I'm curious, does anyone know about the demographics of DTR's fanbase in Japan?

I ask mostly because while they seem (to me anyway) like the kind of band that would appeal to guys, the audience on the live version of So What sounds at least half female.  But since I haven't seen the concert video, it's hard to say for absolute sure.

I know it's not unusual for bands that seem masculine to foreigners to actually have a mainly female fanbase in Japan... but, DTR?  Really?  The music seems fairly rough to me (not that girls can't like rough stuff of course, but you know what I mean), and since the band members' appearance really does not fit the popular ideal of "kawaii bishounen" I don't imagine they attract the kind of fan who's only into appearances.  (Or am I wrong on this?  Would many women in Japan consider them hot?)

Anyway, just curious if anyone knows.

Yeah, listening to "So What"'s live version from "Drive To Revolution" it sounds as there was only girls in the audience... But I haven't seen the video either, so I cant' be really sure...

I don't know as well, but I agree that it must be at least 50% 50%.

As Hollywood said, D.T.R are much more... well.. tough guys? At least it sounds like it should attract more guys. It's a very masculine style in my opinion.

As for the girls you can hear live: I'm afraid those are just Taiji fangirls he kidnapped from the X days.

We're all Taiji fangirls here... Even though not all of us are girls... xD

But seriously, I guess VioletCamicat is probably right... Probably lots of people in D.T.R's concerts had never listened to them before...

Did you have a seat behind the stage then?  Otherwise how did you see the asses? :P  ;)

...But I really want to know what these Taiji fangirls who don't care about the music are like, because for some reason that's funny to me.  He never seemed to me like the kind of guy who attracts fangirls in the way hide and Yoshiki do.  (Of course I'm sure he must have some, but...)

No, I don't have a seat behind the stage. Lucky as I am, Taiji likes to spin around on stage like a little twister! And he's not the only one who moves much on stage. So many chances to stare at asses then! <3~ Asses rule!

And if and how many fangirls he has - I have no clue. xD Maybe I'm a fangirl, but I cannot say, that I don't care about the music and I don't scream around like a baby.
8) I'm proud to be that polite and cool!

Nah, I wouldn't consider you a fangirl (well, you're a fan and a girl... but "fangirl" is different).

Fangirling is all about the clueless, uninformed squealing-- you know, like at SKIN concerts. ;)

And if he didn't want anyone checking him out then I'm sure he wouldn't have done those photoshoots where he rips his shirt off.
