Sumire-gumi
I’ve been having conversations with Yoshiki very often - by far most often in our 40 years relationship.

In Japanese kindergartens/preschools, it is common to use flower names as class names.
Yoshiki and Toshi belonged to the same class “sumire-gumi”, and they’ve known each other since then.
So, “sumire-gumi” is a word that represents their friendship that has been going on since their early childhood.
Toshi occasionally uses this word when he talks about Yoshiki.
