Yoshiki / How does Yoshiki write love songs..
« on: July 17, 2007, 05:49:08 PM »
A person can express their true feelings in a poet or in a lyrics if he/she experienced that feeling before.

You all know most of the X Japan songs are about "love" and most of them are written by Yoshiki...

Did Yoshiki had anyone that made him fell in love before? I mean the lyrics is just pretty serious about "love" and I've never seen or heard Yoshiki mentioning about the "special someone" in his life.

Or is it that he is just friggin talented.

Great example is the song Say Anything.

Say Anything; its a meaning that one person wants to hear their special someone or whoever he/she is in love with to say anything because the person is thirsty for "love". It makes the person happy to hear their love ones talk again.

"Time may change my life but my heart remains the same to you
Time may change your heart, my love for you never changes"

I dont think I need to explain that either and thats gotta be one of the best lyric out there.

Thoughts? How does he do it?

Toshi / Toshi's Voice
« on: March 04, 2007, 07:35:47 AM »
Lets talk about Toshi's angelic voice!!

Did anyone find Toshi's voice a bit weird for the first time? Especially when you listen to him singing during the Vanishing Love & Blue Blood Era xD.

But as time goes by, Toshi's voice grew better and better. I think the moment his true voice truely shined was in the Art Of Life. Its so beautiful. Especially during the part where he sang "I Believe in the madness called "Now" " In that section there were parts that are really hard to pull off. But he got the dynamics really good.

Also, in Tears... God. Its beautiful T_T Not to mention its one of the hardest song to sing EVER.  I dont care if Toshi never pulled off this song during live. I blame their tight schedule. Toshi had no break. So its understandable.

Endless Rain... geez I did not really like this song mainly because of his voice lmao But hey, once I got used to the style and understand that he wasnt a real singer, I thought I would just keep on listening to it. Once I got it, the melody struck me.

Cruicify My Love, one of his best in terms of singing in English accent. It was more clear and smooth. This ballad is also beautiful. I love how Yoshiki added a little Jazzy feel to his piano solo.

Over all Toshi is one of my favourite singers. Infact, ( I know this maybe off topic >_> ) Ayumi Hamasaki and Toshi are my favourite "High Note Singers" of all time xD

I believe Toshi is a male version of Ayumi

plz dont kill me. I think Ayumi has a beautiful voice too T_T

Anyway. Share away people.

Other Bands / David Bowie
« on: February 14, 2007, 06:32:39 PM »
Anyone listen to his tunes a lil??

What got me was his Life On Mars? music video. The simplicity in the video was just beautiful. It also reminded me of Endless Rain a little. And I cant stop looking at his pretty eyes.

Heres the music video if you are interested

So David Bowie anyone??

Covers / DAHLIA Classical Project
« on: January 15, 2007, 07:03:35 AM »
Ok guys im pretty excited, I recently downloaded an Orchestra set for my music program. Though there is a 10 gig version >_> which I didnt get, this one is only 100 MB plus... BUT to my surprise it has all of the requirement instruments. The quality is good enough they all sound pretty realistic.

So basically Im planning to remake DAHLIA into a classical piece. I will do my very best and hope I wont disappoint you people.

Because of work, time is short, so expect the song to be uploaded within a couple of months at least.. cuz I make other songs for myself at the same time lol But DAHLIA Classical just popped into my head as I tested out this Orchestra instrument. I played and imagined it in my head.

Strings, triangle, timpani, harp, flute etc will be used.  Lots will be used.

I love the song DAHLIA. I did not understand the melody at first cuz it was messy but when I heard it, the song is f**kn BEAUTIFUL.  Now I hear the song as if its playing in a slow tempo because Im used to the song. Man Yoshiki is a genius ....

k nuff talkin I better start workin.

I hope i dont get in trouble for this at the same time T_T

I also had John Lennon - Imagine classical version playing in my mind long long time ago. So expect that song after DAHLIA Classical ....

Art of Life Live aka X Japan Returns / Art Of Life DVD fake sounds
« on: October 02, 2006, 03:34:29 AM »
This is my latest project.

Ever since the Art Of Life dvd was released, there has
been some rumors about if the sound on the dvd was
from 1993-12-30.
It was, but still, all the video footage wasn't, so I started
to synch the sound from 1993-12-31 into the video.

This is the result.
The Art Of Life dvd with the sound from 1993-12-31,
except the piano solo in the middle, which has the sound
from 1993-12-30.

Hope you'll enjoy it!
/You_Too AKA XXX

What is GOING ON?!?!?! So theres 2 different types of music?? What 1993-12-30 and what 1993-12-31 ??

Im so confused and curious... help me.

General chat / Yoshiki copied Bob Segar???
« on: September 11, 2006, 12:58:22 AM »
This is astonishing!!!

Can anyone tell me when was this song made?? If it was made in 70's or 80's theres a chance that Yoshiki got the melody from Bob Segar. I mean I heard this song came out in 1979.

Heres a music vid of the song "We've Got Tonight" by Bob Segar.

The intro is like 90% exactly like Endless Rain. ITs also in the same tone or w/e you call it. Play Endless Rain and this Music vid at the same time.

Yoshiki / Yoshiki's Art Of Drum
« on: July 23, 2006, 06:13:52 PM »

Check the link up there. Look at some of the comments. A lot of misunderstanding going on.

"That was the crappiest drum solo ever"
"that was shit"
"what is this?"
etc etc etc.

People are missing the point of Yoshiki's drum solo. There are reasons why he plays the way he does. There are reasons why theres classic music in the background. Theres a reason why he is playing fast and random beats sometimes.

The answer all of this is ART. People dont know that X Japan is all about Visual Kei. Which means visuals/art. People are so blind that all people look at music today is for skills in music. I like other drummers  Buddy Rich, Chad, Neil Peart etc etc. I love them all, I love all drummers because every drummer out there in the world has their own way of playing with their own unique style. They want to show what they are capable of. But.... when people see Yoshiki,

Why is it diefferent?

Because people dont see ART in music at all. X Japan have created something that no other bands were able to do for the first time in rock history. Inspired by the famous american band KISS, X Japan is just more than make ups, they are more deeper in relation with the music and the visuals.

Yoshiki's movement on the drums is one of the most brilliant thing I've ever seen. His hair and his posture while playing drums is absolutely beautiful to watch. So much passion and power.

So bascailly people dont know what X Japan is, if they dont know what the drum solo is all about, they dont know X Japan. Its funny how people dont know because when you see a drummer playing a solo, people will get it right away that he is playing some awsome beats. When people see a band playing they get it that they are playing awsome tunes. But half of the people out there dont know what the hell is going with X Japan.

X Japan is just so powerful in a way that people just cant understand. Like Yoshiki, people dont understand this man's amazing talent with music, its so deep that people wont understand and it would take days to figure out what Yoshiki and his music is all about.

Thats how people are now, your going to see it everyday. People are more ignorant and ignoring the deper meaning of music. All they do is just listen to it and if it sounds good they will like it. They dont study, people are too lazy today that they dont even TRY TO UNDERSTAND the music.

To me Yoshiki's drum solo is one of the best drum solo I've ever seen. It stands out every drummers solo out there becuase he is probably the only drummer who played like this. Not to mention his injury on his neck just shows that he uses his full body with heart, soul and passion just to play the drums.

Thats a huge sacrafice and its a good one too.
