I CAN'T WAIT.
-
GERMANY!!! damn yes!!! wohoooooo!!!
thanX, great news^^
-
GERMANY!!!
This is the best news since the reunion. ^_^
-
WHOOOHOOOOO! *jump and dance*
Germany!
I'm there! No matter where it is! I get everywhere X plays in Germany! :D
Really Good News!
-
GERMANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe that they are really coming to Germany.
I am wondering in which city they will play.....
-
OMG ! I'll see X JAPAN live twice in 2009 ! (Paris & Germany :P)
-
OMG ! I'll see X JAPAN live twice in 2009 ! (Paris & Germany :P)
Well, maybe I'll do that, too, I live pretty close to France :)
-
X.X. Beijing, China
It wasn't announced cancelled? :-\
-
I'll go to Germany and Finland (Hopefully they perform in Hartwall Arena)!
And maybe France too, if my budget allows....
-
Haha I'm really tempted to go to all 3 european lives XD
Great opportunity to meet other X freaks and visit some cities and countries aswell. Let's just hope my money will be enough for that. *drop*
-
X.X. Beijing, China

Bird's Nest seems cancelled, but I understood Yoshiki will keep trying to perform there, or at least somewhere else.
-
(Hopefully they perform in Hartwall Arena)!
Indeed, if the concert will be in Tavastia/Nosturi/etc., it will be very hard to get tickets. =/
-
I'll be in Paris and/or Germany 8)
-
WTF! So they changed their mind about Sweden?
Apparently. But I think it's for the better. If they come, New Nippon will probably be arranging it and I have a feeling NN don't really take the bands they bring here seriously. They market their concerts for 12-year olds.
On the other hand there's the Japan Expo in May, if I were them I'd try to bring X here in time with that to get the most audience possible. That is, if X are interested.
-
It also might be that they wanted one Scandinavian country and although at first they looked at Sweden, as it's more in the center, they later researched it more and saw that Finland has WAY more jrock fans than Sweden (not a proven fact, just my impression... but doesn't Finland have one of the biggest amount of jrock fans/metal fans/weird people in whole Europe?). It can also be that they messed up Sweden and Finland before. For them it's just two countries that are quite alike somewhere far away. I wouldn't be that surprised.
-
Finland won Eurovision years ago with a metal group if I remember well ^^
And when you look at Europeans Tour (by japanese visual kei band), they go to finland very often.
-

Lordi is actually a hard rock band.
-
Whaa? No "Discuss Here, damn you"?!?! :O
Unbeliavable if they actually come to Finland (my country)!
-
if they have a concert in Germany and also in Finland, do you think if they are still abel to fill Bercy??
-
the answer is no XD
-
the answer is no XD
I think I'll have to second that XD
In my opinion, it's highly unlikely that they manage to fill Bercy even if it was the only European date.
X Japan are not that polular in Europe and I'm sure X Japan know that better than us.Anyway, this doesn't mean that there will be just a bunch of people, there'll be many(if the concert happens of course XD), but not as many as required to fill Bercy I think.
-
Finland has WAY more jrock fans than Sweden (not a proven fact, just my impression... but doesn't Finland have one of the biggest amount of jrock fans/metal fans/weird people in whole Europe?).
Ok do not underestimate the swedish Jrock fanbase XDDD It's huge and everywhere. Don't know about Finland, but we've got lots and lots of fans. However, they mostly only like An cafe and Dir en grey. They think X is overrated shit D: When the right bands come, though, they sell out at once.

Miyavi sold out two shows in Helsinki XD
And I didn't notice this is posted in News. I'll fix this when I have a bit more time :P

It's the same here in Finland, except they don't think X is 'overrated shit', because they have never heard of them. x__x
-
nyahahahahaaaaaahhhhh!!!
Yeah, I collapsed when I heard that they come to Finland!! I was already prepared to go see them to Sweden 'cos I had a stroooooong feeling that there's no way that they would come to Finland....!! but: OTHER THINGS HAPPENED!!! <3<3<3

