For those beingsuper-disappointed: what did you expect?

Stop defending yoshiki, just stop it, there is nothing at all you can defend about this, I already waited patiently while listening to other bands, for four years for half an album, and my patience is now gone, and at this point after all this he deserves some insults, it's just us wanting to express our feelings/frustrations, we have every right to do that so don't say otherwise and stop acting like a typical fanboy.

I don't care about the slightest glimpse of something that is pretty much 100% guaranteed to not happen just like everything else before it. Yeah I think I'm done with yoshiki and the band at this point, I might still come back to this forum every...well I don't know XD because you guys are awesome, but I'm done with the band, yoshiki has screwed everything up and even though the majority of crazy obssessed fans may not see it/know it, he has, and the other members too for not doing anything about it either. There were a few great moments in this reunion, but overall the whole six years, it's just been massively dissapointing in so many ways I don't think it was worth reuniting, and wax models was the final nail, seriously yoshiki fuck you.

Unless in a few years I happen to come across something and go "woah, they're playing sadistic desire, Vanishing Love and Miscast etc. live again, and their new album sounds great, has a good balance of fast heavy songs and ballads on it!" I'm not coming back to this band, it's been a great time talking with you all these years you're a fantastic community, and I may come back every once in a while for general discussion, but as for X, what a sad, sad way to end (for me) what used to be my favourite band after all these years, I'm out.

Yeah at the time, before I realised it was yoshiki not talking to any of the other band members, I thought Sugizo being on tour with Luna Sea was causing the delay, I was simply pointing out that using the word "blame" is a bit strong a word to use because I wasn't pissed off at Sugizo or anything for it in the slightest.

Hopefully that's cleared it all up, and I agree, back to this "album". I've basically lost any excitement/interest in it, we still don't know if there's major production issues going on with the drums, not looking forward to Toshi's rerecorded vocals on songs that require a raspy metal voice like X and Kurenai, (because of his recent stupid comments about his voice, and what he intends to do singing from now on) and the new songs just sound like yoshiki's reusing the music style from Violet UK when you listen to the vocal lines and the background symphonic music together, instead of realising and treating X Japan as (DUH!) THE BAND, and an entirely separate genre of music, and keeping alive X-Japan's unique sound it always used to have. Without You as an X-Japan ballad is the only song that keeps part of the band's uniqueness and what we remember of them alive in their new stuff.

No, yoshiki was causing the delays, you misunderstood my post. XD

I think "blaming" is completely the wrong word here as I had no problem with Sugizo wanting to tour with Luna Sea last year whether it delayed the band or not (and it turned out to be yoshiki's fault for not discussing anything with the band anyway) because it's his main band, but even then I thought the album should've been out be the end of 2011 so I still felt yoshiki was to blame.

"-If I release the songs today, does the Album style fit in this era?"

Can't say, but I can tell you Jade and Born to be free don't fit in the heavy metal genre.

Glad he's at least doing something. It's a shame though that Toshi's convinced himself into this whole "my vocals are going so with "the time I have left" I'm going to sing nothing but healing 'beautiful' songs now (he's assuming there's only one interpretation of what something 'beautiful' is). It's really paranoid and silly and a waste of what I think is the best rock voice of all time, I'm just hoping this way of thinking doesn't extend to X-Japan as well, though at this point there's almost no reason to give a shit about that.

But yeah great to see he's staying active in someway.

Hey embryo6 from Xradicaldreamers boards, I saw your response to this thread, and guess what, you're a typical yoshiki fangirl, do you think you're presenting anything new to the table? Do you honestly think your any different from previous  "no no don't insult my perfect yoshiki wah" fangirls of the past? I've read your posts and I've seen every single one of those excuses before, many, many times, and they have no merit, just more trying to defend yoshiki from that idea that he isn't perfect.

Fact is, you're part of the problem, and yoshiki hasn't done anything to help himself, the band or the fans in anyway whatsoever, he just cares about making drama posts on facebook/twitter and telling everyone how amazing his life is with his irrelevant side projects, and yes embryo they are irrelevant because it's been five years since he promised the album, its been far too long already, the time for side projects is past and now is the time for the album because the wait is getting stupid, and that's largly due to it only being five new songs and some remixes in case you forgot, instead we get a year of fashion parties, Stan lee making him a comic book character, and other pointless crap that doesn't help anybody, he's completely ruined any popularity and word of mouth they got going in the US because that was too long ago, he's wasted time and now no one remembers them anymore.

