I think this deserves it's own topic!

So, with the Jade single to be released in March, there came another piece of news which went more unnoticed by X fans than the general media. X Japan in fact signed a 3 year contract with the big music company EMI. "We are so honored to have X JAPAN as part of the EMI / CAROLINE family. After the highly successful North American tour last fall, the timing is perfect for the upcoming X JAPAN release" , says EMI s executive vice-president and general manager Mike Harris. Added Executive Vice President EMI Music Services North America, "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with X JAPAN. They have cultivated a strong following in the U.S. and we look forward to working with them, helping to reach even more fans."

I personally think that this is a big and important step. Now Yoshiki has some big guys breathing into his neck all the time, so we hopefully will see less delays and postponements in the future.

They shouldn't have signed a 'year' contract but a contract about a certain number of albums (full of new material, so no compilations), that would have been better :D

a contract means releases, right? I'd be happy to see any "new" release - be it old or new -  by now :D

Well such albums usually include a certain number of releases as well. I'm not aware of any details, but I expect this one to be no exception. A time limit combined with a set (or minimum) amount of releases is the best option in my opinion :)

At least EMI will get on his arse about a release date. He's working to their schedual now, not his own, for once.

At last, maybe now i'll be able to walk into my local music store and be able to buy an X album off the shelf. That'll be my dream come true.

Yoshiki on guitar? Isn't that a mistake and being piano?

Jade has no piano, so I guess Yoshiki played some guitar on it (the acoustic one?)

Yoshiki on guitar? Hmmmm, interesting. Why do you suppose Yoshiki performed guitar if he has Pata and Sugizo to play for him?

Maybe it is a mistake... :/

Jade has NO piano? x_x Did I miss something?..... *confused* I still hope it's a mistake. *Yoshiki playing guitar would be nice though*

That's right. There is no piano in Jade. Yoshiki plays the harp/acoustic string in it :)

I could be wrong but I think the acoustic guitar in Jade is actually a guitar sounding  synth/keyboard. Similar to that on Dahlia.

It's great to know the orchestration was real and not synth or MIDI.

And done by David Campbell, too. He's a really well known musician and has done A LOT of orchestral arrangements for huge artists and top selling albums.

I guess the intro (and some parts of the song) were cut from the single release. You can't, or I wouldn't, release a 8 minutes song. And if not, it must be a mistake ^^

I prefer it without the Piano introduction, always have, it seems a little pointless and out-of-place.

Agreed, not sure if its really needed. It doesn't sound right to me because I always listen to this version of Jade...

Best version in my opinion.

Any word on whether the Jade single will be available in physical copy in North America, or just over iTunes or whatever? I'd like to get my hands on a physical copy, personally.

Since they are labelling it as the first single in 15 years, I guess it will be a physical release, since we already had a single released on iTunes 3 years ago.