the only joke being an cafe is overrated XD. well. a lot of people thinks that X doesn't deserve the attention they are getting. i find it funny =P
Bird's Nest seems cancelled, but I understood Yoshiki will keep trying to perform there, or at least somewhere else.
i've read from the news a couple of threads down that yoshiki rejected the suggested venue of some shanghai concert hall. i think yoshiki want to create history by being the first band at the bird nest XD
-
In Finland there is way more j-rock fans than in Sweden : ) I think that bands wouldn't come to Finland so often if in Sweden there were more fans. And in Finland has been... 20-30 bands? I don't excatly even know : D : D (btw I was very surprised when I noticed that Hypno comes from Estonia : D )
[off]And I heard Swedish fans were throwin' bottles onto the stage when Dir en grey was performing, so if you would be a manager of a band would you take your band to Sweden or Finland after hearing that, and when the fact is that more people listen to j-rock in Finland? And hey, you have easier to survive in Finland 'cause people here understand what you're saying. ; D
And that An Café, which you said is very popular in Sweden, has two gigs in Finland and one in Sweden. That popular Dir en grey had two gigs in Finland and in Sweden one. I don't mean to say you're absolutely wrong, but I wanted to just reming you of some facts.[/off]
-
Aah, so the show in thailand will be after March ... I'll spend more money for it! :)
-

I was at Dir en grey and I saw no bottles at the event.
Also, Miyavi, An Cafe, Dir en grey and LM.C sold out here, even if there was only one show, there were loads of fans who couldn't go. The bad thing here, though, is that if the bands don't sell out as fast as New Nippon wishes, they cancel the concert, which is one of the reasons why I don't want X to come.
-
I hope i'll manage to come to one concert...but for that i need the exact European dates!!:PXD
-
They have Korean concerts in late March followed by several asian concerts and the US concerts before coming to Europe, so at least they won't come here before summer. I hope to be able to go to at least two of the concerts. The one in Finland is given though!
I find it hard to believe that they will end their tour in Beijing, the tour final will probably be in Tokyo Dome. I wonder if they will announce even more concerts?
-
Beijing would be the best for the final! They would do something no one did before them...
-

You mean if they perform at Bird's Nest?
-
Yes ^^
-
Great news for those European countries.
I know they won't but I wish they'd come to New Zealand, or at least somewhere in Oceania..
-
Why do "World Tours" never include the southern hemisphere?
Toshi singing about carbon offsets in South America doesn't count.
-
Why do "World Tours" never include the southern hemisphere?
Toshi singing about carbon offsets in South America doesn't count.
Because the Southern Hemisphere holds only 10% to 12% of the human population and besides Australia (and NZ) it has only most of South America and 1/3rd of Africa :P
-
Well seeing that there's significant fanbases in the southern parts of Asia like Indonesia/Singapore/etc. I thought we might get some lovin'.
-
Since there has already been some discussion going on about dates for 2009 world tour, I did a quick translation of the end roll part at Countdown gig 2008.12.31 Akasaka Blitz:
2008...because of the support of all of you we were able to do x japan concerts again.
and 2009...even though wen don't know how far we will be able to do this, we will challenge the World Tour with all our bodies and soul.
Of course hide will be going with us.
Even though the journey ahead my be bearing many difficult ways, further various problems [not quite sure about the kanji, right now, somebody else with jap. lang. knowledge check this please] may stand in out way...
the people the came here to this place and all those fans that are watching this right now, whatever will happen, we think we will be going forward.
This year we returned to the beginners heart [shoshin ni kaette, the lives title] in the true sense and we will step by step continue down the road infront of our eyes.
We thank you for always supporting X Japan.
We really, really appreciate this.
And from here on we will share the own destiney as a group [group means X and the fans; unmeikyoudoutai]
This year will be an amazing year for everybody.

Note: I take full responsibility for any mistakes. If you find any mistakes, please post them.

MillieQOF, I said I heard about people throwin' bottles onto the stage = rumour, because I surely wasn't there. : D
Yeah, all those concerts sold out quickly in Finland too, although three of those bands had two gigs in Finland. I was attending Miyavi and Dir en grey and will be attending LM.C, btw. : D
-
I guess no Australia to be expected..
Well I'll be happy with the best of + new song or more new music at least.
-
MillieQOF, I said I heard about people throwin' bottles onto the stage = rumour, because I surely wasn't there. : D
And so, rumor disproved!
At least from what I saw from my position. I was up front, the only spot I didn't really see was where Kaoru stood. Who would throw bottles at him? :0

Why don't they come to Canada? What about us? >:( I seriously don't want to go to New York or LA
-
Why don't they come to Canada? What about us? >:( I seriously don't want to go to New York or LA
Agreed! Play at the SkyDome in Toronto! Hehe but seriously, it would be silly seeing as New York is not THAT far away and there is already debate whether or not they will even sell out what they have on their plates (Madison Square Garden). I just don't think there is the fan base here in North America, especially Canada, for them to do a Canadian show as well. The SkyDome would be awesome though, it's a 50,000 concert seater...it's like Tokyo Dome to a tee. They would probably go to the Air Canada Center though, it's around 17,000 spots I think.
Oh well, I've been fairly prepared for New York since last April when the announcement was made. Even though it's a little out of the way, it's X and this is almost a once in a life chance.

