DAHLIA devoured me.

I was so into the song for about a year, along with the name. The song makes me happy in a way.

General chat / Why is Alive inside the Ballad Collection album
« on: February 13, 2008, 06:31:41 PM »
Yea it's actually the loudest song in the Ballad cd lol

I think during the the ear when Alive was being played, it was their softest?

Maybe thats why they included it. It took me a while to get used to the song too.

Guess what guys

They are still Visual Kei

lmao

seriously though, if they werent a visual kei band why did people had the idea of them being one? I say Bands after X Japan were inspired by their visuals and some how people started to think those bands are the first visual kei..

It's almost like people are ashamed for X Japan being a Visual Kei band? If thats the case what are they doing wrong?

Anyway I really dont care .... You guys can keep going lol

« on: October 25, 2007, 05:48:39 AM »
I saw the movie from First to Third.

And yes you gotta watch it from the first to make more sense. If you ask me the first is still the best by far out of the three.

Anyway I just saw the live recording clip from YouTube.

I wasnt expecting anything at all

And it blew me away, I can still feel Yoshiki's melody, he still got it. I want this song

NOWWW

Yoshiki / How does Yoshiki write love songs..
« on: July 17, 2007, 05:49:08 PM »
A person can express their true feelings in a poet or in a lyrics if he/she experienced that feeling before.

You all know most of the X Japan songs are about "love" and most of them are written by Yoshiki...

Did Yoshiki had anyone that made him fell in love before? I mean the lyrics is just pretty serious about "love" and I've never seen or heard Yoshiki mentioning about the "special someone" in his life.

Or is it that he is just friggin talented.

Great example is the song Say Anything.

Say Anything; its a meaning that one person wants to hear their special someone or whoever he/she is in love with to say anything because the person is thirsty for "love". It makes the person happy to hear their love ones talk again.

"Time may change my life but my heart remains the same to you
Time may change your heart, my love for you never changes"

I dont think I need to explain that either and thats gotta be one of the best lyric out there.

Thoughts? How does he do it?

Quote from: "Azak"

Whether he wrote it all or not, a fair amount of the solo is just him hitting the piano. There is no melody to it and it sounds crap (IMO obviously). But he gets away with it because its "art".

Anyway, this is about the drumming, not piano. I'll shut up now.

lol

i get you still BizKiTRoAcH, i really do. But you see if you're gonna view Yoshiki's drum as an ordinary drummer. You wont be able to feel his music.

Becuz Yoshiki isnt ordinary ;)

I view Joey's drumming skills as a professional drummer who is good at making catchy rhythm. Because thats what it is and it is very obvious. And he does add a little art by what he wears, including the mask and playing it upside down which is pretty cool  8)

But yea. There is no limit in art and there are no rules in art. And like I said in the topic I made. You cant view Yoshiki's drumming just like you view any other professinal drummers out there. Becuz on Yoshiki's perspective it is just totally different.

Its like every hit he makes on the toms and snare or crash, there are visuals coming out of it.

Its hard to explain lol

S.K.I.N. / Is it just me?
« on: July 05, 2007, 07:14:30 AM »
And yea I usually dislike bands or groups like those.

Lets say "DBSK" or the boy bands they have today. I am capable of listening to them but its by far the least of something that I dislike. Not hate.

But hey Yoshiki is in the band, which means music should be interesting. Lets hope it will be lol

As much as I like all of the above artists, I watched the clips on youtube and downloaded a few.. and I just thought they were average. I liked them but some people are acting like they are the most amazing band on the planet.

LMAO

i gotta agree with you on that one.

Yea im still on the fence. And yes the fans are just way excited and likes anything just because its Yoshiki or Gackt. And they just completely forgot about the music lol

Im gonna have to download the album first and see if I like it. If I do i will buy the CD. So far they do sound average.

So far Im just seeing this band as a "great sets of musicians to scream for or to look at" for now that is.

Other Bands / Singapore X Japan Tribute Band

Quote from: "Hurley"
but this was definitely far at the better side of tributes I've seen on youtube, despite the small mistakes.

agreed

drumming is pretty good too..

now heres the thing that all cover band of X are missing...

playing like yoshiki!~~~

I noticed a lot of drummers in cover bands of X uses light sticks, putting the toms very low so its easier to reach.

It would be great to see a drummer playing like yoshiki.

Marilyn is very intelligent when it comes to getting interviewed by people who wants to put him down.

This guy's visual was striking the first time i saw him. I gotta be honest he scared me. But other wise, a very smart man and a great artist.

General chat / The "I dont like ..." Thread

BizKiTRoAcH

Its clear that you dont understand the piano solo.

Its clear that you dont know that Art Of Life was never meant to be beautiful as in how good or how fast the musician is playing. It was supposed to be beautiful in melodic terms.

Art Of Life is not your everyday music where you can just listen to it once and then judge the music.

While it may not be for everyone, anyone who says that this song lacks talent or appeal is either lying to themselves or completely ignorant of music and the structure of classical composition.

I guess the only difference is that massive prettyful step notes that Yoshiki added. He uses those step notes a lot on his other songs xD

Like on Without You (piano version) and on some of his Violet UK songs.
