"Dear Fans and Friends of Don S. Davis,

So many of you have been touched by not only the work and art of Don S. Davis, but by the man himself, who always took the time to be with you at the appearances he loved, that it is with a tremendous sense of loss I must share with you that Don passed away from a massive heart attack on Sunday morning, June 29th.

On behalf of his family and wife, Ruby, we thank you for your prayers and condolences. A family memorial where Don's ashes will be scattered in the ocean will take place in a few weeks, and should you wish to, please make a donation to the American Heart Association in Don's memory."

He was perhaps best known for playing General Hammond in Stargate SG-1. His resume lists over 130 separate projects, ranging from dozens upon dozens of movies, to Twin Peaks, to playing Scully's father in the X-Files.

He's had a wide career and will be missed. I'm gutted that I missed him two weeks ago.

Respectful comments, please.

actually stolen from here

I believe sci-fi fans will recognise him at once, but also people who just watch tv a lot. He was a great actor, imo, very natural and convincing.

RIP :(

Also, here's the link to his art site

...Damn, looks like he was an artist through and through, so many talents.

Oh wow that's sad. I wasn't a big Stargate fan but I remember him from watching it once or so. He mostly sticks in my head as the doctor in Look Who's Talking. The "Your biological clock is ticking".
