TOKYO Michael Jackson visited a pachinko parlor in Shibuya on Monday night. The 47-year-old singer, who is referred to by the Japanese media as simply Michael, played on a machine that features his character and got excited when he hit the jackpot.
Earlier, Jackson attended a welcome party under heavy security in Minami Aoyama. He arrived at the site at 9 p.m., wearing his sunglasses. Among the 100 specially invited guests were the president of Avex Records, Masato Matsuura, and his wife, former X-Japan member Yoshiki, the Kano sisters, Tetsuji Tamayama and Arisa Mizuki.
Jackson greeted each guest one at a time, shaking their hands, and saying "I love you" with a smile. After dinner, he posed for photos and went into a separate room for a chat with the Kano sisters. He also had a private chat with Yoshiki.
And in that chat (as Yoshiki revealed at otakon) Michael was curious about his wrist supports. And even though they were medical Michael thought they were totally awesome, and Yoshiki ended up giving him the wrist supports.
