I know this isn't an album or a single, but there's no forum for individual songs so I'll just post here.

Anyone else think this is a kick ass song?  I love songs that try to switch things up and sound new and different.  So much to be said about this song I don't know where to begin.  The singing at the very start reminds me of a southern baptist choir.  I love how it starts slow then goes into some kick ass drum work (and I'm not too good at discerning individual instruments but is that a bit of harmonica I'm hearing? It's a nice touch to the song), then how after the drum work it has a lot more power and speed than in the start.  The rest of the song is great too.  Anyone else agree?

: Would you jump off a bridge just because everyone else was doing it?
A: Yes, because the pile of bodies would break my fall.

Well, it's composed by Taiji, so in one way I wouldn't be wondering the western-stylishness. ^^

This song is great. The PV made it more tense and exciting.

Oh thank you! I have been wondering ever since I heard it who composed it! :P

Actually, the first time I heard this song... as soon as I heard the choir-sounding part at the beginning I freaked out. I said "THIS ISN'T X!!" And I almost deleted it. But I kept listening and I'd know Toshi's voice a mile away.

I still didn't like it for a long time. It was just so WEIRD! But now I've been listening to X a lot lately, and I realized... that I absolutely ADORE this song! It has become one of my favorites, over time.

Sorry for the long story :P It just amuses me how even the X songs I don't favor at first always end up being my favorites after a short time. XD

Lady, lady are you ready to go?
Why do you have to be laying down?

I'm not such a fan of it. Before I heard Taiji composed it, I thought it was made for appealing to the western world, I guess that made its mark~

Taiji composed it and Toshi wrote the lyrics for it, hehe. Toshi was such a little rascal on his X lyrics.

the little harmonica bit in the beginning, so rock and roll
I only wish there were more taiji songs, enough said

great lyrics too, kind of idealistic even I'd say
especially "love you cannot buy" and "sell me this sell me that don't want none of your fucking crap"

Totally agree about the harmonica and the "more Taiji songs". 8)

And I really like Toshi's scream in this too.  Really cool somehow.

Great song, and it always makes me wonder if X would have continued in this musical direction had they kept Taiji...

Yeah, I think so... that's one of the reasons why I'm pissed off because he left XD

I love Desperate Angel, because there's so much speed in this song. It blows you away.

Well, if he had left of his own accord I wouldn't care much, but it annoys me to no end that Yoshiki kicked him out.  And you can see what an important part of the band he must have been by how much it changed after he was gone.

But yeah, I also think that if he had stayed, we would have seen more Desperate Angel-type stuff.  And what's interesting is that (to me anyway) the song really sounds about halfway between X's style and DTR's style already.  With just a few modifications I can nearly imagine this as a DTR song...

Same here... If the main riff was a little heavier and the harmonica piece was a little bigger I would definitelly see it as a D.T.R song...

I really love Desperate Angel... It's definitelly one of my favorite X tracks ever and together with Voiceless Screaming, one of the tracks that made me an X fan...

Totally agree.  I wonder if you'd even need to change the riff itself, or just play it with a heavier/dirtier guitar sound?

Can completely imagine this with Mitsuo's "Rumpelstiltskin" voice...

I don't think changing the riff itself would be necessary... Since this is a Taiji song probably the riff was his idea, so I guess it would be the same riff if this was written with D.T.R. instead of X...

And yeah, I always pictured D.T.R doing a cover of this song... It would kick major ass on Mitsuo's voice!
