I'm surprised that no one's jumped on this yet.
Yoshiki put out a notice on Facebook earlier on the 3rd about an "ask me anything" event on Reddit on the 4th. If you wanna ask Yoshiki those difficult questions (but let's face it, WE all do), it'll be at this URL - /r/AskMeAnything (https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/) starting at 3:05 PM EASTERN time
Let's hope he doesn't answer asinine questions like last time (I swear to God, if he answers another "what's your favorite anime?" question, I'm gonna scream). . .

Yoshiki! I'm so happy you're doing this! I saw X Japan at Madison Square Garden and my mind was blown at how amazing the show was, I can't wait to see you guys live again.
Since you are so busy, what do you like to do in your free time to relax?
Will the new album be released on vinyl at all/ any possible reissues of older albums on vinyl? Thanks so much for doing this!

*#1. With the new album, are there any collaborations with other artists on there or is it all X Japan?
*#2. What's the most easiest & most difficult thing(s) about your song writing process?
*#3. If & when there's another world tour, would you & the rest of the band consider meet & greets with fans? (It's a dream of mine to meet ToshI, but I rarely hear anything about overseas/western meet & greets at concerts)
*#4. Not really a question, but I wanted to remind you to please not forget about the "putting all the albums on vinyl" idea. (I know that I asked this to you on night 2 of the "We Are X" Q&A in L.A., but I sincerely hope that you or whoever else is in charge of re-releasing albums jots that down)

Q. Will there be an extensive US tour in support of the new album once it is released?
Y. I've been talking to our agent. There's a big possibility.
Q. When is We Are X being released on DVD? I really want to see it.
Is the Violet UK album ever coming out or is that a done deal?
Why don't you play older songs, like Alive , anymore? Or even things like Longing (not acoustic). I'm sure a lot of fans would be glad if you did.
Y. We don't have a date yet, but why don't you check it out in theaters first and see it twice?
Believe it or not it's almost done. I'm still working on it. I will release it after X Japan's album is done. Unbelievable.
If you keep requesting, I will play. No songs are dead.
Q. Do you have any regrets in life? Things that you didn't do and you should have done, and things that you shouldn't have done but you did them anyway?
Y. Regrets... why couldn't I be there right before HIDE passed away? Why couldn't I be there right before my father took his own life? Why couldn't I be there when TAIJI took his own life? Why couldn't I be there when TOSHI got swept into the brainwashing?
Q. Who are your biggest musical inspirations?
Y. HIDE and TAIJI
Q. Would you ever come back to Canada to play concerts again?
Y. I would love to come back. You have great maple syrup and poutine. (PS I used to date Miss Canada)

Y. Several songs from X Japan the classical orchestra versions. And the song I composed for the Emperor of Japan. Hmmm maybe a classical tune like Beethoven, Chopin and Tchaikovsky. Most likely a new song from X Japan's album.
Q. Where is the most favorite place in New York??
Y. Used to be Madison Square Garden, now it's Carnegie Hall. And the hotel I'm staying in. The Alamo Drafthouse in BK is amazing, we are going tonight. Hope to see you there.

Y. A week of my life... 3 days I'm on the plane, then another 3 days working straight through... recording, performing or doing interviews. One day of straight drinking (or sleeping).

Y. I always thought music is a universal language, there are no boundaries. I'm really glad you guys are now interested in our music. I'm really glad we didn't give up trying to reach you. Thank you.

Y. As for bucket list, X JAPAN has Wembley Arena coming up on March 4th. We are planning on another world tour. As of now, WE ARE X is playing across the country. It's been an emotional journey seeing our lives played out on the big screen, but my sincere thanks to people like you who are listening to our story.

