At least they didn't anounce a break up... S.K.I.N. might be on hold, but that only means, that we've got to wait...

I think if we see anything further from S.K.I.N., it will probably be something along the lines of what we've seen from L'arc en Ciel in recent years -- the whole one year on, one year off bit since everyone has other things they want to be involved with as well.

But, I'm not holding my breath waiting for an album.  Or a DVD, or anything else.  Miyavi hasn't announced any big plans for 2009, but Gackt has a huge tour coming up, and Yoshiki has several concerts with X, and I think IF anything happens next year, it will be late in the year.

Hmmm, do you really think their first concert is worth a DVD...? >.>

My guess now is very late 2009 or half 2010.... or it might be very well 2025.... x'D

May X be with you!

The Concert is definetely worth a DVD. It's got those four guys on one stage performing together...enough said  ;)

well, seriously, I'd be happy if there were at least a TV broadcast or even a good quality bootleg.
I just want to own that. ;D

Here is something Sugizo said in a new Interview

Since Luna Sea you’ve done a lot of collaborations, a lot of work with other people, and I wanted to check in on the current status of some of them. What happened with SKIN?
Well of course we’re going to continue.

Have you guys all just been too busy doing other things?
Yes, very busy, but all the members want to continue. I don’t know when, maybe next year we can all join again.

Quelle

Something miyavi wrote in one of his blogs on 08/12/28 makes me hope a bit, that they all at least have met...

"I'm gonna go play guitar for a bi~t!

As a guitarist from "S.K.I.N""

Guess you can find some of the concert-footage on youtube, don't know if there's a proshot in circulation.

Just read a comment from miyavi about S.K.I.N:

What ever happened to S.K.I.N.?

miyavi: That’s a very good question. (laughs) It’s still alive. I want to do it so badly so we’ve been trying to make it happen, but, you know, Yoshiki is doing X JAPAN, Sugizo’s doing his stuff too and Gackt is too. I’ve been doing my world tour. Someday. Someday! I don’t know. Ask Yoshiki. (everyone laughs)

It's copied from X Boards, where Miyavi wordfilters to cockmongler. What a lovely board.

Holy moly.

I'm gonna resist saying "SKIN LIVES!", as it sounds like a completely impromptu and trivial jam between Yoshiki, Sugizo and Miyavi.

I wonder what he's talking about now.... I have the impression that he's often talking crap when it comes to SKIN >< I mean, it wouldn't be the first time that he's like OMG SKIN IS ALIVE as the only one of the "band" :P

Well, either way... doesn't sounds very alive here actually...

I wouldn't put any hopes behind that, and I really don't think he means to give any hopes either. It just sounds as if they started playing some songs together, that's all.

I quite like his humor :P

"Something happened"

A.K.A - Gackt and Yoshiki fell out, big time - and haven't spoken since.

Gackt flew to LA for visit YOSHIKI after his surgery last year. He wrote on his blog, they had some fun together. At least, he joked about YOSHIKI's collar brace. They laughed together so much.

well! well! I don't think everyone serious with S.K.I.N, right ? This project has sounded so impossible since the beginning.

BTW, I think they maybe have some fun together with a show of S.K.I.N. in the future, who knows!

As Miyavi stated in his interview with the PurpleSKY Magazine, the idea behind S.K.I.N. in the beginning was that it'd be Yoshiki's last band and he wanted to go out with a big bang (which the band would've been had they decided to continue), but apparently X came back together and everyone continued with their own projects.

Apart from one smaller (or maybe even bigger) gig sometime when they are all old, or maybe a DVD release 10/15/20/... years after they played together, I don't really see any other possible action from there.

I agree!!!

I always think of S.K.I.N. as a group of (very talented) friends just having a jam session of sorts! It didn't really seem too serious and it was sort of just for fun! Although that is just my impression of it all - I don't really know as all I have ever seen are a few dodgy youtube clips!

I think they should release the 7 or 8 songs they recorded... it's enough for an album, right? om i tunes maybe. or if the band's not to serious they could just upload them on a myspace page or something.
I really want to hear the songs and not just some screaming fans
