Toshi / Re: New Song from Toshi A song for you

Oh nice! He's a really good singer. Yoshiki should do a collaboration with him!  ;) ;) ;)

I think he also might be scared to come back on stage as a drummer, considering his playing style, his age and the fact that he had multiple surgeries throughout the years. In his Instagram feed I've never seen a recent picture of him playing the drums, they're all throwback images. He's kind of a piano-only musician right now, I think
I really wouldn't mind if he does not come back as a drummer, but only a pianist. As long as he or X does come back to us with some music.

seeing how things are going, it actually has higher chances to be played by anyone but X, in fact.  8)
Sadly true.

Very very nice. The Kurenai cover was cool. This song kicks ass even without X.  8)

Is there a particular reason why the victim chose to talk about what happened now?

She had talked about it some years ago already (2018 or so), but never named the abuser. Said she didn't wanted to until she feels emotionally ready.

I am 100% disgusted by rape, kidnapping, or sexual abuse, but I've gotta say this whole thing seems like kink shaming to me. She was 19, not 15 or 16. She knew who MM was - look at him, listen to his music, read his words - you KNOW he isn't vanilla. She stayed with him, got engaged to him at 23 or 24, and now she says he "groomed" her? Yes, it's pretty gross for a man in his late 30s to date someone so much younger, but at what age do you take responsibility for yourself? Don't get me wrong - if he actually abused anyone without their consent, he should pay and pay dearly - but it seems to me like nobody was held against their will. They kept working for him or sleeping with him. Maybe I haven't heard the whole story and I definitely don't believe in blaming the victims, but I think it's also wrong to blame someone for their consentual kinks. Just my 2 cents...
Also, poor Yoshiki! He has some bad luck for sure.
I don't wanna get explicit here, but please do some research. From what I've gathered just in a few minutes today it was much more going on. Some very disturbing shit. There is no excuse for shit like that. None.

Have you watched it?

I miss Toshi! Why could he bring so many people to sing Endless Rain with him, but not Toshi!  :'(

He's postponed again,don't ask me why😁

Yoshiki is me the day after I made a serious decision about my life.
Haha. Yes indeed that's him. He is always postponing stuff...  :-\

Yoshiki / Re: Why hasn't Yoshiki released a new album?
« on: December 03, 2020, 08:48:15 AM »
I'm an X pessimist but I wouldn't say the reunion was for nothing

Over the past 15 years, they still played dozens of shows including their first ever international tour (even if it's execution left a lot to be desired). Lots of fans got to discover and see them because of that, and their reformation has kept the brand alive in some way. They also released a few official studio songs, which although isn't as good as an album, is better than nothing I guess.

The reunion has been a let down because of what it could be based on Yoshiki's proclaimed vision, but it's still good it happened imo
I agree with you. If there was no reunion I wouldn't have been able to see them live just once in my life. So that's good.

however, I just saw a clip of Yoshiki playing a soundtrack from the Frozen movie and while I was listening, I couldn't hear anything but my freaking mind screaming "I want speed metal again"  :P Good grief, I'm so tired of hearing ballads.
Haha. You were not the only one.  ;D

does anybody remember when Yoshiki asked  us to sing Endless Rain and send the video clips?

I guess he called it quits even on that project?  ???
Yes I remember and I asked myself the same question a few days ago. Let's see if we will ever hear of that project again.

I'm always wondering what is Heath doing all day. He keeps so quiet...

I checked the Japanese Wiki voice about him, nothing new. Did the same with the official website, same result.  :o

is he ghostwriting songs or performing with another stage name?
I swear pretty much noone knows what he is up to. It's almost like... he disappeared.

He basically says he's waiting for the right time and how it's tough when you cannot do a live right now. It's exactly as I said. Yoshiki thinks some magical moment will come by when the American music scene is waiting for him and he'll make a splash. That was 2010 but you fucked around for a decade. Honestly, just release the album and schedule some tour dates when COVID has calmed down a lot, give some banger performances and call it a day.
AMEN to that.

Oh and big thanks to Ekapri for doing this an trying to keep us all up to date. :)

Yoshiki / Re: Does Yoshiki like sweets?

I just had to google this, because i've never heard the term hyperthyroidism (Schilddrüsenüberfunktion in German). Well... I can hardly imagine him having this. But what do I know.  ;)

Oh no... sounds pretty serious.

Yoshiki / Re: Does Yoshiki like sweets?
« on: July 14, 2020, 09:33:45 AM »
I recall that I've read somewhere that Yoshiki might have hyperthyroidism (that would explain his extremely thin body type) and very often people who experience this condition need to eat frequently because of their heavy metabolism, especially sweet treats

I think it is good that you have no expectations for that new album ever to appear.  :D I used to hope for the release every now and then and that hope was pretty pointless.  :-\

Heath / Re: Why Heath no longer provides support vocals?
« on: July 08, 2020, 10:44:32 PM »
the simplest explanation is that X members (not the historical ones, of course) consider themselves musicians for hire and they feel like they belong less than ever to a band. (Not surprisingly...) So they feel like they're allowed to overlook minor details such as background vocals.
It wouldn't surprise me.

Offtopic / Re: So, is this forum dead now or something?
« on: July 07, 2020, 09:34:33 AM »
We live in sad times. The band is reunited but still dead and the fans (the few who are still there and the occasionally new ones that appear) try to keep the fandom alive.

Yoshiki is teasing us with the term "new album" and the word "soon" again: https://twitter.com/YoshikiOfficial/status/1263470925271437312?s=19

He must be joking, right?

General chat / Re: X at its peak?
« on: May 10, 2020, 11:55:17 AM »
meanwhile, Yoshiki plays mind games to the next level trying to ignite a last, faint hope for X:

to be quite honest, even if this album sees the light of day in the next 50 years, it won't be half as successful as expected. I mean, he's right when he says that people have developed a sweet tooth for more electron-ish music and X are not marketable that much anymore. But when will things change?
Argh this tweet. He was really trying to troll us here. Why does he do that with his fans feelings?

A big THX at returner for trying to save all the blog posts for us!  :)

I would agree that their peak was around Jelousy-Release. After that everything started falling apart.

Anyway, I think it's kind of awesome that he got interviewed by BBC. It's nice that he donated the money to the good cause.
Completely agree.  :)
