... during Dahlia Final 1996.

I understand he was greatly moved and happy to be back with everyone for the traditional Tokyo Dome concert (after a rather difficult year, with Yoshiki getting injured in March and everything). But I have always wondered why Yoshiki chose to play Dahlia during Toshi's speech. Why exactly that song, do you think it has some significance?

The setlist is decided before the concert even begins, or what do you mean?

I mean the moment when Toshi speaks to the audience and Yoshiki decides to give him a little background. He starts playing refrain from Dahlia on the piano and Toshi starts crying.
Perhaps he would cry even without the song, though, moved as he was.

I think it's not odd at all that he cries. Pretty deep/emotional stuff played during his speech.
