Offtopic / Re: What are your New Years resolutions?
« on: January 10, 2019, 02:41:31 AM »
I didn’t know you played piano! Yes, that is quite a list. I can relate on the dressing part, since a couple of years ago I started to put more variety in my clothes lol Good luck with your goals! I’m curious, is there any reason why you want to learn norwegian?

P.S: nb, I finally have some time tonight which I was going to use to read but I’ll review LingoDeer for you instead.

EDIT: I’m done but I will write about it tomorrow

But I think Lingodeer is really not bad and a good starting point.

Never used it.

I also want to search for a job in Japan but first I want to improve my japanese and finish my masters. I want a job in engineering / data science because I know I'm unable to do anything else, in my sister's words: "You're only smart for engineering. You're stupid for every other areas of life"

Yoshiki / Re: Barks Interview with Yoshiki - Translation
« on: January 06, 2019, 11:59:35 PM »
Thanks for expressing all my anger about this subject.
I wouldn't have explained so well.

tbh until a few months ago I didn't understand why you got so upset but now I do. Before stuff Yoshiki did annoyed me but what angers me more nowadays is not only Yoshiki himself but when people try to portrait him as the misunderstood victim.

Yoshiki / Re: Barks Interview with Yoshiki - Translation

I will not read it, I'm sure I would regret it.

I regret reading it.

What a lying asshole, I’m so done with this shit. A couple of days ago he answered me he just “can’t” release the album. No explanations.

I’m so fucking tired of people trying to explain his behavior and saying we have to understand him. He is not the only person, celebrity or not, with issues but it’s always poor yoshiki blabla guess what? Mental issues is not an excuse to be an asshole.

Once again, the other members have also put 10 years of his life into this, it’s their work too. It’s unfair to them, I’m surprised they have last this long. They also have their own personal issues but they release music and don’t bullshit. Look at Toshi, he went through hell but you know what? He got his shit together and he doesn’t try to make people feel bad for him, unlike Yoshiki.

The other members also felt the loss of hide and Taiji. Again, they don’t use self pity to manipulate fans, because that’s what he does. No matter what you think of Red Swan, many people were upset about it and he obviously reads the comments so he knew it. He fucked up, instead of coming out and say something about it, he just posted a video of hide saying how much he missed him, obvious tactic to make people feel bad for him.

The worst part is that people still buy into his bullshit.

I had a cactus named cactus but he died, then I got another cactus named cactus, another one called Sue Jr and I forgot the name of the 3rd one. They actually survived for a couple of years but last year I forgot I even had cactus and somehow killed Cactus and Sue Jr. Unknown cactus still alive.

Oh noooooo, we're plant killers, this can't be good for our karma.  :-[
I almost cried when Bob the Bonsai died. He was getting drier and drier but I kept feeding it water and that special green bonsai fluid thingie but he wasn't getting any better so I took him to the bonsai shop. The guy looked at it and declared it dead on the spot. I felt like a disaster human being.

- Improve my japanese and take the N3 test (last month I took N5), since they only do it in December I might just skip to N3.

Kanpaaaaai! Aiming for N3 too by the end of the year. It seemed doable at first but now I'm really struggling to memorise the 50+ new words/week our teacher hands out. She's super fast-paced. How long have you been learning Japanese?

RIP Bob The Bonsai, Cactus The Cactus, Cactus The 2nd, Sue Jr. and X Japan fans' hopes and dreams.

Do you use flashcards? I use the Anki app, it helps me A LOT with memorization. I've taken classes for about 10 months.

Covers / Re: Without You - Piano Cover Classical Version - short!
« on: January 05, 2019, 03:21:41 AM »
Wow I missed this! Very nice, it was beautiful   ;D Answring about the repetition, it does but the full version have some parts that sound very tricky because he goes into these classical passages.

Wow matsumoto is very ambitious this year! I hope you can fulfill most of that, especiallt staying alive haha

ANYWAY, my resolutions:

- Be consistent at the gym and lose weight. I always workout because I love lifting weight and I'm into powerlifting but now I want to get more fit.

- Go to Japan.

- See a Toshi or X Japan (probably Toshi) concert.

- Improve my japanese and take the N3 test (last month I took N5), since they only do it in December I might just skip to N3.

- Ride my bike to work at least 2 times a week. I do it now sometimes but I'm not consistent.

- Get accepted into the masters program I want. I'm also going to take some courses to prepare and make sure I know all the pre-requisites, it's a tough program.

A Will sucks imo  :-X

I would say Shine or Mother is a better introduction. Although I started with the first  :)

General chat / Re: Do you think the new album will come out in 2019?
« on: January 02, 2019, 11:52:07 PM »
Toshi has released TWO albums, made a collab song, a theme song for a TV show and released 6 DVDs in 2018. He also had his own radio show on primetime in the biggest radio station in Japan, was on countless TV shows in which we got some nice performances, played a fair share of concerts and dinner shows, including a few with a jazz band.

