Any chance of getting a lighter version of this show somehow?

Heath / Re: Heath and "violin bass"
« on: June 04, 2017, 11:35:52 AM »
To be fair the violin bass does look like a violin + bass instrument.
Moreover, bass violin (I didn't know it was misused for double bass) is an instrument used in classic formation (close to cello and all).

I think he means either the classical instrument or the mix between violin and the bass more than a double bass.

Heath / Re: Heath and "violin bass"
« on: June 03, 2017, 11:32:50 AM »
Both are possible imo.

But I think that Heath being a professional musician he didn't mix the two instruments (but still possible considering how close the two terms are, and in one country one term can mean the other and vice versa).

Must be fun to see him play violin bass ^^

It also says that this idiot went from the hospital straight to the recording studio after he woke up and wanted to work, and was persuaded by the staff to go home and be under medical supervision.

Yeah, the main problem between Yoshiki and his recovery is himself. He really needs to listen to his doctors for once (and yeah have a doctor follow him everywhere might help haha).

It makes me thinks of when Yoshiki runs everywhere during Orgasm (the 15mn long live version) and the bodyguard just had to follow him wishing he doesn't do something dangerous or stupid xD

Yeah, not to bash Yoshiki, but I think he's not that natural looking compared to the other but at least it's not too much I guess.

And obviously Heath could put on a little weight ^^

Even without the anecdotes, it's nice to hear Heath talking haha It's not something we're really used to sadly...

Of course, the make-up make him prettier, that's the whole point in the end but I still think that without it he's a bit more handsome than any 50 year old Japanese guy. I agree with you about his smile! A big plus indeed.

As for the other member, of course they all aged and it's more and more visible (it's normal though). I remember when the I.V. PV got released in 2007 and I thought "Wow it looks like they just got out of the Last Live and came here" (mostly because of Toshi who looked kind of Last Live although the years after 97 he didn't look good at all, that was a nice surprise).

Now, 10 years later, they're more like 50 yo guys and I always wonder how hide would have look like nowadays!

I think, apart from the bassist being less flashy and all, taking Taiji's place musn't have been easy and thus there was a decision not to show too much of him at first? Just a thinking. Or, of course, not, I don't know x)

It's a shame since he's now the prettiest member imo (hide was n°1) and has some nice outfits kind of old days ^^

And since it's a global appreciation thread: I just love the song clock work life! <3 ()

Everything has been said for the drama I guess so I'm not going to comment more on it right now.

As for the surgery, I hear you Kasumi but iirc the last time the surgery was on the topic (2 years ago or even last year?) it was already kind of point of non return.

So, while we can all agree on a neck surgery non being appealing, I think it was already necessary at that time. Scary as it is, the situation last time was already appalling (numbness and sort of paralysis) and should have been, imo, a sufficient red flag to undergo surgery then. Of course, it's up to Yoshiki but I think he should listen to his doctors/surgeons more often and not wait 'til it might be too late someday... And stop with the "I don't feel my hand but I'm still gonna rock!" Nope, just heal yourself man, we'll wait, we are pretty good at that now haha

Yoshiki / Re: Impending postponement/delay

I agree with what has been said.

What pisses me also is that, yes he knew for years he has to do something but not so long ago, just before the Pata situation Yoshiki said something almost as alarming as the press release of 2 days ago: something about feeling numbess, not able to move his band (EDIT: I meant "hand" but the error is really funny considering X Japan actions at that time xD) and so on...
And at that time, we were really concerned and worried and hoped for him to do the surgery right now because if not the risk of him not being able to play music ever again was high. Who cared about the releases (which were not happening anyway)?

But he didn't do it. Then the Pata situation postponed everything for a whole years (and, guess what, Pata did take care of himself and he seems fine now). Y still didn't do a thing.

