Oh, no, completely different genre.

The actor you see in the pic is considered one of the best (if not the best, by some people like me  ;D). He won an oscar for his role in the movie you see on the pic.

Well at least Pleasantville is also black/white (at least parts of it) *g*

So with your hint and after looking through some academy award databases, I'm still not a 100 % sure, but perhaps the guy could be Spencer Tracy?

Nowadays, the actor is a victim of typecasting. His name sounds very European  :P

That picture is tricky, because the actor only looked like that for a very little in the movie. Putting on weight was part of his "method", he was playing an actual person and tried to look as much as possible like said person.