haha ! X live in... Montreal ! Now that would freakin rock... Montreal is well known as a great city for emerging bands.. although I highly doubt X would ever play here since we have a very low asian population concentration (and let's face it, I assume they are looking into that). Too bad though, Dir en Grey played not too long ago and it was close to sold out (to my utter surprise) with very little promotion. With the proper promo I'm sure it could work out pretty well.
Then again, if NYC can really happen, that's still a shorter roadtrip than lets say... Tokyo

i would prefer the tour to end in Tokyo Dome.. it starts and ends in Japan, just sounds better lol ending it in China seems improper to me. owell.... maybe because the feeling that they will end for good after the tour ends is really strong, so i thought they should end everything at somewhere they belong to.
-

Didn't they give quite strong indication that they would continue in the video message after the countdown live? At least I interpret it like that.

i meant, discontinuing after the world tour ends.. i read from http://www.bxte.info/BXtE.html where it says "..(we) are determined to do the world tour.
" it may be not 101% translated accurately but its something like this yeah?
even so.. you never know what will happen.. for they're X lolz.
do i sound like i want them to break up? no i don't =)
still, their future (after the concert) seems.. 'blur' to me..
-
Well seeing that there's significant fanbases in the southern parts of Asia like Indonesia/Singapore/etc. I thought we might get some lovin'.
they should totally play a mini-gig in singapore since they are already at thailand. it would provide fans at australia etc. to watch the concert. i think aussie fans would rather come singapore than go thailand ^^. (no offence).

agree
-
I'm quite surprised to why they haven't shown any interest whatsoever to perform in Singapore. I'm also under the impression that their fanbase is quite huge there? I was even introduced to X by a Singaporean.

Saw that they are going to play in L.A....I wonder if they will preform at the Hollywood Bowl? I would try to be there if they did. After seeing a DVD with Coldplay preforming there, It would be so cool if X Japan played there. Anyone know if there are any other possible venues that X Japan might choose in L.A? Also any clues as to what month they might be doing the American leg?

I'd imagine the Staples Center would be an option as well...
Anyone interested in doing both the NY and the LA shows?
-
Finland... Wow, that's great. This means I can actually afford going there ;)
I've been working on my thesis so I haven't been cheking x-news lately that much... But this really made my day ;D
-
ill be at ny and la
-
I hope they'll still do a concert in Sweden. But I guess I could go over to finland and see them there as well.

Supachalasai Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand :)

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of WESTERN Canada, Like Vancouver. I live in Alberta and seriously we never see to many Jrock bands coming up this way...the closest is Seattle which is like 15-20 hours away...driving anyways. I don't mind that but I just don't like those cities...sorry...

So, I'm planning on going to the concert in Finland with a group of friends that I've got to listen to X. ;)
The fact that they are coming to Finland is still sinking in, can't really believe I'll actually have chance to see them live in my own home country. :D
Does anyone have a idea on how much the tickets for a X concert usually cost?
And I'm guessing there's no new news on when they'll be coming here?
Thanks!
-
Does anyone have a idea on how much the tickets for a X concert usually cost?
The so-called "Paris tickets" were 45€, If I'm not mistaken.....
-
Wow, that's cheaper than I thought.
-
Wow, that's cheaper than I thought.
It is! I'm so glad they're not over 150 or something, like some bands @_@;

It's not really fair to give them such credit :P
When I bought tickets for the Tokyo Dome show, all of them were over €100. I'm sure the reason they take lower prices in Europe is not to please the fans, but to make sure that more people will attend their shows. After all, they have no idea how many X Japan fans there are here.
-
O___O ONLY 45€?!?!?!
WOHOOOOWWW I*M NOT POOR!!!!!
-

Will you come to paris now? :D

how much do u think the NY tikets will be? Me and my frend r gunna try to save money for it....but my mom said even if we save up enough money she won't take us..... (mayb she;ll change her mind). NY is'nt very far away from where i live, so gas money should be easy to save....
-
Well they said that the European tickets are going to be about 40 Euros each, which leads me to believe that US tickets would be anywhere from 70-80 dollars each. Although I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they were as little as 50 or as much as 120.
-
70-80 for what seat though, I know 2 freinds that went to the HK concert said there were seats selling for as little as 400 hkd, which is about 55 usd but he said there is no point you are so far away from the stadium you are better off watching it on dvd, or whatever. The most expensive tickets were about 1250 hkd which is about 170 usd and he said he sat right in front of yoshiki. The sad thing is he isnt much of a x japan fan, he just went there because his coworker wanted to see them. This is probably the only X show they will ever have in North America, I am willing to shell out money for a good seat.

