Hopefully so! As an exchange student, I have the possibility of going for 11 months, from March 2007 until January 2008. But it's gonna be hard. As I don't have the money I must find sponsors and I can't sign the contract unless I got some potential sponsors already (I need my parents signature and they wont sign unless I have some sponsors becouse if it turns out that I won't get the money together I have to pay the company who manages the thing a fine for breaking the contract).

I also started a blog where I hope to update my success and failiures as much as possible. You can find it here: http://prunedjapan.blogspot.com.

If you have a relative who owns a company and who could help, I would really appriciade it.

By the way, the sum needed is about 5555€ or 7020$, so it's not small... I hope to get most of it with the help of sponsors and take a loan maybe on the smaller one.

Is there anything else that might possibly prevent you from going? Like, language ability, problems with re-entering the education of your state when you're back etc.? [I know people have to do comparative exams when back from foreign country, just to prove their level of the subjects is academically peer to what year they are entering back in their country's schoolsystem]

I know English well enough to communicate so no language problems and I would just have to brake off when I'm going and start from the same place when I get back.

I was so more thinking whether some Japanese level wouldn't be required.

Because, all of my friends I know of that were to Japan in some "official" way [exchange programs...] had at least intermediate level of Japanese when going to Japan, not risking that people would automatically know English; PanthereNoire or somebody currently residing in Japan might be able to correct me on that one, but I've heard there are some problems with English learning for Japanese, especially to Japanese older generation [which wouldn't be surprising- quite frankly, how many seniors have the capability and will to learn a new language in such an age?] and as well in schools and families stays it [Japanese] is a must....

Hehe thanks for your concern... Tho I didnt manage to get any sponsors so I wont be going... Unless in maybe university :P

And the company is reliable, it works in like 50 or so countries and it mostly consists of voulenteers who have been to an exchange year themselves...

And I'd get into some family (would help to learn Japanese alot there) who are required to feed me and give me a normal bed :P the $7,000 would mostly cover travelling fees and finding me a family and such...

Thanks anyway :)

It's a date then! :D:D (I'v been watching too much animes lately :P )

And very nice of you to buy me a coffe... Becouse as much as I figure, coffe there costs a day's work here ($17 is what I got in summer for a day, and that's quite reasonable, my mother makes about the same). :D

But anyway, I'd REALLY love to go to Tokyo, I really would... Might even concider it after a few years when I have a good job somewhere :P

PN, thank you,
I've heard about this [not speaking when knowing] about a younger generation [mean, something like in their 20's or such], although I wasn't sure about the problems for the *older* generation [not just older than 20, I meant more so the seniors, again]. I think you clarified something to me, thank you.

Congratulations ahead both to Hypno's Grandgrandfather and PN's oldest friend-- it's a blessing to live to that age in health, me thinks ;]

And while you go treasure hunting and to have coffee, I'd be thinking of you, okay? So if your heads hurt, it's not a bad coffee, it's because of Val thinking too much of you-- and now you know ;P

And now me was embarassed as hell, but thanks for pointing that out :D

*makes some edit*

la la la, I'd really like to live in a gender less world at times. Hypno, I'm sorry ;]

And no, PN, the other person in that message was meant to be you, and-- you are a gal, at least by body, right? ;] [I am really confused about genders, and not just while writing this post.]

Ah, I know about this age thingy-- it seems like when I'm trying to apologize, I only make things worse ;o So, pardon if that suggestion about your age offended you anyhow, pls.

And, when we're at delicious thoughts.... Are they too personal or is it something topic related that could be shared? ;]

*at first, when I saw the "thinking delicious thoughts" part, I was thinking we're in a topic about Yoshiki. But no, I checked three times, it doesn't seem to have anything about Yoshiki in there. *shrugs* *

What's wrong with Kokoro-chin in bikinis :D That's the most ecchi part in the anime :P (Aishiteruze Baby or Aishiteru Ze Baby :P ). I could edit it abit tho... So it wouldn't be so... 'obnoxiously offensive' :)

Oky sorry for the doublepost, but here is the remastered edition of kawaii Kokoro-chin in bikinis, the less 'obnoxiously offensive' version (for you to certainly note the differences I will post them both):

New version:

Perhaps Hypno doesn't, but I do, and pretty often. :P Though I don't write porn as some people I know. Usually my writings are just.. well, filled with a little deeper friendships.

Anygays, have fun in Japan, I'll be there in one and half years, hopefully. :P

Well, I have written X fanfiction in Finnish and my fics are on Finnish fanfiction board. :P I usually write about two X pairings (Taiji/Pata, Yoshiki/Toshi - my favorites) but I have also written a short hide fanfic and some others. I try to write also non-yaoi, and that hide fanfic is an example for my non-yaoi texts. I can try to translate some into English if you want to read, but it's a rude fact that my native language is Finnish and then English might look like pretty.. ugly.

Haha, so then I'm really smart because I can speak and read five languages or like that :P Well, my German is only the basics and French and Swedish aren't as fluent as English and Finnish. But it's five languages still, and I probably start Japanese at school next year when I have more time.

Yaoi = men/men (homosexual) relationships. And yaoi fanfiction is fantext including homosexual relationships and especially sex. For example pairing Yoshiki and Toshi and make them have sex with each others. That's f.e. yaoi fanfiction. :)
