Meh, the the song is OK. Not what I hoped for though. Hopefully this is just like the first version of scars. They'll tweak it and make it better. But yes we need a big old injection of old X into this bland music era...

... I should've voted for unfinished Full Band version. They really didn't play the full band one outside of their TV show appearances. Dammit this song is right up there for Voiceless Screaming for me. Perfect interlude.

I think this is the best version of unfinished because this is the only full band version I can find...nonetheless, this is an amazing performance. Perfect in every sense of the word. Now if somebody can actually find this....

Can somebody try and find a good live version of Say Anything?

If anyone can find a good, if not better version of Unfinished? feel free to post!

Meh, I personally hope Rose of Pain or Sadistic Desire gets #1. They already have done incredible lives of them already/ I say we should vote for songs that haven't been played as well/as often throughout their career. So I say it's between Alive and Voiceless screaming for me.

Lol I guess I am the only fan of most of their Ballads. But cmon? Have you SEEN *STRESSED* SEEN! Endless Rain @ the '92 live? That's some emotional stuff right there! Forever Love as well! I guess if you grew up only listening to hard rock/metal you'll find ballads to be really slow and boring... Having 2 older sisters I was forced to listen to the backstreet boys/Hansen crap and I developed a taste for soft ballads.

TOSHI did play it in his solo concert (NK Hall 1993, I have the video), but NOT X/X JAPAN. They won't play Taiji's songs without Taiji in the band.

If X/X JAPAN did play Taiji's song after he quit X, please tell me the exact date of the live ... :p

I was probably thinking of TOSHI's solo. It's the one where they only have one guitarist and a violin (?) in the background.

There is a topic of best lives but I believe this thread serves a slightly different purpose.

As all X-fans should know. The studio versions pale in comparison to the live versions. My mission for the past few months is to find all the best live versions of ALL songs. Hopefully everyone here can chip in and give their opinions in the hopes of creating a definitive, ultimate live setlist of X songs! I'll start off:

Rose of Pain - X live Orchestra @ NHK hall
No contest. Probably the DEFINITIVE best version of Rose of Pain in FULL.

Endless Rain - On the verge of Destruction concert

I've never seen them so emotional while playing this song. Must have been because of Taiji leaving...

Through this format one will be able to find and download the songs with less hassle. And thus, less time spent searching and more time for listening!

I found it interesting that they list the songs written by taiji also, although I don't think he'll preform though since he's preforming in LA on the 12th =/

This is a vote for songs to be played at UPCOMING concerts. So if Voiceless screaming or something else is #1 then they may play the song at a concert that doesn't conflict with Taiji's other projects.

On the other hand they did play voiceless screaming at another live AFTER Taiji left. So it is still possible that they will play the songs WITHOUT Taiji. Unless I'm missing something here.

Goddamit this is hard... they are basically asking us to pick an oldies song...

I'm stuck between (squished) Alive, Standing Sex, Blue Blood, Rose of Pain, and Voiceless Screaming.

Leaning towards Voiceless Screaming right now... Maybe they'll get taiji in the concert if this turns #1.

The new song sounds really ahead of its time. I don't think I've ever heard anything like it. And this is from just a sample 0.o