"I think these new foreign audiences are ruining the band" no, how fucking dare you put the blame on us who are rightfully complaining and frustrated because you want to continue your yoshiki fantasies, we're not ruining the band, he's ruined the band, by acting like a child and a rambling anime fangirl and making drama about hide on twitter when he's a grown man in his mid fourties, instead of supporting his and his band member's careers and showing respect to the fans, and the other band members share part of the blame as well for not standing up to him, "people have all the right to criticize the band, and even joke and make a fool of Yoshiki's attitude... but without becoming offensive and harassing" if you think we're being mean and offensive, you need to grow a thicker skin, you think after years of broken promises in many forms that the only response we're allowed to express is to twiddle our thumbs and go "*sigh*.....I guess we'll just have to wait another year, oh that yoshiki what a loon".

No, stop being weak and acting over offended like a soccer mum, after all this, our language and the way we word our disappointment is justified and perfectly represents how let down we feel and how bad yoshiki's fucked it all up, and yes that comes with being pushy/slight harrasing (harrasment? No.) attitude in how we speak about getting things done too, because he deserves it, we're not breaking into his house are we. you think a grown man's gonna cry from a few expectedly frustrated forum posts after all the delay's for years he's been hammering people with? Get real, and just maybe he should feel really bad for once too. Get off your high horse, go back to XWonderland forums.

The days when the band were the kings and could do no wrong were the early nineties and they're long gone, hope this white knight attitude changes someday.

If you happen to have wrongly taken my post for being offensive, again, then I can tell you, you're the only one doing the offending, you make an entire thread trashing our board essentially saying we're nasty and horrible people, instead of realizing we're perfectly normal but just feel extremely let down and saddened (and yes justifiably angry, take it) by yoshiki and that in a way he's turned his back on us and you don't even have the nerve to post the topic on our forums you'd rather do it all behind our backs, nice. I'm posting here because I don't have an account on the Xdreams boards, I think. Btw I've been a fan of X for six years which is long enough, and even people who were fans before they broke up are annoyed, so its not 'newbies'.

"at least Yoshiki has been talented enough to write great music, and to make a lot of money with it: so who are YOU for judging his current activities?" A fan, loyal fan who's been waiting years and years for a half an album that was 99% complete years ago while yoshiki screws over everyone and cries on twitter for attention and goes partying, basically not doing anything that makes use of the talents that made him famous.

I apologize to people here for my post being a thousand years long, I've added paragraphs since the original post, things just kept coming to my head I had to comment on, I wasn't even gonna post here until I saw that thread on the Xdreams board, he/she clearly doesn't want to have a proper conversation about it here so I'm getting it all out in one post.

Another possible ballad from this "rock band", wonderful. I'll just carry on enjoying the new album 'King Animal' from Soundgarden they've made and released two years after their reunion.

Why are some of the songs like Airport blatantly the studio versions, why is Toshi lip-syncing?

You guys are certainly on the right train of thought. I've felt for a while that the decline in X's activity is entirely because of Yoshiki. It's a damn shame that he is acting the way he is. Sugizo is the best thing to happen to X Japan SINCE the reunion in my opinion, and for Yoshiki to use him like this is wrong. Yoshiki is a disgrace to me right now...he generates so much hype, wins a Golden God award...promises the album SO many times and what are we left with? A freaking Violet UK announcement. I wish I was the rich person who won the dinner with Yoshiki; I'd spend the entire time lecturing him about how to treat his fans and his band mates.

word. you bring it to the point.
this is the best description for X which i've read since a long time.

I also agree completely. As far as I can tell, the only hold up with X is Yoshiki. Hopefully Sugizo can see nothing is going to be happening for the rest of this year and probably early next year at least, and he concentrates on Luna Sea and his own work. At least they have done their reunion right so far...

It will soon be 5 years since the band reunited and look at what they've accomplished :( Pretty shitty if you ask me.

It has been five years, their first show may have been 2008, but they made I.V and the music video in late 2007 remember.

