Hi all!!
I've been playing a lot of X recently, and I got an idea. Basically if you guys ask me to cover something, then I'll film myself playing it (on guitar probably, maybe piano for some ballads) and put it up on youtube... If it goes well I might try and cover the song with my band!!
Any X song is fine, although the early stuff (like pre-VV) will take longer to learn.
If anyone else wants to cover the songs requested than please post your videos (just so we know it's you!!)
I look forward to the first request
EDIT: Solo stuff is also welcome, as is stuff by bands "related" to X (Luna Sea etc)

hmmm the first song that popped into my head was Tuneup Baby (from Jun's demotape) until I read that pre-VV is a bigger problem... it'd still be cool though :D
I'd also love to see an Xclamation cover
But anything will make me happy, so go for it! I'm looking forward to hearing more stuff!

Thanks!! Yea I work all my covers out by ear, and when I can I watch videos of them performing it.

Just a quick update, PAF is taking it's time and Saver Tiger will have to wait as I'm having trouble tuning my guitar to the shitty quality :P

Question, why has noone, including people who do guitar covers on youtube and X Tribute bands, tried to recreate the old Indie X songs like Lady in tears, Stop Bloody Rain and Break the Darkness? There are a few riffs and sections of the songs that are hard to hear because of the blurry quality of the clips, but I think you can here them well enough in both atmosphere, sound and the individual notes to recreate the tracks pretty well, and the parts that are inaudible can be half recreated and half made up based on the audio.
I know Tordek isn't taking requests, this thread is long gone now, but the thread title is basically "request a song to be covered" and its in the cover section of the forum, probably the best place to ask this question if anyone decides to attempt to cover the old songs.
