...or maybe 5 minutes of silence... maybe with some heavy breathing of an exhausted Yoshiki... :P

I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. XD

I wonder what the '3rd movement' of Art of Life is, as the 2nd one is the one after the piano break and after that ... well ... the song's over lol

I reckon the third movement is after the piano section, so the last few minutes of the song?

That section was called the 2nd movement (at least since they started playing it during concerts), but yeah, maybe they just changed the title and it refers to that part.

Orgasm with Ode to Joy would be great. I'd also love to hear Phantom of Guilt, but that's not gonna happen. XD

I'd assume it means acoustic, can't think of something else. But You are right, it's weird as the use the word 'acoustic' in the track list as well.

I think it said that the etickets will be sent out only two weeks before the event takes place!

I wonder why they are doing it that way? So if I won't have an email from them in mid-february I guess I should contact them.

If they concert takes place I'm curious what the setlist will be like. I expect it to be more of the same, but I'm really, really hoping for some variety and more songs (at least more as back in 2011 in europe).

I'm not even sure if it's only the concert or if there's a showing of the movie, too. lol

By the way, has anyone of you received their e-tickets? I'm still waiting for an email from AXS.

Anyone got an idea what the betting odds for a cancelation are? ;) Last year the official cancelation arrived at february 3rd, so I have to wait at least untill that day has passed, before I'm gonna book my hotel and flight.

"Later this year"

http://www.forbes.com/sites/danafeldman/2017/01/10/rockers-x-japan-crossover-stateside-with-help-from-famous-fans-and-new-album/#6fe8bc3e1b6f

X Japan was founded by childhood friends Yoshiki, a composer, songwriter, classically-trained pianist and drummer and Toshi, the band’s lead singer, in 1982 when the two were in high school.

What a humble description lol

Talking about the release of the album, I don't see that happening before the concert in Wembley (and I wouldn't be surprised if even that is not happening).

I still have my ticket, but I'm not booking anything in advance.
If all seems ok, I might consider making some last minute plans.

Same here.

Although I really like the X Japan Version of Beneath the Skin, I still prefer the S.K.I.N. one.

I also have my issues with the intro of Desperate Angel, otherwise it's an okay song, but the intro makes me often skip it.

This is a great concert, but it also shows very good how Ryuichis voice and/or style of singing changed over his career.

Here the same song in and at the gig posted .

I'm curious how they decide the places the movie is shown. No offense to Hof, but come on. It's neither a big city nor is it easy to reach for most people. Almost as weird as when Luna Sea chose Bochum as the place to hold their only european concert. XD

76
For me it doesn't really matter if the album is sung in english, japanese or a mix of both.
It's important that the songs have the right feel to it, so I can't say yet "I'll love the album no matter what", as I haven't listened to it yet. ;)

I also appreciate the intention of them trying to pave the way for other asian artists, but I don't think that's neccesary, as there are already artists/bands from asia that are doing well in other parts of the world.

But long story short, I don't care if it's in english or japanese. XD

Of course there could always be a digital release, but yeah, I doubt it very much that we'll get the album anytime soon.

Yeah, he will hold two concerts with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall on Jan. 12 and 13.

'Exciting announcement', my ass.

Not gonna beat a dead horse, but maybe Toshi should prepare a solo concert like this for next year, just in case something happens and the X Japan concert will be cancelled again:

Bought my ticket at AXS and yesterday I got the mail informing me of the cancellation. Maybe the ticketmaster will be sent out any minute.

Talking about the "World Tour 2016-2017"thing ... hopefully they'll be still touring this year (and by that I don't mean one performance in december in japan), so uploading such a picture is justified and is not creating false hope with the fanbase.

I'm willing to put money down that this album will not come out on March 11th, 2016, if at all.

You should have done that. ;)

I tend more to believe that it got postponed because right now they are not able to tour and promote the record the way they want it to be promoted ... (if it ain't finished yet, I'm not blaming Pata for it).

I don't understand. We Are X got great attention at Sundance, this is the first major press they've had as a band internationally in a while. This would be a golden time to promote.

Hard for me to tell, how much the casual music fan cares for the movie at the Sundance film festival. Maybe Yoshiki was thinking the album release also 'deserves' a big live event, no idea. And of course, maybe you are right and the album is still missing Pata's guitar parts, that's also possible.
Bottom line is, the album won't be released any time soon and that is a shame.

He's doing solo concerts with months-worth of planning and rehearsal. Toshi alone cannot hold up what would have been X day and the more ppl you get doing something unexpected the more complicated the situation becomes. But hey, anything's possible. I just wouldn't count on it.

He shouldn't hold up what X day would have been, they should just give the fans at least something. Something's better than nothing in that case and in my opinion. Of course I can only speak for myself and what I want. ;) But I'd prefer some small club gig (maybe even acoustic) over getting nothing any day. :)

You know.... Booking a venue, planning a concert, arranging the production of the show, AND rehearsing the new set all in appr. 30 days? Who can do that? Yeah it would be nice for fans... If it could be done in a way that actually reflected the quality of the band. But a quickly patched up, last minute concert? That's asking for a lot of disappointment for both the fans and the band. You have to be realistic about your expectations, what you're really asking.

Sure, it's not something easy to do. But I don't see why it should be impossible to pull that of. Toshi is doing solo concerts all the time (at least it feels that way lol), so get his ass over to London and let him perform in a small club/bar/venue, whatever. \m/

I'm not buying it. I can't believe they would have still been working on the record in mid january (except Yoshiki). There were years and years of time to record the remaining music. So if the release is now really delayed because of them not being finished by now ...

The album not being finished by now is a whole different story, which is even more ridiculous. I'm not gonna make anymore jokes about the time it took to get Chinese Democracy released.

How many times have we made that parallel now? It really feels like a sister album to that now.

More like the evil step-sibling. ;)