So, I guess that self destructive vibe he has is also part of who he is but because of that kind of attitude, we are just numb to that sort of news anyway... Well, we do care about him (I do anyway) and it's a worrying situation but the whole situation and the way it was dealt with from day one is just terrible. A terrible mess.

Seriously, he had years to do it and now that the band seems to have kind of a new start, this happens...
Until we meet again """new""" album now I guess?

Of course, it's a good thing, I guess, for his health. We knew that, at some point, Y would have had to do something about it but still it's bugging.

Well, we're kind of used to it by now anyway. Get well soon anyway! I hope everything will go safe and well...

I like it too! And it's "funny" to see it on May 2nd...

Albums/Singles / Re: X JAPAN New Album(When??)
« on: April 12, 2017, 02:23:15 PM »
I truly think the album is going to be out this year though BUT I'm just dumbfounded that in April we still get the same bullshit informations we already know for YEARS!

Even for the worst-management-ever this band had for the past years and the lack of communication, with the We are X movie + soundtrack and, finally, the communication around it + the 10 years of the reunion of the band, if they still fail to release the not-so-new album, well, I don't know, I guess the re-hope I felt this last weeks/months will just fade away and I'll be feeling like the 2011-2016 era.

"Mixing and mastering" yeah so basically the only thing is that the songs are written and composed, that we already know for 8 years so...

Albums/Singles / Re: X JAPAN New Album(When??)

Yeah it's like this song never happened... But it's a nice one imo, another soft song sure but nice nevertheless.

I don't think it'll be on the album but it'd be a more "new" song than most of them haha

Hero and I.V. were on soundtracks too (but, yeah, maybe SLS was purely done for this movie and that's all, which would be sad).
I'd rather have them rehabilitate SLS and ditch Hero which I think suits more VUK than X Japan.

Well that's great news indeed!

Once again "World Tour" for X Japan could mean Japan and a little bit of China or Taiwan and that's it haha

Hope they'll do a proper World Tour though :)

And if they announce some concerts in July, we can hope for the album to be released by then, no?

Not about the concert in itself but I just stumble upon an article in Le Monde (a very known french newspaper).

I'd never thought I'd find such an article in that newspaper, makes me happy :)

It really feels like a palliative album...

I'll revise this judgement if the "new" album is released in the same time but even if it's the case, I don't see the point of this soundtrack (except, you know, money) since they could easily put LA VENUS and Without You on the "new" album and get it over with (which they might do anyway).

I know they kind of work a lot on the promotion of the movie ("a lot" as in comparison with what they've done the last 10 years with X Japan) and to release a soundtrack album along with the movie is a good call I guess? But it still feels rushed and palliative. I mean it's a good thing that an album is announced and released within 2 months but it could be just another excuse to not release the "new" album: release the movie + soundtrack, let the new fanbase discovers X Japan and all, and some time later when this new fanbase is established release the "new" album for everyone.

Albums/Singles / Re: X JAPAN New Album(When??)

So it's still supposed to be released in March, as I thought ; official at least.

But considering that this message was 2 months ago and since then, not much happened, it would be a surprise if the album is eventually released in a month... Plus, the soundtrack release as more or less an excuse for an potential postponement (that's how I feel it anyway).

Albums/Singles / Re: "WE ARE X (Movie)" Original Soundtrack
« on: January 29, 2017, 08:34:50 PM »
So basically, I kind of feel we get this soundtrack as an excuse if the real "new" album is postponed again for eons...
But, there's no official postponement of the "new" album yet, no? It's still supposed to be released in March? I don't remember if an official date was announced when the last postponement occurred.

In the end, if LA VENUS and Without You are on this soundtrack, there'll be only KTS that'll be a "new" song on the "new" album?
I mean, we already knew that most of it would be already heard but the fact that the newest song (LA VENUS) will be released already at the time of the album being released (if ever...), it's just sad.

As for Yoshiki not sleeping for 80+ hours, and still being recording songs 2 days ago on an album 90% done since 2010...  *sight*