I know, right? Must be very challenging sitting on a leather couch in a studio for an hour typing or perhaps even TELLING someone what to type for him. There was one question that I'm glad he actually answered though, someone posted a snarky, "so never?" when the album release was being talked about and he replied with "believe it or not, it will happen." which made me happy to see even though we're still left with no tangible evidence of that being true.
My true gut feeling on why this is all taking so long is that Yoshiki had originally planned to release the "new album" as basically a compilation of their most popular songs re-recorded in English. Somewhere along the line he was probably told or found out himself that it's not a great idea and that he should just make all, more mostly all new songs, so to be fair, maybe he had to go back to the drawing board and get new songs going. Here's the caveat though, WHY all of the "it's 90%, almost ready, likely release end of this year, I promise", and the instagram photo of the "master tracking disc", a stage of recording that is near the end. ALSO, we know Yoshiki, this new album will likely have, Jade, I.V, Born To Be Free, Hero, Beneath The Skin, and now La Venus. So half of it we already know! It's just like Dahlia as someone pointed out, half comprised of previously released singles.

I disagree. The fans are hungry and eager for new content and shows; Yoshiki needs to know that. Everyone is sick and tired of the same old questions about his favorite desserts, his favorite city/place, kawaii nurse weaboo anime nonsense. It's not time wasted because Yoshiki will only answer however many he wants to answer anyway.

The thing is, that this could have been covered in just one(two) question(s) and that answer would actually have been relevant for all fans: Will there be another world tour? Which places will you tour?
But having him answer to every single country seperately? What a waste of time! It's only interesting if you are from this specific country and for everyone else it's just annoying.
And yes I'm not a big fan of this whole bunch of kawaii/nonsense questions as well. Answering one or two of them is okay, but that shouldn't be the majority of questions anwered. I would have appreciated if he answered more questions to the history of X Japan, recent activities, other band projects or the album release (if that is going to happen, we never know).

I found his answer kind of pedantic/presumptuous, I wouldn't expect such a haughty response.
As for the album, well, believe it or not, we are still waiting Yoshiki!

Indeed!!!!! That response was absolutely unneeded - and didn't even really have something to do with the question that was asked...
But I like how LucsX told him to send him a copy so he actually has a chance to watch it. :P

Yeeeeeeeeah. I cringed hard when I read that response from Yoshiki. Maybe it's just me though, but maybe it was just way of saying "there's nothing more you need to know since everything is in the movie"? Or it's just Yoshiki being Yoshiki, who knows? I do have to say that some of the questions asked were a bit on the snarky side to begin with (still doesn't justify much of Yoshiki's replies either way).
Anyways, as with everyone else, I don't enjoy reading or Yoshiki answering all the "kawaii uguu-fangirl information mining" questions. Such a waste of time. The "come to so-and-so country" questions are nice in my opinion, as to me, it shows that other countries are getting swept up into the band, which is great.

I dunno. There's skeletons in everybody's closet & there's only so much one can reveal before it crosses a certain line, y'know? Was the response in bad taste? Ehhhh, kinda. But let's be real here for a sec, what more do we need to know about Yoshiki's personal life?

We don't need more information, there's no vital thing to know for sure.
But I guess, just saying "Watch WE ARE X there's everything in it" would've have suffice.
Or, you know, something trivial like "My favourite animals are raccoons".
I don't think there was any intention of violate Yoshiki's privacy with that question, hence why I don't like the answer, that's all.

IIRC the first time the "new album" was announced to be released it was in September 2010 (so already 3 years after the reunion!) or early 2011...
And I think, the "90% done" leitmotif appeared around 2011 too I think.
Now, as it will probably be released in March, it'll be 9 years after the 3-days reunion concerts of March 2008...
So it's not that we don't like Yoshiki (I, for one, don't) but to be upset about all of this seems fair.

People all over the world are expecting a new X Japan release, which would be the first in over 20 years.
After the major label debut from Sony, a lot of labels have taken us under their wing and at one point I even started my own label. To be a signed artist means that I have to give up certain legal rights to my music. Though I don't want to go against record companies, I have to think carefully about how much they will work on promotion in compensation and also about role management including what I can do myself.
What kind of an answer is that?! Clearly, there's no good reason why the album is years and years delayed. At least we have a release date set by a media company for We Are X in February. If that works and Wembley doesn't get cancelled, I'll start believing it's going to be ok with this band.