Rest my case.

I voted No. i wish I’m wrong too but it doesn’t seem very likely at this point.

I think the least we deserve is to know the reason for this. Seriously, so many things have been said, I just don’t think he’ll ever release it.

73
The other members always make time whenever Yoshiki decides he actually wants to do something with X Japan. Yoshiki himself is the only one always claiming he is too busy to do anything (busy doing what? Nobosy knows).

Toshi / Re: Toshl's first cover album 'IM A SINGER' (2018.11.28)
« on: December 01, 2018, 04:37:34 PM »
Toshi’s 2 minute preview of 365Nichi Kimi Hikouki already has 1.000.000 views in like 2 weeks. Interesting that La Venus and Without You has 700.000 and 800.000 since March 2017 and the official Jade video has 1.5 Millions since 2011... I think it says a lot about the current state of X Japan

I love it! His voice sounds beautiful. Some of my favorites are Everything and Shiawaseno Chikara

I don't even care if it sucks at this point. I just want a damn album.

I have to agree.

While I agree there aren’t any excuses any more, I thought the last performance was good and sadly Pata is the one that can’t really play well anymore. Yoshiki and Toshi seemed fine to me, nothing happened in that concert or the other 2 that said they weren’t on good terms. People that went to the other 2 concerts actually said they were worried about their relationship but after the concert  they were relieved because they seemed very friendly.

Also, during Yoshiki’s last concert, after Hyde sang and left the stage he praised Toshi saying how he met him when he was 4 so he was lucky to always have an amazing vocalist with him.

But anyway, I’m done with the excuses. It’s always poor Yoshiki, he must be depressed blabla. No. That doesn’t excuse anything, there is a limit. Why on earth did he have to say what he just said on that interview? He could’ve kept quiet instead but he consciously chooses to say all this shit. Everyone talks about Yoshiki but what about Toshi? He also grieved for hide and Taiji, he went through hell and back for 12 years, he has his own physical problems and this year he released 2 albums, 2 DVDs, a couple of other songs, music videos, etc.

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki & Sarah Brightman

He said himself that he gives maximum 5 years to X Japan, due to his own health conditions.

But he’s said 5 years every year since 2011, so there’s that lol

Sugizo wasn’t buried because of fans backslash lol the OP is just a demo, that’s why. Now the fans are at fault of Yoshiki’s fucks up :D

Again, I saw the interview when it was happening and he said he was recording, he didn’t say he was recording the album... which wouldn’t make sense because he said recording were done. He said he finally finished recording Red Swan, so it’s probably that.

And I’m sure he did say in those Yoshiki Channels he’s had in the last month that everything was done.

General chat / Re: X Japan - Major announcement tomorrow

He has said that for a couple of months now. On his Yoshiki Channels, so, not exactly “new” info.

Yoshiki’s press conference:

- In 5 seconds he said he’ll play 2 Yoshiki Classical shows in Tokyo and that he is playing 1 song he wrote for a singer in Germany next week.

- THE ALBUM IS DONE BUT THERE IS NO RELEASE DATE. 0% new info here.

- The other 45 minutes are him saying his oneliners he has used to talk about We Are X the past 2 years. Word by word.

Other Bands / Re: Where's my Classic Rock-heads, out there?! XDDDD
« on: September 08, 2018, 09:13:45 AM »
well, from that list my favorite is Metallica (they’re in my top 3 tbh) but I don’t know if I’d group them as classic rock. I’ve seen The Rolling Stones live and I wasn’t such a huge fan but the concert was fucking awesome, soooo good; also Black Sabbath, ahh I gained a whole new level of respect for Tony Iommi that night. I also saw Paul McCarney and Accept (if you are going to put Metallica, then they are too).

Some of the ones I like are Styx, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Queen, Yes, Judas Priest, Bon Jovi (?), Genesis, Rory Gallagher, the Eagles, to name a few.

So, now comes my fanboy moment to say Aerosmith is my favorite band of all time (sorry, Toshi) haha I’ve seen them live 3 times and I’m seeing them a 4th time next year. I have an LP signed by the 5 of them (and other shit signed in the process), they were all very kind and approachable. I met my best friend (girlfriend for almost 5 years now) because of them! Ok, I’m done lol but yeah, I love classic rock.

I don’t think they are adding anything. They re-released the Visual Shock boxset last year in Bluray and it was the same cuts as in the VHS snd DVD versions, these blurays are probably just the individual discs from the box.

89
I support that! It’s actually a good idea lol
