Title: taiji is arrested in the U.S.?
Post by: rafaelo on July 14, 2011, 09:31:40 AM
A MAN was arrested on the charge of interference with a flight attendant on a July 11 flight.

Taiji Sawada was brought to the U.S. District Court for the NMI for his initial appearance yesterday afternoon.

Assistant U.S. Attorney James Benedetto, who represented the federal government, moved for a detention hearing today.

Mark Hanson is the court-appointed defense attorney.

Visiting federal Judge William Q. Hayes remanded Sawada to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service after the hearing.

In her affidavit of probable cause, Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent Mary H. Goff told the court that prior to the incident, Sawada was in the business class cabin of Delta Flight 298.

A flight attendant said she heard loud noises and banging coming from the business class cabin, where she saw Sawada and a female passenger struggling.

The passenger had her arms wrapped around Sawada who was kicking and yelling, and was throwing his body against the window.

The plane was already descending in preparation for landing within 10 minutes.

Two other passengers helped in physically restraining Sawada.

The captain was notified and Sawada was moved to a different seat. Five passengers had to be moved.

Two passengers sat next to Sawada to watch him.

He later became angry with another passenger, and started punching the window and kicking the seat in front of him.

The flight attendant said Sawada kicked her several times.

After Sawada was physically restrained, he continued to kick and bang his head on the seat.

No other details about the case were available.

At this point I don't think anyone should care about his bass skills.

Hope he's alright, and wondered what caused this, some sites say it started with him struggling with a female staff on the plane, another said he got in a fight with a passanger and was then restricted. Is this part of his mental issues, because I havn't heard of him doing this kind of thing before, has anyone else? Hopefullly him trying to kill himself wasn't under a clear state of mind/thought out decision or anything. He could be going through a lot of personal things we don't know about though.

sorry for the double post, but seems that was to much in one row

I do agree with you absolutly about his bass skills, doesn´t matter by now, and I don´t have any idea, what happend to him, he went through so many heavy stuff in his life, so I can´t imagine that the suicide attempt got to do with what happend at the plane, for misbehavior like that you won´t get hard punishment, will you?
I do hope he´ll get better soon, because he seems to had a beautiful time the month he spent on Saipan, full of joy and even new plans for the future

Taiji has had a lot of problems, some of which he was purely unlucky with such as having a stroke and various other health complaints - but others have been entirely of his own making.

He became homeless after leaving Loudness because he pissed his fortune up the wall and snorted it up his nose - laying to waste his unquestionable talents. He's been given chance after chance to turn his life around. People have taken him under their wing, given him projects to work on, given him jobs, and in some cases just given him hard-cash - but he has continued to throw away his talents and lead himself into bad situations.

Why did he go crazy on an airflight? I have no idea - but he's clearly a man with a lot of issues. Do I feel sorry for him being detained and put before a trial? No - he deserves it for such terrible and reckless behaviour.

But for Gods-sake - let's please not lose another X musician from this world due, especially not by hanging.

Damn you Taiji, wtf were you thinking?

Maybe the plane incident had something to do with the suicide attempt. Maybe something happened in that plane that made the suicidal thoughts come back to him....

but, we won't know for sure, not with this little amount of information.

I don't want to start speculating but those were probably the reasons that led him to do what he did, sometimes reasoning doesn't work well specially when you're drunk (if he was that is...), realising that you are the reason for your demise is very painful even more for someone like him, with a great future right in front of him and wasting it in such a manner.

God, I just don't want to wake up tomorrow and find out the worse happened.

I fully agree with you. Usually people feel sorry for a person who commits suicide and forget about those who are left alone with their grief and terrible pain. Causing such pain to those who love you is one of the worst thing a man could ever do.
Anyway, I do feel sorry for Taiji, may he rest in peace.
And I condole with his family and friends.

From one article I read he told his lawyer he was aggressive on the airplane because he was "angry with himself"... Perhaps there was something deeper which was affecting him.