I'm with you on spending whatever it takes. I don't think the problem will be the price (170 for front row tickets would be absurdly cheap for any other big-name band) rather the ability to get these front row tickets. I believe the last X concert in the Tokyo Dome sold out in something like 11 minutes. Granted, I don't forsee X being able to completely fill Madison Square Garden, but I would think the good tickets would sell out FAST.
-
I've been keeping an eye on the Madison Square Garden schedule and here's what I have concluded so far. MSG looks like it will be going under its renovation during June / July because of a few things...
1. As of now (obviously this can change) there is nothing scheduled for the months of June or July.
2. The Hockey and Basketball seasons are over at that point which are their biggest trade, therefore, a good time to renovate for the next season.
3. The next shows that will go down are in August. One on the 7th (Ricardo somethin' what lol) and then Taylor Swift on the 27th of August.
4. (Just remembered this after posting) If I remember correctly, didn't Yoshiki announce not long ago that they are aiming for July for Paris? This is a huge clue that MSG could be August because Paris and MSG have had their order flipped around many times this past year. I'm willing to bet money they'll hit up MSG in August!
This is still good news for us X fans because it appears that MSG will be ready to go by August and now it's up to X to settle a date. :D I have a feeling we'll know something soon because it seems like Yoshiki likes to give out some news here and there after a live or a big event and Korea is just over a week away! These are just my speculations, feel free to comment or speculate further.
-
This whole thing is getting way out of hand. It seems (and I really hate to say this) that the tour is cursed.
-
it seems that way to me too *shakes head in dissapointment*
Some pple seem to b blaming yoshiki for what's been happening, but i can't let that happen!! this is NOT yoshiki's fault ! this is the managments fault
-
actually it is Yoshiki's fault for trying to gives his fans everything. sometimes a lil more than possible. But thats why i love him. this tour is not cursed. so far we have seen some of the best X live ever. look at the countdown gig. Toshi's voice has never sounded so awsome well not since X-Japan was X. yoshiki drumming is still just as awsome as ever. even with the neck injurys and just to say most drummers probably would have retired by now but not yoshiki hes willing to deal with the pain for us. Pata and heath are also just as good. now with sugizo and what is sugizo he reminds me of what would happen if you morphed yoshiki and hide into one person and poof sugizo. he just as awsome as the rest of them. so i must say this tour is anything but cursed. WE ARE X

How can you say that? How can you say that it's his fault? Is it his fault that management can't pull their heads out of their asses?
Really!
Oh... and by the way... If Yoshiki should retire at 44, shouldn't Roger Taylor retire as well? Roger's nearly 60 and he's still playing. I can list quite a few drummers older than Yoshiki who are STILL playing... despite any injuries

actually it is Yoshiki's fault for trying to gives his fans everything. sometimes a lil more than possible. To be fair, Yoshiki IS part of management....That being said, I agree with Wearex, it's not so simple to just throw together a world tour in even as much time as a year. But I have confidence that all of the announced cities (and perhaps more) will get their concerts in the end. Can't wait.

I didn´t think Wearex316 meant it in a bad way. I guess he was saying that Yoshiki, wishing to give his fans the best, was aiming too high and is now facing the consequences - that maybe his enthusiasm isn´t shared by all, financial and economical difficulties, technical difficulties, and whatelse.

exactly what i was saying its his fault cause he trys to give us so much hell the man just got off a serious neck injury he couldnt get out off bed and then poof in less than a year hes throw all these dates at us.

did i ever say retire NO theres still too much i want to see from him (S.K.I.N. Violet UK) hell i know hes 44 maybe he should calm down on the drums alittle at least let his neck heal as much as it can but no way retire he writes such beautiful piano based songs even if he sat down with Violet UK for a year it would give it time to heal. but anyways id follow Yoshiki and X to the end of the earth anything they do is magic.

To say everything is all his fault isn't being fair. He may be part of the tour management, and he's trying desperately to bring X to a younger/broader fan base.
And it seems that when things start okay... a roadblock comes up. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.. at all. The harder he tries, the more things fall to pieces. I'm more worried about his health and well being than I am the tour at this point.

Actually i think they can easily sell out Madison square garden. and if the do LA itll probably be the staple center which they can easily sell that out to. the have a hugh fanbase in north America. i think it was in long beach California there was a lil hide memorial concert for him. i think people are under estimating the fanbase here in the us.

Maybe you're right, but we'll see. It's just a matter of how many people are willing to travel to either NY or LA for the concert (I'm certainly one of them).
