Yoshiki / Re: Why hasn't Yoshiki released a new album?
« on: December 02, 2020, 02:41:57 PM »
I'm an X pessimist but I wouldn't say the reunion was for nothing

Over the past 15 years, they still played dozens of shows including their first ever international tour (even if it's execution left a lot to be desired). Lots of fans got to discover and see them because of that, and their reformation has kept the brand alive in some way. They also released a few official studio songs, which although isn't as good as an album, is better than nothing I guess.

The reunion has been a let down because of what it could be based on Yoshiki's proclaimed vision, but it's still good it happened imo

Kiss The Sky sounds amazing! It is exactly what a reunited X in the modern age should sound like based on those clips!

Toshi's voice sounds killer, the bass line rocks, there is actual heavy guitars, progressive and pop pieces, and the piano and guitar solos sound superb. I almost cannot believe what I heard.

I am eating words from what I said in the past, we NEED this song!

Its pretty clear something bad happened. That explains why Yoshiki said the album was done but couldnt be released.

Whatever it is, it's a very dissapointing ending. Especially after the optimism presented at the end of "We Are X", it's very sad fhe reunion basically limped on crutches for 10 years and then fizzled out with a complete whimper. The Red Swan incident is utterly bizarre, and its possible it was in response to something as opposed to a misguided decision out of nowhere. It seems Yoshiki was testing the waters to see if Hyde could replace Toshi.

I hope they reconcile to salvage their personal relationships, and can do a final tour and release the album. It would let the band end with some dignity. If not, its sadly fitting and symbolic that their last show was played to an empty arena.

Yoshiki doesn't care anymore. I doubt the album will actually materialize. None of the members seem all that interested in X. Wasnt their last show to an empty arena (due to weather)? Kind of fitting lol

The band seems dead, so what is there to be mad about? They had a good run

Albums/Singles / Re: 30th anniversary BLUE BLOOD
« on: April 21, 2019, 04:00:12 PM »
Easily their best album. A shame the band seems all but dead. It could have been really cool if they played it in full. A joint anniversary and new album tour could have been great. Release the album and play the album front to back, play some new songs, and 3 of 4 other X classics on tour. Oh well

Turning into a Yoshiki forum? What the Fuck. April fools, right?

What a joke. What a stupid decision. X Japan was Yoshiki, Toshi, and hide

There is a zero percent chance there will be another X Japan album. We will bw lucky to get this one

It really sucks this band is just limping along now. 2010-2011 had so much potential

Idk for me arguing about the band is better than nothing. I cant come here to talk about their new record or activity, that's for sure

Also, there are WAY worse fan bases. We are like the only 20 regulars on here, anyways (wheres Teemah btw?). Arguing is fun sometimes

The worst part of this fanbase were the people who hurt themselves when hide does. We are tame

Take two seconds of your time to think about what you just said.
You just compared Yoshiki, a hugely talented musician (yeah, he is an amazing musician, he is just a bad manager) to Kim Kardashian.

I can't argue with this.

Oh God, you're one of those  ::)

I'm gonna be honest. I just stopped reading your post halfway thru because I can't take listening to a one-sided, know it all who insists their opinion is the only one because they vocalize those opinions in an echo chamber. You got rude and you got rude on purpose because you can't be fucking normal and just accept some X fans will ALWAYS view things differently than you. We get it, Joker, we all know you're great at being a keyboard bitch with an attitude and you don't need to swing it around like the big dick you wish you had.

You hate Yoshiki apologists. Anyone who has anything different to say to your opinion on him or the dynamics of the band can instantly be written off or talked down to or disproved based on your own opinions and feelings on things and lumped into the same fans who use "nurse" on twitter. Are you EVER going to come out of 2011 and stop grouping the entire X Fandom who has nothing against Yoshiki into that, btw?

You keep saying how the band only works with 100% band effort. (nice job not responding to my points about members willingly selling their shares of the band so they don't have to be as active, or skipping out on interviews IN Japan, or not speaking english on their social media just because they live there when Yoshiki will even speak english during a Japanese interview based out of Japan). I'm not hating on the other band members for that and I already stated that it's their right but that needs to be acknowledged as a negative affect on the band. If you want to use their own inactivity towards the international fanbase and label it as my hate go ahead, it will obviously make your day better because that's just what you do. I however see faults in both sides but fans (or should I just say the X Freaks on this forum?) are just never quite willing to have an actual conversation here regarding what could be improved or fixed with the band unless it has to do with Yoshiki.

Tact? You have none.

Pt_93. Everyone did NOT do their part because only one member is ever promoting or interviewing. I am NOT a blind fangirl and agreed with Joker on several points but, woah, big shock, for the sake of lumping anyone who supports or speaks logically regarding both sides, you as well as many posters here blatantly forget that/overlook it/ignore it/just plain don't even fucking see it because of your hate blinders, for the sake of your own agenda. Anything to disregard and shut down anyone with opposing views. This is not the first time you guys have done this. You do this EVERY time.

axlroseX. Go borrow Sugizo's violin and shrink it down for me to play for you.

I've never been in a fandom as unpleasant as this one and you fuckers are really good at doing that to not only me now but any new fans who come here and anyone who speaks out in a way that doesn't specifically mold into the silent, unwritten, biased climate here.

Great job guys. "Your post sucks" "I can't comprehend what you're trying to say so instead of asking for an explanation I'm just gonna say you make no sense." "Omg you mean metal music isn't the only thing you listen to and you pay attention to pop culture? loserrr" Ugh you guys are fucking LAME.

