Water Throw - How or when did it begin?

In their concerts Toshi and Yoshiki always throws with water bottles.

I am wondering: did they always that from the beginning of X?
Or are they sponsered by a waterlabel?
Has the waterthrowing a story?
Anybody knows?

I am just curious how that became a tradition that water things and if they did that from the beginning. It is not only on their head, it 's also on the public they do that :-)
Not every band do that weird things :-)

I have seen bands do this quite often (not always throwing water over each other but more over themselves and the crowd).

Ami is right, there is probably no particular reason for it. Its soo hot on stage and they probably just do it to cool down.
