'm staying optimistic!

Definitely think the extra 4 songs will be instrumental/short pieces.

Is the concerns regarding Heath and Yoshiki to do with the management issues/Heath potentially leaving the band in 2009?

Ive been a fan of the band for a decade and a half (pre-reunion) and in that time I have never even thought about Heath and Yoshiki's friendship/relationship. Always seemed like a hired gun sort of relationship in comparison to the other members...

My brief googling of it today only bought up fan fiction... :|

Natural marketing move to pump the "new songs" when promoting the soon to be released album.

I really quite enjoyed his comments about Drain! It is hard to believe ghe song was released in '96. Never thought in the late 00's that Drain would be one of the songs that doesn't sound 'dated' a few decades later.

General chat / If Yoshiki can't play drums...
« on: June 30, 2017, 03:51:47 AM »
Let's say worst case scenario and Yoshiki can't play drums anymore
..

Do you think they'd be the possibility of him running around (or limping around) with a guitar for the songs he doesn't play piano on, ala Extasy/hide memorial summits? He does have a signature guitar, or can use one of the hide love heart ones...

Which could then lead to Shinya filling in on drums?! He's already played with Toshi in the brainwashing days, and he played drums at the hide memorial summit for X!!!!

Just a bit of speculative banter... ;)

Other Bands / Re: The Guns N'Roses Topic !

I saw them in Adelaide a few months ago and it was an absolutely brilliant gig.

Nostalgic as all fuck. Axl was in incredible form, and they were 15 mins early; the crowd was still piling in when It's so easy started!

I really enjoyed seeing Richard Fortus on stage. He nailed all the Chinese Democracy stuff and also has great chemistry with the audience, Duff and Slash.

While lots of people say that it isn't a real reunion without the original 5, Adler wouldn't last the whole gig, and who knows when Izzy would bail the tour anyway. Frank is a machine on the drums, Dizzy is Dizzy, and Melissa has a fantastic voice (and is cute as fuck)

Yoshiki / Re: Impending postponement/delay
« on: May 15, 2017, 07:51:46 AM »
Teemeah, oh how I wish you discovered this band in the forums 'glory days', you would have loved it here! I have to admit I have been getting quite nostalgic reading over some of the old re-opened subforums and topics, and cringing over some of my teenage thoughts and band obsessions. :/

I think it was October 2014 when I first heard a decent HD rip of Beneath the Skin, and for some reason it changed my previous  mentality from "Release the fucking album already god damn it, I can't deal with another Chinese Democracy scenario in my delicate state" to 'Ah well, whatever singles or leaks that have and will come out are actually better than a reunion of your favourite angsty teenage band never occurring". I still remember the excitement 10 years ago of the murmurs of Toshi and Yoshiki talking again. Of searching for hundreds of different downloads of I.V., of finding dodgy low-def streams to the 3 night reunion concerts which would cut-out every few minutes... But now, 10 years later, like many long-termers on this forum, I've gone through every possible emotion waiting on the release of this album so many people thought would never be released, from a band that literally came into and changed my life for the better at a time when (as a massively fucked up kid) I needed something to be absorbed by.

Whilst I've travelled the world, fallen in love, built a house and all the things that come along with that, part of me regrets not ever seeing X (or even just Yoshiki or Toshi) in concert. To be transformed away for just a few hours with a band which literally saved me and changed my life (yes, soppy, but who gives a fuck, music has that effect on people) is something I've always wanted with this band. But, as other people have mentioned, I don't have the time, money or lack of responsibilities to travel half way across the globe, at great expense, for a 50/50 chance of seeing a gig which, if it doesn't occur, I won't be able to afford to see again. So I completely understand people's anger about last minute cancellations.

So for the next decade, I guess I'll just keep checking this forum, and not be disappointed when more gigs and cancelled and the album keeps getting pushed back... But I sure as hell am gonna be analysing the fuck out of whatever 2 or 3 songs that get leaked or 'unplugged released' over that time! :D

Don't forget Pata co-wrote Wriggle too Kasumi! Only the most important and non-filler track off Dahlia! ;)