I've been lurking, reading new comments when they come up, almost on the Virge of thinking this band's pretty much dead to me. But after reading Sugizo's latest blog posts I'm taking back what I said about 'if X don't do lives/album during this year I'm not going to listen or follow them anymore, because I've realized its pretty obvious that Sugizo's been busy with Luna Sea, and that's why the band can't do live shows and Yoshiki is probably taking extra time with the album because he'd rather release it when they're able to do live tours to support it.

An album with half its songs already in existence should've already been done long before Sugizo got caught up with something else, but still I'm feeling a little better about things now.

Oh so the next, "soon to be happening" world tour following the "very nearly done and very nearly released new album" is going to happen sometime in 2013 following a release eight months from now at the end of the year. Great job if true.

well, definitely need more new songs, cant keep playing i.v , jade , btbf. throw on without you or scarlet love song or new songs. prefer they play 1st part of aol than 2nd movement (butdont think that it will happen ). hope they will return to tokyo dome again

The fact we got Kurenai and Silent Jealousy was amazing.

No, just Silent Jealousy xd.

Next tour, more metal songs without ballad elements like Blue Blood and Miscast please, even though its pretty much impossible they'd ever do that.

Thanks a lot Rafaelo! We have something new on the forum!

I wish Toshi had sung more than the opening line, but its a supergroup thing, this was obviously one of the extasy summits. Toshi has the best English of all of them as usual XD.

Who's the female singer at 1:19 btw, anyone know?

23
Eh at this point I kind of hope they lose, they (as in yoshiki only) havn't done anything to deserve it, wether they are the best talentwise or not. Infact I wish there was an award for 'laziest band' or 'best band at sitting on there asses doing f all and contributing nothing' and they won that so maybe it could teach yoshiki something.

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki officially on twitter!
« on: March 03, 2012, 02:06:24 AM »
Glad you found it funny, I hope no one's annoyed by it.

I just remembered something, and this is something that I'm not too annoyed with, I'm mostly talking about it because its funny. I mentioned the way Sugizo acts on stage can be a bit embarressing sometimes in terms of showing the band to people, and that brings up a hilarious thought, being part of X changes you. Sugizo used to be, and in a way still is a badass. One of my very first exposures to Luna Sea was the videos of their first reunion live show back in 2007, I don't think I'd seen Luna sea before then apart from the Extasy summit live videos. And Sugizo in that 2007 live looked badass, he looks like a kickass human fighter from a fighting game, he looks like Xion from Bloody Roar on the gamecube (and there's someone else he reminds me of as well but I can't put my finger on it). And he acts awesome on stage like the symbols he makes with his fingers when he finishes a song, again he was badass and in a way still is.

What I mean by that is that pretty much after he started playing with X Japan, specifically when he was made an official member, he suddenly became all flamboyant, he's wearing the  yoshiki princess costumes or the see through naked wire cloth clothes or Toshi's chicken feather suit and he's spinning around in ridiculous ways, its like X Japan is so poppy it literally changes you when you become a member. Then there's that time where we caught him on film checking his face makeup in a handheld mirror during an interview with the band. He carries around a freakin' miniature mirror! To make sure he looks pretty at all times! And he used it on camera! X Japan is a curse, and I thought that was the worst of it, but I was looking at some of the lollapalooza live videos a month or two ago, and I saw him checking his face in the mini mirror there! On stage at lollapalooza! That's just such a monstrously retarded idea!

The biggest thing that proves its a curse of X is that when Sugizo goes back and does Luna Sea shows, he suddenly becomes badass again, I've watched a huge amount of the recent lives Luna Sea have done in 2010-11 and Sugizo is still as awesome as ever in them, what the hell is wrong with X-Japan! Pata has somehow avoided this curse for over twenty years, lets hope it stays that way and we don't have to suffer the site of Pata on stage wearing yoshiki's wedding dress.

And now, to commence shutting the hell up...or at least trying to.

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki officially on twitter!
« on: March 02, 2012, 07:01:43 PM »
Okay I haven't done any big massive rant posts for at least a year because people were getting a little annoyed by it and X weren't really doing anything to annoy me too much, but now I'm just too annoyed, so yeah, rant ahead.

If yoshiki needs a break because of tireing himself out from things that aren't the album, then fuck you!  fuck that, its your own fault, make the damn album! "Oh dear I've been to so many parties and twilight openings recently I can't do it anymore, my body is week!, I'm fading into the distant scarlet void or some shit, so the hopes for an album or tour are over, I'm going to barbados, yes I've fucked up our bands thirtieth anniversary year, but, I am so tired......TWITTER ME!"