You've expressed my thoughts. After learning about the hard times he went through and all those bad things happened to him, I supposed that he was returning to normal level and finding his way *finally*. I can't imagine what could've forced him to put an end to his life. I still think the accident was caused by drugs only. Meaning, his death bears a resemblance to hide's death - absolutely unaccountable. Or, there were some deeper problems that we would hardly find out

@XVikyX: my idea is a different one, he was about 5 weeks in Saipan, met a lot of important people, was working on new material and make a lot of friends there, and than such a lapsenon the plane, after all he is japanese, and it is still terrible for them to lose the face (don´t know if this is correct in english), and thats what happend to him and I think his suicede was a rash action, but I do have no proof for that, maybe I´m total wrong, it´s only what came to my mind by reading how things went and compare with the stuff I found on his blog, wich I translated by google and sometimes posted it here on the forum, unfortuanally the site vanished, so we can´t recall it, too bad

you speak for translating talk of the members of X
here
YOSHIKI
“When I heard the sudden news about TAIJI, I felt a shock I can’t put into words… my mind still can’t make sense of it.The memory of us playing together last year at Nissan Stadium came back as if it were just yesterday.

When I think about how all the fans must feel, I feel like my heart is breaking… but at times like these, I feel that we have to be strong.

We can’t go on being weighed down (by the loss of) TAIJI and HIDE.

I pray that TAIJI, who was a great bassist, sleeps peacefully.”

-

TOSHI
“I was so shocked by the sudden news that I couldn’t believe it. Right now, I can’t think of anything more to say than that.”

-

PATA
“It’s a shame that I’ve lost a friend I was with during the many years from our indies career until our major debut, and during the rocky times.

I pray for his happiness in the next world.”

-

HEATH
“I was greatly shocked by the sudden sad news.

When we appeared at Nissan Stadium last year, he told me, ‘We’ll play together again’, so I didn’t think I’d receive this kind of news.

Right now, I’m so sad and brimming over with such feelings of regret that I can’t put them into words.

To represent my heartfelt condolences, I’ll pray for his happiness in the next world.”

-

SUGIZO
“TAIJI-san was a unique, overwhelmingly talented musician.
Japan’s music scene has lost a huge spirit.
It’s sad…
From the bottom of my heart, I pray for the happiness of a rock ‘n roller whose life was full of ups and down, and who should be respected.”

@elanor: I understand what you mean *losing one's face  - there's similar idiom in my native language*.  it may be hard for Japanese people to deal with disgrace, but I have no idea whether it could lead to suicide x__x And there rises another question about what caused the incident aboard the plane -_- Well, my brain just can't digest the latest events.
@rafaelo: thanks for the updates. The guys are right, all we can do is to pray...

@rafaelo: Thanx for the updates. The words that the members of X spoke were very touching and made me terribly sad.

But yoshiki is right, we must not let the loss of him bring us down. As far as I'm concerned, he always has and always will be a part of X Japan, just as hide is.

crawdaddy.com clarifies the things a little bit. But the last paragraph sounds frightful =( I can make no sense of this terrible chain of events -- epileptic fit - the incident on the plane - the arrest - the suicide..
The comments on japantoday are so obnoxious -_-

His behaviour on the plane WAS NOT epilepsy related. There is a Saipan Tribune article which quotes his defense lawyer who said that Taiji "wasn't angry with anyone, he was angry with himself" and that he "stood a good chance of getting out" of a jail sentance.

