I agree with you Beauty/Broken. I stumbled across that video on YouTube last night and was really excited because it looks to be a full MV but I was disappointed how bad it sounds. This might just be me but I don't think Jade will go down as well as I.V (has so far) and Born to Be Free. I honestly cannot make out half the things Toshi is singing about; his English pronunciation is quite good but on Jade it's just baaad, I'm sorry =/ don't know what they did wrong. I mean shit, I've been listening to X/X Japan for like 5-6 years now and could even make out his "Engrish" during the X days! Art of Life was another great example and that was like 17 years ago. In terms of their latest songs I'd definitely say in terms of quality and pronunciation: I.V. , BTBF , Jade. (I think BTBF will be the best of the three once a full studio version is released, I LOVE that song right now, it's great)
*Also! after just watching it again, WTF were they thinking during some of these shots? The highest most epic part of the song @ 2:52-2:56 where Toshi sings "where I still believe" in his beautiful pitch, his body emotion for that scene NOT how one would be when belting out something like that. He's barely pretending to speak into the mic during that part. Ugh, that's just baaad. Also, I'm pretty sure Yoshiki's still got those dreadful Midi's playing. It's funny because they said they plan on releasing Jade as the first single in the U.S or whatever, that is a disgrace, like how can you steep from HIGH production values in the past to something that sounds like Garageband. I'll always love X Japan but Jade has just rubbed me the wrong way.