Seriously, fuck.That. If he doesn't finish the album this year (and soon) then I might seriously consider stop listening to the band, I don't really like the direction they've gone with the new songs (they're okay in a few areas, but its just the fact that "everything has to be ballads" now), and how they replace the only remaining ones that aren't from the dahlia album except for Kurenai and X (silent jelousy, well done, another half ballad, and art of life is overplayed now), I don't know any band who does this. Unlike every other band in their forties who do twenty songs a night, X do about seven with some solo stuff inbetween because poor (half faking) yoshiki can't handle the pain. You look at Soundgarden who's songs are way harder to play and they're doing 20+ songs every night on their world tours. Ozzy Osbourne peforms more songs per night on a tour than yoshiki does, and he's a 60+ year old man who's done so many drugs he can barely walk half the time he's up there. I thought a year ago "Ozzy is basically the only heavy metal band live that plays less songs than X which in a way is fair because he's an old man messed up physically by drugs, but if X aren't careful they're going to be playing even less songs than him", and oh look now they are!

Except for Kurenai and X they have removed any part of themselves that really felt like heavy metal, every song now is big and emotional in some way and they come out dressed in big white/pink poultry dresses, Toshi doesn't seem to want to sing with his raw aggresive voice anymore everything has to be clean, the whole approach to anything in X now is to not do anything aggressive at all and be clean and emotional, and I bet that attitude is going to destroy the old songs they're gonna rerecord, Kurenai english version a lot of the time sounds crap. Even when they sing the ballads Toshi can't sing them right anymore, Forever Love seems to be a cursed song because its the only song that makes Toshi's vocals go HUUAAGHIGBLAARIUGRAAAJGFG before his vocal part even begins so they have to cut the song into less than half and he still can't sing the choruses near the end.

If Yoshiki releases the album at the very end of the year I don't know if I should care at that point, because that doesn't really show any improvement or effort on yoshiki's part, it wouldn't show any change to his attitude, the setlists certainly aren't gonna improve, and he's just going to fuck us over again with any future world tour dates, new song releases, or statements that "these new songs will be really heavy" and then we'll get another Jade.

Did I enjoy the London show a year ago? Yes, even with the setlist, I loved the show, but I'm still going to look at this from an outside perspective, and compared to other bands X-Japan fucking sucks right now. If they do make it big in America they're only going to get fangirls like every crap modern band today, because right now they're too flamboyant for essentially anyone else to like them. I'm almost ashamed to be a fan of them as they are now, I wouldn't tell anyone I know about them, because outside of a couple of songs they're too embarrassing, including how Yoshiki acts (and sugizo a little bit) and talks on stage.

And the rest of the members piss me off for not getting on his case either, Pata and Heath can't be completely okay with the direction the setlist and the new songs have gone, Heath and Pata's styles are so different, especially Pata's. Taiji was the only one to do the right thing and critisise Yoshiki for something, Pata and Heath just stand there like "well Yoshiki said he'd leave us and do the band on his own (in other words, I am the band, not you lot) if we're afraid of the world tour, so I guess that applies for everything else too, so imma be quiet".

All of them should be at least on his case about the album, its like they don't fucking care. I'd rather stand up to him even if I got fired and it broke the band up again than put up with this shit.

Them keeping "Psychodelic violence and crime of visual shock" and Kurenai and X in the lives is just a massive masquerade to hide the fact that there is nothing aggressive or heavy metal about them anymore.

. . . Bring back his Last Live era hair..hell, even his hair during the reunion in 2008 was better. Looks terrible right now.
I fully agree.
During the reunion, esp in the video for I.V., he looked good and simple. * 'Simple' is the key word. That was nice.*
But then he probably hired a very bad stylist without sense of proportion and harmony -_-

Which pic are we referring to here?

I wish that there were a couple more old songs like 'We Are X' in that setlist and that Toshi actually concentrated on singing better in some parts instead of deliberatly stopping midnote to shout randomly, but there were really good versions of a couple of the old songs and songs they still play today in this live, I love the versions of X and Kurenai in this, and One Way and Feel me Tonight (love that song) were great versions.
