Title: Endless Rain solo
Post by: pt_93 on March 20, 2018, 12:57:05 AM
Hello! I just wanted to share this with you, it's not perfect but I got lazy to re-record lol the video quality kinda sucks. Oh well, maybe if I put on a dinasour onesie while I play Yoshiki will invite me to Yoshiki Channel. TBH I get nervous when I'm recording, I thought maybe if I started sharing with other people that would help.

thank you! and I'd like to share more videos for sure. I guess i have some kind of stage fright, that's why I usually just play for myself but I'm hoping recording and sharing even when it's not all perfect will help me.

Maybe just solos at first, I have tendonitis and playing chords is really hurting lately so I do short sessions of that.

I'd say keep practicing playing in front of that recorder, even if you don't upload what you do.  Even all the pros make mistakes and that's normal, no mater what instrument you are playing.  There are a lot of super professional artists who get stage fright before concerts, even people who have performed for 40+ years, weekly or more.   Don't let that stop you from your dreams.  Just keep doing what you are doing.

Sorry to hear about your tendonitis.  My ex, who is a lead guitarist, developed some problem in his left hand that caused a lot of pain when he was playing.   I haven't seen him play in about 4 years but I know he got steroid shots in his hand to help the pain.  You may want to consult a doctor to see if there is anything that can help you with that pain and not be some addictive painkiller drug.  Maybe that would help you.  I really don't know but you can always ask.  It can't hurt and if they say no, then you can't say you didn't try.   :)

Yeah, I'm trying to do that. I don't have any desire to play in band or anything like that but sometimes I'd like to share some videos with my friends, I know they'll appreciate them but ahhh I'm working on that.

I did go to the doctor, I'm in treatment (physio, meds, etc) and it has helped a lot actually, I was also advised to play less which I'm doing and I also have to wear braces (oh, the irony....).

You might eventually want to play in a band or have a band and play, live.  Never say never.  lol

The brace thing sucks. I had to wear one for carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist (too much time on the computer - ha!)  Thank goodness, I only had to wear it while I was sleeping but it sure did help.

Good luck with all of that!

That's nice, I like it... and the guitar  ;D :-*
P.s. Try high homeopathic dilutions with a skilled pro  ;)

thank you, you're all very nice :) It took me months to find a guitar that wasn't already sold when I asked and that it was SOMEWHAT affordable for me lol luckily, this was also in great condition, like new, you really couldn't tell it wasn't.

I only had to wear it while I was sleeping but it sure did help.

ah yes, I have to wear it while sleeping. During the day I only wear the left brace after therapy, after playing guitar or when I'm not doing anything for long periods of time (like commuting or watching a movie), it's the kind of brace that keeps your thumb still so it wouldn't let me do my daily activities with it.

Mine was to keep my wrist in an upturned position and stay that way to take the pressure off the nerve.  It worked.  Good think I didn't have to wear it for working because there was no way I could have typed with my wrist in that position.
