Dahlia Tour / The moment when Toshi cries...
« on: April 27, 2007, 03:12:21 PM »
I mean the moment when Toshi speaks to the audience and Yoshiki decides to give him a little background. He starts playing refrain from Dahlia on the piano and Toshi starts crying.
Perhaps he would cry even without the song, though, moved as he was.

... during Dahlia Final 1996.

I understand he was greatly moved and happy to be back with everyone for the traditional Tokyo Dome concert (after a rather difficult year, with Yoshiki getting injured in March and everything). But I have always wondered why Yoshiki chose to play Dahlia during Toshi's speech. Why exactly that song, do you think it has some significance?

Eh... I was merely passing a joke, not reconstructing history or anything.
There's no need for any of this.  :?

Toshi:  tomcat

I know it sounds slightly weird, but I think he has a kitty-like mouth.

Pata: cat, too

Long, soft fur and big paws. That kind that's usually resting on the best armchair in a lovely spot of sunshine.

Heath: rabbit

He sometimes has that slightly anxious but attentive look.

Taiji: dog

Ruffled, slightly filthy, veteran of many battles - a loveable stray.

hide: lizard (possibly chameleon)

Mysterious, ever-changing animal.

Yoshiki: pony

Weird again, but I think he has slightly horse-like features (especially when he grins)... only not really horse-like, pony-like is better... That cute kind of a pony that's adorned with ribbons.
And he used to gallop a lot, too.  :)

But I've never said he was putting on act or anything like that. I do believe he sincerely enjoyed himself most of the time.
But I also believe that he would find himself in an awkward position sometimes, because should he have his own way, he would do things in a rather more subdued fashion. I called it "conservatism", but only jokingly.

I think the problem wasn't mainly the conservatism, tho possibly a part of it, but all in all it would have been much more helpful, when they would have talked to each other about all those things they personally had a problem with.

Sure thing. I was only joking...

I loved him on that show...
I only wish he stopped wearing dark glasses indoors, someone should tell him (someone else than Hosoki-baba). I mean, it really is unhealthy. And from what Toshi says in his message, he's wearing them even when playing piano in his dark studio.  :x

Perhaps they should have let him release his conservatism little by little back then... boring socks or turtleneck here and there, less of partying and more duck-feeding in the park or whatever, anything that would make Toshi more comfortable.

That's a good idea, Unfinished.
I have lots of cats, so I suppose it wouldn't hurt to go to Offtopic forum and create a topic about our pets...

I simply can't image Yoshiki would settle for less than the best from himself and everybody else involved.

Quite true... He's hellishly demanding. But then, he's a Princess. He can afford it.

But then I also like to think that despite all the pain in it it ALSO is a love song that Yoshiki wrote for the person who dried HIS tears.

Agree completely.

I really like the way he looks now... I mean, it's much better than the past few years.
But then, I think it was rather natural... (no pun intended) I mean, it's just my theory, but I think Toshi is rather conservative, always been. At least it seems he used to be a good and obedient child, always at the top of the class, and his dream was to be a doctor, which is a well-respected profession. But following Yoshiki meant changing his ways completely, at least on the outside. After all, Yoshiki himself said how funny it used to be when Toshi's "ordinary" side showed itself.
What I want to say is, that many years of suppressed conservatism (dangerous thing indeed) led into a tragical outburst of radical haircuts and a whirlwind of checkquered shirts and boring turtlenecks.
Hopefully, he's getting over it.

Being a great cat lover, I was quite happy to find out that Pata keeps cats, but how about the others?

I've read that Yoshiki too loves cats, and that because he naturally couldn't keep a tiger, he demanded an orange striped cat as a child. But he probably doesn't have any pet now, does he?

I've also read that Toshi had a beloved pair of goldfish and Heath kept a rabbit.

As for Pata, that's obvious: Kotetsu and Kotaro. One of them (can't remember which) was in the famous Home Video, a nice furry cat. But I have also seen pictures of Pata and one quite plain looking (but lovely) kitten. Was that the other one or does he keep more cats? Or perhaps it was just there for the sake of the picture...

And what about hide and Taiji?

Oh, thanks!
Actually, it was kind of a civil union (as same-sex marriages do not have the same status as normal ones here), but it was sweet all the same. Forever love seemed to be the only right solution.  :D

Forever Love

In fact, not only listening - we chose it as the 'first-dance' song for our wedding which took place last Friday.  It was priceless. :P

That would be my pleasure...
