Yeah you're totally right. When I came to this forum I was amused at the Yoshiki-fanboy/girling, making him an untouchable god, while hide is widely not accepted as being talented, or not accepting him as the person everyone described to be the "big brother" of the band everyone could go to.

I think what's been going on here was disrespectful towards hide, X/X Japan and the members themselves.
I mean, it is not fair to say that every good that's been said about a person was wrong, especially if you haven't met them yourself.
I think as fans, we can only believe what the musicians say about eachother and I think we should, even if they just do it to please us (which I strongly not believe in).

I don't think the hide-bashing was actually directed towards the fandom about him, but rather towards him as person and musician, but for the reason to show that the people here are SO MUCH BETTER than the stupid unknowing hide-fans... because they dare to say how much he actually sucked

I have had trouble with the poll title, because to call someone a favourite is to me to say who I like or admire the most. I think there's a big difference between who one likes or admires and who for example is the most intriguing.

As my favourite I have picked Yoshiki. Why? Because I think he's great in so many ways. As a musician, as a drama queen, as a business person and as a composer. I can't say enough nice things about Yoshiki, he's truly aweinspiring. Go Yoshiki!

Now I would like to see another poll that asks who intrigues me the most. Hands down my vote for that will be hide. I'm still trying to figure him out, there are so many questions. I love his weirdness and his beautiful face and also wonder where all the darkness comes from, there's no denying any of it. And I guess I would like to know more about what he was like as a person as well, as it probably would explain a lot. Was everything a mask for something else? But enough about that, that's another discussion.

Hmmm... This is hard!
I... think it's a tie between Yoshiki, Toshi and hide... Lately I've been more into Toshi (hense the icon), but I originally started off as a hide fan. Then I got into Yoshiki, which sparked more interest in X Japan, and then as I grew to appreciate them more, I began to really like Toshi after realizing most of those rumours aren't true.

They all have interesting personalities, to say the least. I can appreciate Yoshiki's bitchiness (haha), hide's mild insanity and Toshi's wimpiness (haha, again).
(Of course, I absolutely adore all the other members, too!)

Being a guitarist I would say that my member I most adore has to be hide, he just embodies what a great guitarist is for me with his ability and his colourful charisma. The guy is unique and while he is not the most skillful guitarist of all time, he is up there with my other favourites (Pata is there too of course with his technical ability and rhythm parts).

But in truth I adore and respect each member and ex members as brilliant musicians and I might think differently if I played another instrument.

I chose Yoshiki, becausae recently I've been reading his blog and I have started thinking him as a very happy and positive person though all the hard times he's been through. When you're reading his blog, you can't help laughing

But the main reason I chose Yoshiki is the fact he has written most of the songs.

"Guess what..... I just ate one of the best ICE CREAMS I've ever had, and it's low carb..... I don't think life is that bad..... "

"But the funny part was….. The trailer for my dressing room and the place where we shot the photos were pretty far apart.

So I had to walk back and forth, on a pretty busy street, in downtown L.A.

With scars, and clothes with a lot of blood….. People were freaking out…... and in the evening there was a car accident in between those 2 locations….. then I walked in with my body covered in blood….. police officers were staring at me….. and …................. well, I just smiled!!"

Those are parts from Yoshiki's myspace... And they make me always smile

i chose hide . .
i don't know why but in bands i usually fall for the lead guitarist.
like gazette uruha, guns n roses slash. and blah blah.
its not about the guitar really. cos if its just holding the guitar i can choose bass players too.
i think i can relate a lot to hide. but that's for me to know.
i loved seth et holth.
and we almost have the same birthday ^ ^
but anyway i love hide more than these lame reasons.
when i first heard of X --- i've already got my eyes on the pink haired guy.
and came to love him more as i got to know him more.

Basicly I think he's a great guitarist; Pata is awesome too but my vote goes to hide for his uber-cool style, and the way he holds his pick :O

Well you can't replace good old dog with a new puppy either, or even compare them.
Don't take that literally, haha, though Heath does have a sweet puppy-face. 8D
And I'm not saying that I wouldn't like Heath... He had a big hole to fill in X.
And he did it pretty well. He's great!

I wish that Yoshiki and Taiji has better relations towards each other nowadays.
Taiji is surely made of hard rock! \o
He'll survive, but bad relationships are nasty, especially with great memories from past.
