oh, thanks for sharing, I'm going to re-watch it.

the more I see him on screen, the more I'm convinced that there's no way that X would still be on hiatus these days if he was with us...

Has anyone found a version with English subtitles?

I remember seeing swiftly the name of the documentary on Netflix (haven't actually watched it there). Eng subtitles were included at the time

Why Sugizo? Does he also say he want to release something pushes the ETA forward?

every now and then he also wears fashion apparel, just like in this picture https://www.instagram.com/p/CDrCHpEBB0P/  :D

however, I just found out that Yoshiki wants to hear about us for an upcoming movie:

just imagine if Yoshiki and Sugizo teamed up to launch a new kimono series, only to procrastinate the album even more. I'd be rolling on the floor laughing.  ;D

yup. In the past I already spent endless words about the possible crooked relationships of Yoshiki with the other members, so I thought I'd add new hypothesis to the mix just for the sake of it  8)

I think he also might be scared to come back on stage as a drummer, considering his playing style, his age and the fact that he had multiple surgeries throughout the years. In his Instagram feed I've never seen a recent picture of him playing the drums, they're all throwback images. He's kind of a piano-only musician right now, I think

I was waiting for a short “yOsHiKi mAStEr CaRd” advertisement

hahahahahahah.  ;D oh my. I just hope that there aren't any more sponsored goods by him in the future besides the ones we already know of.

right now all I'm doing is waiting for the 100th version of the demo for Kiss the Sky.

I listened to the latest Yoshiki Mobile message, the closing line didn't get me surprised: "Please vote for Yoshikitty, 'cause I'm all over the place".  8)

It has the Hashtag #XJAPAN in the video. I don't really get why, but anyway.

he just puts that hashtag everywhere, maybe in the hopes of sparking curiosity about the band in new fans of his solo works.

I would really like to listen to another Eternal Melody, however.

Offtopic / Re: Great FEMALE Guitar performance (incl. KURENAI)
« on: April 09, 2021, 11:20:03 AM »
Very very nice. The Kurenai cover was cool. This song kicks ass even without X.  8)

seeing how things are going, it actually has higher chances to be played by anyone but X, in fact.  8)

thanks for the video. My neighbours are blasting some mumble rap and I needed something like this to bring my ears to life again.  8)

When it comes to guitar solos, I equally like virtuosisms and minimalisms if they're on cue. To make an example, in Luna Sea's "True Blue" the guitar break is extremely on point despite not being complex. It completes the song perfectly.

Very cool, thank you!

I've still got no answer, I guess they went on hiatus forever  :(

well, I guess that they gave up on following the lore about X. Not that I can blame them...

I guess that our only hope is asking old time fans on IG who know Japanese, have a copy of the book, and want to collaborate.

Taiji / Re: Taiji's autobiography

I wrote to the people who were fan-traslating the whole book to see if they can catch up again. I'm not expecting an answer since their last blog update is dated 2014, but you might never know...

Taiji / Re: Taiji's autobiography
« on: March 16, 2021, 05:05:49 AM »
Oh no! Those are the chapters that I really wanted to read, because I don't know the background or circumstances that led to his homelessness. :(

I guess the translator stopped because the X fandom, due to "somebody's" delays and empty promises, has been slowly dying through the years.

the only hope to get back to a decent translation is maybe buying the book and getting the job done by asking and paying, if necessary, Japanese native speakers or foreign languages students.

Hi! Whenever someone has time, could we have some more translations, please? :) the book has been very interesting so far!

unfortunately the fan translation missed one of the most important and interesting parts in his autobiography... Chapters 4-5 and 4-10, where Taiji speaks about his homeless days in Ueno Park back in time before turning to music again.

Yoshiki has posted another update in regards to his wine collection and that (along with the kimono series) really made me think how much he's able to accomplish things that are unrelated to music at a godlike speed if he wishes so.

ohh nice mystery.

I tried to input some of the lyrics between " " to search exact matches on Google but nothing showed up. Must have been a very underground release...

but wait, it got a music video so probably it wasn't that underground, considering it was the 1980s.  :o

don't mark my words, now I hate mysteries  8)

Toshi's voice has been constantly improving despite age. He can still sing really high-pitched, which at 56 years old is impressive

to me it happened with Longing, Tears and Jade, still that feeling resonates with me today.

I wonder how many good songs were discarded because they didn't exactly sound like Y intended

I doubt we will see X anything soon. And honestly I doubt if we see them ever again. Sadly

lately I've been thinking that we should write an eulogy for X. We'll anticipate the official one  :(

trying to make it big overseas was the ultimate demise for the band... I have little to no doubt that we would have seen so many records being put out if X stayed in Japan

Yoshiki has just posted on IG that he wishes to be on stage soon with X. Does that mean that he plans to drop the album once the pandemic has been tamed then go on tour?

does that mean that they'll play old songs, and the album will forever stay a metaphysical entity?

I don't even understand anymore  8)

Yoshiki / Re: Disney MY MUSIC STORY: YOSHIKI
« on: February 18, 2021, 04:46:59 PM »
I think you didn't miss much for not understanding the Japanese nor the Chinese substitute.
What Yoshiki talked about was more or less the same - about his childhood, how sick he was, how he got the piano from his parents, how his father's suicide affected him, how the classical music influenced him, how he formed the band, how he got the band members, how he bought the studio in L.A.,  how hide's death affected him.....etc.  Actually more or less the same thing you can watch from that X movie.

the poor guy has always to follow this schedule when he's interviewed...   :-\

come to think about it, there haven't been insightful Q&A with him since the 90s (the interviews that you could have read on the magazine Fool's Mate, for instance).

has anybody noticed Yoshiki's (new?) habit of saying "hmm" between sentences, every now and then?  :D

He postponed again, like usual. I wonder who's this Vkei friends that  he will talk to

people are still relentlessly commenting: "Don't worry, take your time". Good heavens...

I wish I could have that kind of feedback in my life... Where people get angered if I don't do something in a day  :-\

hide / Re: Hide's personality and his mental health
« on: February 07, 2021, 03:32:14 PM »
thanks for the links, it's sad that most resources about X and Hide can't be found outside of the Wayback Machine  :(

I think that all of the lyrics to the whole Hide Your Face album need to be viewed closely from the perspective of somebody who is really suffering. I'm not sure if it's just my feelings, but that surely is a very dark record. Especially the words to Dice are haunting.

hide / Re: Hide's personality and his mental health
« on: February 06, 2021, 05:54:38 PM »
obviously this is always a difficult topic to discuss about, especially because he wasn't diagnosed back in time (not that we know of, at least). But I remember reading on Reddit a thread where some people were entertaining the hypothesis that he was bipolar and his death accidentally occurred during one of the hypomanic episodes (possibly triggered by heavy alcohol drinking, and Hide was adamant and open about this).
it's not uncommon to have severe mood shifts when this condition hits. You can really go from being super energetic to drowning in your own tears in zero time. I assume that music helped Hide to cover some of this as a typical rockstar extravagance but there might have been more to it.

She had talked about it some years ago already (2018 or so), but never named the abuser. Said she didn't wanted to until she feels emotionally ready.

I see... Meanwhile, other victims spoke up for themselves and Manson has been dropped from his record label...

Yoshiki hasn't been posting anything on IG for 3 days...

what a stroke of bad luck for his projects.
