Mitsuo Takeuchi

Obscure question, but: does anyone know if it's significant that Mitsuo's name is now consistently ahead of Taiji's whenever the DTR members are listed?

All the albums have Taiji's name first, Mitsuo's second. I didn't even notice until just now, but Wisdom/Lucifer has Mitsuo first, Taiji second. It's also Mitsuo first, Taiji second on the profile and links pages on the official site. The rest of the guys' names remain in the same order.

I know vocalists tend to be listed first anyway, but he wasn't before. He's also in the center of all the photos now (which I didn't think was at all unusual-- he's the vocalist-- until I noticed the name thing). I guess it's probably not significant, but it made me wonder if the band's leadership has transferred from Taiji to Mitsuo or something like that.

Well, I think it's probably just because he's the lead singer... But what you said is interesting, the fact that his name used to be listed after Taiji's... Maybe they decided to think of D.T.R more as a group and not like Taiji's project, and then Mitsuo's name started to appear first as the lead singer of the band...

But I don't believe about Mitsuo being the "band leader" now... It just sounds weird that something like that would happen...

Really interesting point, Hollywood. Since I don't have the new single I cannot know, but with the pictures and the listings elsewhere you're right as it seems.

I would have another explanation:
D.T.R in the 90s - founded by Taiji
D.T.R's reunion - caused by Mitsuo..? At least it was him who left the band in the 90s and caused the disbanding. So maybe he was the one who made the first step back.

Great theory! I think something like that might really be the reason for it. It would make a lot of sense anyway.

It's times like these that I REALLY wish there were more info about DTR floating around. Taiji doesn't seem to want to talk about the details of it-- at least, he didn't at the time of his book-- and I feel like I don't know much about the band members (other than Taiji of course), their personalities, the circumstances surrounding the band, etc. And I WANT to know this stuff, because I like them and I'm curious like that.

Are there any good Japanese DTR fansites out there? Japanese Wikipedia has some stuff, but not much (and I don't trust Wikipedia anyway unless I see it confirmed elsewhere).

For all you Mitsuo fans, there are some new photos of him in his blog, from a concert a day or two ago with HOT ROD CRUE (one of his other bands).

Hot Rod Crue is still active? Someone told me a while ago that they had disbanded... I still wanna listen to some music from these guys... But especially from Mitsuo's project together with Anthem's Eizo Sakamoto...

Huh, I didn't know they disbanded-- maybe they got back together? I don't know much about them or their history, but to judge from Mitsuo's website, they seem to be active currently anyway.

Not sure, but Kenji Shimizu seems to be a member of it too... The project used to be called "Taisyu Sakaba" (the same name of an Eizo song were Mitsuo appeared as a guest... Guess that's where the idea of this project comes from...)

There's an official site and a blog for this project, but since I can't read nothing in jap, I can't gather any info from there...

Some new photos on Mitsuo's website.

This is from a recent concert event thing at a club, where the members of a bunch of different bands got together to form temporary bands with each other and play cover songs. Apparently all of DTR was there, except for Mr. Sawada.
