Although I also looked at the setlist and found that there was only a couple of tracks I didn't have before, I don't believe it is wrong for Yoshiki to be releasing this. All the tracks that featured on EM I and II can't be purchased by fans anymore as the CD's are now out of print. (I'm pretty sure EM II is...)

I also agree with the whole George Martin thing, that was two decades ago! XD

But really, I'm against having this album up for download on the forums at this point in time. Being released on iTunes in the states and soon to be worldwide, there is no excuse not to put the money together and buy the album. Like you said, a lot of the tracks have been featured elsewhere and fans may already have copies, but that doesn't stop you from buying individual tracks (apart from Say Anything). I am quite contradictory in my views on music piracy. I don't feel that there is any harm done with downloading stuff that can no longer be purchased legally in any medium and I also have no hesitations about downloading a album from a Japanese artist to see if I like it enough to buy, (to buy it would be 3 times the amount of buying a CD here for me), but I don't think this falls under those categories yet.

Just my opinion.

I'll delete it so I thought it would be cool

Other Bands / LUNA SEA messages about hide 50th Birth Anniversary
« on: July 31, 2013, 03:33:17 PM »

   Ryuichi:

I still remember when hide casually came to one of LUNA SEA's shows. Still now I can say that it was a really important meeting to LUNA SEA. It's not exaggerated to say that it was thanks to hide's intercession that LUNA SEA became an indie band. I still am very grateful for that.

INORAN:

Really loved music, really believed in music's spirit. Hide, still now I feel a great respect for you!!!

Shinya:

Even now you lead the music world, I will continue the tradition, hide. Hide, you are Luna Sea's big brother. I am really grateful.

 J:

All of those changes in sound, all of the ROCK moments, all the absurd happenings, will change for the best. I will remember as if it was yesterday those stimulating times we always had. Hide-nii, you taught me many things as if you were an older brother, I loved you as if I were a younger brother. Definitely that passion that I always have will not disappear. You will definitely live <forever>

 SUGIZO:

Still now, always, I feel like we are together. I still feel like we are together. Like the old days. 50 years... I believe in it... Even now, Hide, you are inside me as an eternal boy. Your smile is still the same, teasing one. We will stand forever together on stage. Surely, one day, I will be by your side.

thank you so much Lunatic Slaves http://goo.gl/fIKNaZ

Although known as the founder of Japan’s biggest rock band X Japan and credited as the catalyst for the flamboyant visual kei rock sub-genre, Yoshiki is a world-renowned classically trained multi-instrumentalist/composer/musician. As one of Asia's most influential musical artists and biggest rock icons, Yoshiki has made an impressive mark within the classical genre as well. Having recently composed the 2012 Golden Globe Awards theme song, he’s also composed and performed an orchestral piece/piano concerto to commemorate the Japanese Emperor's 10th anniversary of his reign, along with the theme for the World Expo in Japan. Yoshiki’s double album Yoshiki Presents Eternal Melody remains one of Japan's top-selling classical albums. His most recent album, Yoshiki Classical sees collaborations between Yoshiki and legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra and the Quartet San Francisco. Hear Yoshiki in discussion, along with Vice President of The GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares, about his varied career and the new album, which will be released digitally worldwide on August 27.