Ah man, come on. You guys know how I post on here by now. Dont get so mad.

We like Yoshiki, too. We also like complaining about X Japan here because theres no where else to do it. My posts are probably junk, too

Returner your post is kind of junk. Hes a multi millionaire who could put out a record in months if it was a real priority for him.

Who cares if we have the album? We do. We DONT havr the songs. We have a version of La Venus without any of the guitars or bass and a minute of the full version over the movie credits, we have only live recordings of Hero and Beneath the Skin, Angel will probably be different in the studio with guitars, we dont have Kiss the Sky or Rockstar aside from tiny snippets.

IV shouldn't even be on the album, its an ancient song now. Same with BTBF and Jade

Id be happy if they had just 6 months of solid activity. Release the album, do 10-15 shows in the USA, 10-15 shows in Europe, 5-10 shows Mexico and South America, and wrap it up with 5 or so shows in Asia/Japan. Then they can play once a year or so or disband or whatever.

That is still way less than what normal touring bands do. I think that is doable even with Yoshiki.

Wont happen

(taken from discord chat)

There was no "time" to release it during 10 years. But there was "the right time" to release Hello Kitty, Curry Spices, Kimonos and two songs with fucking Hyde.

Sometimes seems like he just don't want to lose the highlight from himself.

But without these things my life would be no fun. Last night I took a bath in Yoshiki wine, then lay on the bed in my Kimono eating curry flavoured crisps then I arranged my selection of Yoshikitties into a band formation and we did our own version of 'Say anything' conducted by an alpaca. Please tell me 'fucking Hyde' is a new action figure? It sounds like something I would be interested in!  ;D ;)

In all seriousness though I doubt any of these things actually require that much input from Yoshiki. I think it just more likely that these companies see a fun way of making money from Yoshiki's name and he is happy to go along with it. I imagine he just turns up at occasional meetings signs off a lot of Yoshkitty designs, tastes a packet of crisps and wine and does occasional promotion here and there. I don't imagine he is sketching Yoshikitties and pressing grapes in a vineyard. Let's be honest though if someone approached me and asked if I could make money by sticking my name on a cute cat or if I would like my own brand of wine then I wouldn't refuse!  ;D

The article did aslo have this question:

I was thinking watching your concert and your film, We Are X,’you have given so much of yourself in creating your music, and I was wondering, do you get that back as well?

Completely. Without music I’m probably not even alive. I was very suicidal. Maybe not past tense, maybe still. But when I do charity work as well as composing music, the music really helps me to be sane. Music is my medicine. It’s like my blood.

The world is becoming chaotic these days. Anything can happen, in a good way or in a bad way. I like to contribute my music to a more positive thing.

I think herein lies the answer. I have always viewed Yoshiki as someone who struggles mentally with depression and depressive thoughts. Depression is such a tricky and awful beast and it manifests in so many different ways. Its really common for depressed people to be very self involved as their minds are so consumed by negative internal voices that their life can become a battle to do things to raise their state or to just keep going. I think when Yoshiki says it's not the right time to release the album I think deep down that may mean that its not the right time for him to release the album, as in some ways I think it has become a crutch that keeps him going. I think he knows that this is going to be the last album and I don't think he is ready to let go of that just yet as I think the 'album' is what keeps him going. Combined with mental and physical difficulities I think there is probably an internal battle in his mind struggling to accept the realities of aging and letting go of certain things. I kinda get the impression that Yoshiki is a little lost in life at the moment and perhaps he is looking for the next thing to do in life before he can let go of the album forever? Maybe this is why he is doing things with Sarah Brightman and Hyde to kind of build another direction for himself after the album is released?

Toshi has his own interests in cooking and doing his own solo work and Sugizo has his other bands and music and his humanitarian work.
I feel like Yoshiki struggles more than the other members with life. I think luckily or unluckily for him he has the 'Yoshiki circus' to follow him around to do things for him which perhaps gives the impression that he is more 'functional' in life than he perhaps is. I think the attention and love from the fans really does keep him going as I think he is still carries this burden of guilt for Hide and Taiji.

I think on the outside for us fans it seems so obvious what needs to be done to promote X, release the album, do a tour etc. I think the reality is perhaps really very different as I think there are probably many people living off of Yoshiki's name and lifestyle along with this celebrity LA pressure to attend events and get your face out there all the time. I feel for Yoshiki in many ways.

There is also the possibility that he has the inside knowledge on the music scene and may know something we don't.

I think someone said that him and Toshi may not be getting on? I can't see that myself to be honest. Toshi's last tweet to Yoshiki was

'Happy birthday yoshiki‼️ I wish for your happiness from the bottom of my heart. Many thanks🤞🏻😎'

That doesn't sound like the words of people who aren't getting on  :D I'm sure Toshi doesn't let things get to him as much these days after the trauma of the cult days.

Anyway, I must love you and leave you all. I have to go and watch a video of Toshi dressing his dog in a Tuxeodo with cat ears!  :D :D

That Toshi quote is more reassuring. I hope they are ok

If he doesn't release it for Christmas, I am gonna tear my hair out!!!!!  :P

It definitely wont be out this year

Idk to me it seems like therr are internal problems in the band again. He wanted to record a big single under the X banner without Toshi and now he is stalling the release of a finished album.

Albums/Singles / Re: X JAPAN New Album(When??)

He said something similar a few months ago. My guesses are,

1. He isnt on good terms with Toshi right now and is being coy about future X activities

2. He is waiting for the band to have more momentum (a USA tour or something)

3. He doesn't care

This is all just speculation on any end