I think we have to be a bit patient, could be there is an investigation, because he died in a hospital, but he injured himself in a jail, don´t know how it is for the U.S., I know for Germany if a prisoner is able to hurt himself during castody, the employees have to explain a lot, so may be we will get further information

don´t know what kind of newspaper that is, if there are serious or not, but it seems that there is something unresolved about his death, until now there is nothing about the funeral as far as I found out and no offical statement from the U.S. authorities about the reason for his death, it´s all a bit odd
but for the page you posted, I don´t know what to say, can open it properly, only reading the headlines... :-\

Thanx for posting Rafaelo, it´s a bit like the opinion of that writer: http://www.ozconspiracyhouse.org/frontend/2011/07/25/reader-tipoff-taiji-sawadas-strange-death-in-police-custody/
and yes there is something very strange, and he wouldn´t be the first one, who died in castody after bad treatment by the jailers...
and if it´s really true, that they found traces of tape in his face, than one can´t tell about suicide,
I thing it´s strange, that there are bedsheets wich can removed from the bed, but for sure they won´t let same tape in the cell...
but I don´t expect, that we´ll ever get the truth

Here is a quick summary of Sister MAYO's message:

She says thanks and apologises to everyone for all the trouble.
She and her mother were shocked at first with anger and sadness, but now have calmed down and made their peace. She met many friends of Taiji in Saipan, who showed her photos of him in which she saw a smile she hadn't seen for a long time, because of the hardness in Japan. It looked like he found his place in Saipan, like he was loved there. He was enthusiastic in Saipan, looking forward.
She would like to do some of the things Taiji wanted to do. She says thanks to staff in Japan, staff in Saipan, and to everyone who beleved in and supported Taiji. Taiji will keep living inside of her and everyone's heart.

credits is thanks.my friends sanorin

http://022.holidayblog.jp/?p=5799

and this message from your mother
http://022.holidayblog.jp/?p=5800

I do not understand anything
I'm going crazy

that´s the translation of the first of the two sources, my japanese teacher was translating that for me, the second one I didn´t let translate, bacause it was reported it was a fake

....it seems that this whole thing is wrapped up in secrecy and it is likely to remain unsaid and unsolved.
Right from the beginning someone was manipulating the situation and the media.(Wrote my teacher)
"It is said that he committed suicide on 14th July after he got arrested on 11th July, but the news broke 2 days later on 16th and
there were some news that he was conscious and able to talk, which were all not true. He was actually brain dead. I am very sure someone is manipulating the media." said a close co-worker.

The person who holds the key for the whole thing is Terumi Kitami. She is a founder and president of 'YOU PRODUCTION'(Taiji's agent).
She was actually with him whole time when he got arrested, committed suicide and was in ICU. She was using Taiji's mobile phone and texting that he was ok.
"It seems that she was texting in order to save herself. She even sent sms from Taiji's mobile phone blaming his fiance,Tomomi Akatsuka, for his arrest and suicide attempt. What is more, she didn't visit him when he was in hospital despite of accompanying him whole time before the incident occured." said the same close co-worker.
Terumi Kitami should know every detail on his arrest, suicide attempt and death but she would never talk till now.

There is another story behind this.
"Yoshihiro Kitami, Terumi's husband owns a big resort hotel called 'Mariana Resort and Spa' in Saipan and it is managed by YOU PRODUCTION. The business was so big that the company has got many connections like Supreme court judge and Police in Saipan. It is very natural to think that there is something going both Saipan and Kitami want to hide."

Rumor has it that Terumi and Yoshihiro got already divorced and Terumi might have wanted to get married toTaiji.
There are too many questions about his death. What triggers his suicide? Why is there no news on police investigation? It is said that there was no marks on his neck, while he hung himself with a bed sheet and there was even a sign of sticky tape taking off around his mouth..... what makes it possible to bring Taiji's body secretly from Saipan in this situation? Do Japanese embassy and Foreign Ministy know about this? There is no dout that a sort of serious connections going between Saipan and Mariana resort and spa. Saipan is getting more dangerous for Japanese tourist.

That is all about the text. Ya, it might not be suicide.....I was also wondering why Taiji was acting violently in a plane.
Zum Schluss, it is sooooooo mysterious and it will remain so under this circumstances......."
