I finally got a computer so I'm able to visit this site again!!! wooo!!!! Anyways, hide had a very unique voice. Does anyone know what his vocal range was? Would you say he was a good singer or was he just a great song writer. Some people like Kurt Cobain weren't great singers but their music was amazing because of their music writing abilities. So what kind of singer/musician would you call hide?

I learned some of my tapping techniques from watching Taiji. He'll forever be remembered in this life. Now he and hide can rock God. Rest in piece Taiji.

She was my first friend on this forum and one of the first people I ever really talked to about X on facebook. Though I never met her in person I always considered her my friend. Hopefully she can rest with angels now.

I never knew Maverick but I can tell from the way that you all speak of him that he was a great man. My prayers for Maverick and for all of you that are hurt in his passing. Bodies pass, but spirits don't. He's still around rocking each day.

This is good. exactly what i wanted to hear. i'm not even sure why i cared so much but i was troubled if it had been true. maybe i like x a little to much now haha! of course i wish hide never passed and was still giving us much today, but i am glad that their was no horrible drugs involved.

I was talking to a friend who said that hide had crystal meth in his system when he died. I don't remember ever seeing this anywhere. Has anyone heard anything about it? What about the other members? I've never heard of any of them getting into really bad drugs, but does anyone know otherwise?

well i do love the mockingbird too haha!!!! but this one really appealed to me because of the shape. very simple and pretty. but i wouldn't buy is because it only has one pick up and none of the fun features of the mockingbirds. I like 24 frets too lol

I was wondering how tall the members of X are. Including hide. They look short on t.v. but I haven't been able to find how tall they actually are.

X japan and hide only used standard and half down (Eb tuning) right? Did they use anything else?

Thanks wick!!!! So the picks that hizaki and teru use. Are they harder gauges or are they more flexible like hide's. I've been using Dulop jazz picks (the flexible ones) and the jazz III which are much harder. I can't really decided which i like more though. It's driving me crazy!!! But I know I like sharp picks. I guess that's why I'm wondering about the gauge that hizaki and teru use. I can't decide which way I lean on these pics haha!

Wick- how do you know that hide used flexible dull ounce picks?

I ask because I play guitar and I've been messing with picks a lot recently. It made me think about what my favorite guitarists use. I can't find what gauge of pick hide, hizaki, or teru use. I did find that slash uses thick picks, but it's all I can find...

I'd rather listen to "Love, She Wrote" than the bad, bad, bad Vampires Everywhere (I mean, if I were under torture and HAD to choose.) I don't like the music for either, but VE... it's like... everyone one of my ticks put into one damn band.

If I were under torture.. I may have to choose the sound of my own screaming... at least it won't need auto tuner lol!!!

I don't agree with booing a band and getting this upset that these twilight girls are there. I mean, I think they "suck" pretty hard (get it? vampire reference lol) but even if they are booed, I doubt any members of X will hear about it or care really. A small band that tours with a big one like X rarely has any contact with them. And back stage at a show like that you can't even tell what a crowd is doing. You just hear noise. I also don't think that X would be offended if you boo. They have been in the business a long time, I'm sure they've been booed at too. They understand the game and probably won't really be offended or give it a second thought.  I think X does need a gimmicky opening band to help them gain popularity, but there has got to be someone better than this. Auto tune is for people that can't sing. It is an insult to musicians that can actually sing and perform imo.

All these articles tell me is that they are using hide for revenge on Yoshiki for something I don't think he actually did (not purposely anyways). Yes it sucks for the companies going bankrupt, but what the hell kind of company only invests in one band? It's just as much their fault as it is Yoshiki's. He didn't bankrupt them to be mean. Bands cancel tours, it happens to everyone. It's unfortunate, people lose money, butit's reality. A good company works to make it through the problems, they don't use the image of a man that is not with us anymore to get revenge. This is simply wrong. He's not leverage to get revenge. He's not an object to be used to stab at Yoshiki. He's a man that Yoshiki wants to honor and give him something that he always wanted, to be known through out the world.

I really like the song! It doesn't sound much like the old X, but that's not necessarily bad. I love their old music, but I think is more modern and if they could keep this type of music and maybe pepper in some of their older styling flavor it would make for some very interesting new music!

While I hope Yoshiki isn't to stressed, I don't see as a bad thing that he got drunk and trashed some stuff. I've done it before. It feels really good to release emotion and tension that way, though it's not something you should make a habit of!

While I like every member of X I'd have to say that hide is probably my favorite. I came from a very strict background with my parents. I was always the one that pushed their buttons, but I remember hearing X for the first time, it was at the end of Saw 4, and I thought man they kick ass. This girl had been trying to show me them. When I started looking them up on youtube I hated hide. He was everything guys, what I had been taught, were not supposed to be. Slowly I started to realize that he was free. I guess that's why he holds a special place in my heart. I know now it's okay to be different and I'm proud to be, what my parents would say, weird. Plus I think he was a awesome guitar player. So much energy on stage. It's part of what made them so amazing. They all bring different things to the stage and come together and explode into their performances haha!

I just came home from a party early to paly guitar and listen to x. But I played beer pong and won 5 times in a row. go me! now it's time for x and a little guitar for the next couple hours while i play guitar. then sleep. mahybe. and i got into a fight cause this guy looked like gasol from the lakers and i hate that guy. but i won so i all workd out. thats my night. make this topic fun
