Great, hopefully the whole band will join the campaign

I believe it is very likely for this to happen, but if this was against Alchool NO WAY the whole band would join. -.-'

Not only that, I think the expression is also applyed to CD's and so on, like Vanishing Vision for example, the guy who sells it for 60€ on eBay is not going to pay royalties to X right?

Offtopic / Out Of Print Material
« on: September 16, 2011, 10:18:30 PM »
Like many of you I got to know X through the Internet and thanks to this wonderful thing called free sharing everybody in the world got to know X and many other awesome bands and whether you admit it or not, it was thanks to the world wide web that X, Miyavi and many others get to tour internationally. There is this common cense thing about downloads where everybody advises to get the original merchandise from a band if the download was enjoyed by the user. While I'm slowly building my collection of Cd's from Japanese 80's bands I started to have this question:

As you know almost every X Japan/Loudness/Anthem etc... "early" material is out of print so people who buy this stuff from Yahoo Auctions for example are buying it from people who had previously bought it originally, this means that while we are buying for our own pleasure there is actually no money going to the artist who released this material a long time ago, which means that the only diferences between downloading out of print material and actually buying it is that you are literally spending money on the physical product right?

General chat / Re: The X Japan "30 million albums" claim
« on: July 24, 2011, 06:56:34 PM »
and if you turn it round and round in your mind, it is magnificent, to be able to create music, find melodies and even lyrics that 20 million people would like to hear...

and btw. today I think it´s more diffent with such numbers, because you don´t have to buy a CD anymore, I got into Diru, X-Japan and many other long before I´ve had a CD of them in my hand

Every Japanese act that gets to tour outside Asia has a LOT to thank to the internet, including X Japan.

Strange, Yoshiki hasn't said anything about Taiji, even Akira Takasaki has already left his prayers.

I think we should stay away form it until the situation is solved, we never know what kind of virus they might have putten there.

Wierd seems to be the word to describe X in the last couple of days.

Taiji / Re: taiji is arrested in the U.S.?
« on: July 16, 2011, 01:53:46 AM »
Taiji has had a lot of problems, some of which he was purely unlucky with such as having a stroke and various other health complaints - but others have been entirely of his own making.

He became homeless after leaving Loudness because he pissed his fortune up the wall and snorted it up his nose - laying to waste his unquestionable talents. He's been given chance after chance to turn his life around. People have taken him under their wing, given him projects to work on, given him jobs, and in some cases just given him hard-cash - but he has continued to throw away his talents and lead himself into bad situations.

Why did he go crazy on an airflight? I have no idea - but he's clearly a man with a lot of issues. Do I feel sorry for him being detained and put before a trial? No - he deserves it for such terrible and reckless behaviour.

But for Gods-sake - let's please not lose another X musician from this world due, especially not by hanging.

Damn you Taiji, wtf were you thinking?

I don't want to start speculating but those were probably the reasons that led him to do what he did, sometimes reasoning doesn't work well specially when you're drunk (if he was that is...), realising that you are the reason for your demise is very painful even more for someone like him, with a great future right in front of him and wasting it in such a manner.

God, I just don't want to wake up tomorrow and find out the worse happened.

Btw. vocalist- that a hair :o

That's Hisayoshi Hiraga, he was the vocalist of Aion in DeathTrash Bound he sounds better on Rosenfeld tough.

Albums/Singles / Rosenfeld - Crows in Black/ X Japan - Blue Blood
« on: July 14, 2011, 09:26:03 PM »
I found out about Rosenfeld a couple of days ago, a Thrash band that was active in the same time as X Japan. There was this statement in Metal Archives on the page of a Rosenfeld demo about X Japan stealing the riff of "B (Crows in Black)" for their song Blue Blood, well in my oppinion everybody with small musical experience knows that it is almost impossible to write something that was not already done in the same pattern / note sequence.

In fact you can hear the resemblence between the two riffs but accusing a band of plagiarism is a bit to much don't you think?

News / Re: X Japan to release first U.S. single titled “JADE”

Are you guys expecting a diferent version of the one that we've heard a hundred times?

17
And he plays circles around everyone mentioned. :D

If there is something that I learned from my short experience as a guitarist is that most of the time everybody has the right to judge technique, but no one has the right to judge musicality.

I personally am no fan of Vai's playing and I find much more pleasuring some simpler songs but there is no doubt that he is very innovative and a very experienced guitarist.

I loved Kamijo's "Engrish" in Love Will Be Born Again.

@wick i found this rose guitar at his esp signature series, you can check it here: http://www.espguitars.co.jp/gallery/ right down there is a "panther" gallery, there she (guitar=she? :D) is :) really nice, i like panther very much!

Actually, in Latin languages (such as mine) you need to address objects and persons according to their genre, and a guitar is actually a female.

and songs are very beautiful, his voice is getting better and better, meanwhile I get a bit exited for the concerts

I don't know how ToshI not only fully recovered his voice since 2008 but he keeps improving, this is very hard, specially when you're reaching the 50's.

Yoshiki / Re: 06.23.2011 Jame Interview with YOSHIKI
« on: June 24, 2011, 08:53:35 PM »

YOSHIKI: Oh, there are tons of songs. When I compose a song I write the music score, and I write a lot. If I'm in a creative mode I might write five or six of those in one night. But that's just the music scores, then when I have 10-20 of those I go to the studio and start programming and start recording by playing the piano or guitar. So I create 10 or even 20 demos.

That's  our genius.

Quote
YOSHIKI: Could be. I mean, I have tons of music scores I have written already. I don't know how many pages, something like 20 000 pages or even more. Maybe when I die people will go through all those scores and find a good song somewhere.

Just like Prince, Yoshiki has a safe full of unreleased songs.

Very nice interview JAME.

Or Eric Kripke is an X fan or this wasn't cheap advertising.

27
Not even if Yoshiki called Jun back to the band no one could be called a real X member anymore (though this would be the most awesome move ever and very interesting to see), and if other options were explored they would still be "the member from that band that is now on X" the result would most likely be the same, in the end, yoshiki is still the boss.

Come on people! do you eer read the descriptions or titles? or open your ears? That's obviously NOT the real song, it's not even toshi's voice -____-;;;

Besides, the drums seemed really off tempo.

Hmn, interesting topic, nice to see you again Wick.

I never really heard anything of Sex Machineguns, tough I've read some stuff about them, but on the topic, there are in fact many guitarists technically better than sugizo, some of them are "unemployed", I don't know whats the relation between Yoshiki and Panther but when working with him, you need to be PATIENT (IMO), and if he hired someone that is not close to him, he would probably jump off the boat pretty quick, so just like you said, he made the right choice on picking Sugizo, not only he is an old friend of Yoshiki but he is also very well known among X fans.

Mainstream is not about solos (for non metal-heads) and if he wanted nice solo sections he could have hired Hideaki Nakama or any of the guitarists mentioned, but looks like the highlight of new X songs is ToshI's voice.

Pata / About Black Rose
« on: May 28, 2011, 06:15:25 PM »
According to what I know, Pata was a member of a band called Black Rose, which was later known as Judy, however, Masayoshi Yamashita (Bassist of Loudness) had a band by the same name, so was Pata's band renamed because of Masayoshi's band? And is there any information about Pata's band?
