Have you tried taking it to your tattoo artist? They might finish it better tattoo-wise, and are usually glad to do it.

I haven't been around much lately myself, so I didn't notice his absence and this came as a total shock when I heard about it. Even though we never met face to face, I very much consider him a friend. I won't forget you Mav.

If they are songs you wrote, then make a topic at the Other Bands -section titled something like "My songs inspired by X" or smth. If they are by someone else, I think we have a topic titled something like "bands that sound like X Japan".

lol. hi there, wick :P

Dark Shadow: what you're hearing is a Fernandes sustainer system, not an effect.
Nope, hide uses lots of effects besides the sustainer. In Dahlia I'm pretty sure the effect is a wah set to a certain position. You can also hear a whammy pedal used at the end of the solo.

Finally I have a chance to do what I've wanted to do for a couple years now, I have a chance to take Cello lessons! I'm really excited, IMO cello has the most beautiful sound in the world.
When will you be joining Apocalyptica then? :P

In two weeks, but as a dancer.

They are pretty good as a band, it's just a shame that the singer obviously hasnt been taught how to sing properly, he sounds like he is going to collapse half the time.

I think he's a decent singer at least, but it's just that Toshis vocal range is different from his, which makes reaching the highest notes really difficult.

General chat / Re: New song?
« on: August 31, 2009, 01:45:02 PM »
lol, its funny, u guys said that, jade similiar to i.v, and then said that yoshiki getting repetitive and no creativity. and then now u guys want more stuff like blue blood and kurenai?its the same thing if he make a new song like kurenai of blue blood, u guys will say that yoshiki getting repetitiv again, lol.

i want new happy songs from X

The songs on Vanishing Vision, Blue Blood and Jealousy had a certain diversity. Accoustic songs, heavy songs, ballads.
That has evolved to all semi-rock songs with a nice chorus, and a lot of ballads. THAT's what's annoying me.
I don't want to start the Taiji discussion again, but I do think that he had a lot of good influence in the music. Toshi, too.
Now it's always Yoshiki writing the songs. That's pretty stupid, since the other guys have already proved in the past they can write kickass songs too.

That's what's bothering me. ::)

I'm not even bothered by the lack of diversity, what's bothering me is the lack of maturity and ambition in Yoshikis composing. Listen to the guitar riff in Jade, I wouldn't be surprised if a 15 year-old Timmy from Miami, been playing guitar for almost two years now, would say "Sounds a lot like the first guitar riff I ever wrote!". The choruses sound good yeah, but the chord progressions have been used over and over and over again, even by Yoshiki himself. Where are the cool key changes of Blue Blood? The neat little guitar riffs and tricks like in I'll Kill You, Kurenai etc.? Where is the ambition of Rose of Pain and Art of Life? Sure you can compose a good song by simple little tricks, but I'd like to see some ambition Yoshiki.

there's always gotta be one asshole don't there. if you dont like him him why bother to write anything. unless you wanted to piss everyone off. and i don't care if any one dos not like what i say. but MJ was my childhood soundtrack and my idol growing up. i have nothing but the highest respect for him. he might not have been the sainest man but who cares. all the pedo shit was false. he has taken such a bad rap for so long now. its time to remember his music not the bullshit the media wanted you to believe. so leave the negative shit out of here. show some fucking respect for the members of this site. but that's the problem everyone always thinks of themselves.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson you moonwalked in to our hearts now your moonwalking in heaven. music will never be the same.

Oh yeah, I'm such an asshole for stating my opinion. Or wait... that's what messageboards are for, right? Stating your opinion..... and stuff?  ::)

I'm pretty sure that accusing someone of being a pedophile is a bit more than just stating your opinion :)

Anyway, RIP Michael Jackson, thank you for your music.

i love it and im tired of people saying it sucks i dont like this i dont like that then dont listen to it no ones making you listen to it. the bass line is sick finally a song that shows heath skills. the lyric are beautiful. you can tell the songs about hide. toshi sings it so well yea he messes up a lil because the song is NEW. i love the song so much i decided to name my baby JADE. remeber how many didnt like I.V. and still dont. plan and simple if you dont like it then just forget the song was even made while the rest of us rock the hell out.
People are allowed to criticise. X Japan is my favourite band and I sure as hell won't just shut up and forget if they make a crappy song, I don't want to hear crappy songs from my favourite band when I see them live etc. If it bothers you so much, just ignore the criticism, it's not aimed towards you anyways.

Ugh, this sounds like a failed attempt to rewrite I.V. I'm really disappointed. The orchestrations are pretty neat I guess, but that's about it. The guitar riffs are ridiculous. Yoshiki, I miss your harmonic guitars and kick-ass drumming. :(

One tip: learn palm-muting. Adds a lot of credibility to your playing. It'll sound a lot tighter and more believable.

For those who are Atheist, you cannot deny there had to be some Celestial Being(s) create the universe
Yes we can. Why couldn't we? Because no one understands exactly how the universe was born or how it works? If we can't truly understand how the universe works, it doesn't mean that it has to be done by something celestial. Read some astronomy, cosmology etc. and maybe you one day will grasp our insignificance in this universe too. And I don't think it's a bad thing, rather fascinating and comforting.

Practise with a metronome or smth cause you can't keep in rhythm, the rhythm is all over the place.

It's a mess, makes no sense. I can hear that the guy had tried to do the same to Forever Love that Jerry C did to Canon in D, the riffs were similiar etc. Needless to say, this guy failed.

You're missing that copyright law varies by nation.
I'm pretty sure it's not 10 years since the composing anywhere. It is 70 years since the death of the artist in Finland, but I'm not sure which one applies to that, the Japanese copyright law, or Finnish.

I don't think he is right. To my knowledge you need specific permission or have some kind of royalty arrangement.

Copyright expires on a song 100 years after the artist has died, unless the rights are owned by a private estate as intellectual copyright, in which case they can be held for longer. That's my understanding of it, at least.
70 years over here at least. Dunno how it applies to international artists though.

Aww, thanX for the sweet comments :D
I was feeling guilty after I posted it, because I didn't think it was right to rant about how miserable my life is on a forum like XFF >__> I hope I didn't annoy you guys too much :p
No one should get annoyed, it's the meaning of this topic after all, to get some steam out you know ;P
