Title: Hide's personality and his mental health
Post by: beericy on February 05, 2021, 02:01:23 PM
I know hide is always a cutie pie, I love him so much. But I notice something deep inside of him. As I watched hide's documentary Junk Story and Hurry Go Round, the boss of the bar he used to go said before the day hide died, he saw hide was not having a good time with his fellas and then, he was sitting on the staircase crying.

I've always known hide hides something from we audience, but I want to know it more. Anything to share? Thanks.

Thanks!! I've watched it and it was like a gathering of hide's brother and friends' memories of hide. Is there anything directly from hide? Like some clips or interactions w others or his interviews? I still feel like he is so mysterious in every way.

obviously this is always a difficult topic to discuss about, especially because he wasn't diagnosed back in time (not that we know of, at least). But I remember reading on Reddit a thread where some people were entertaining the hypothesis that he was bipolar and his death accidentally occurred during one of the hypomanic episodes (possibly triggered by heavy alcohol drinking, and Hide was adamant and open about this).
it's not uncommon to have severe mood shifts when this condition hits. You can really go from being super energetic to drowning in your own tears in zero time. I assume that music helped Hide to cover some of this as a typical rockstar extravagance but there might have been more to it.

thanks for the links, it's sad that most resources about X and Hide can't be found outside of the Wayback Machine  :(

I think that all of the lyrics to the whole Hide Your Face album need to be viewed closely from the perspective of somebody who is really suffering. I'm not sure if it's just my feelings, but that surely is a very dark record. Especially the words to Dice are haunting.
