I'm just interested. Lets say the World Tour has about 15-20 shows in total, leaving out the shows in Japan. How would you like the DVDs with the concerts to be released?
The poll is never-ending.
-
all and everything on dvd. I'd pay a fortune (at least a huge sum...of what I've got) for it. I'd love to watch the whole tour, live by live.
Of course this is only a dream, but i'd be really cool to be able to watch a complete pro-shot tour in a row.
-
One big Box-Set would rock, every concert in Pro-Shot quality is really something I would like to have, would also be happy if they would release every concert (or as many as possible) as a single (or double) DVD and you could buy them one after another.
-
I want everything!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeverything!!!! :9
-
I want it to be....nice and shiny!!!!! HAHAHAHA
-
and much backstage material *nosebleed*
-
but of course we'd need backstage stuff.
Naked YOSHIKI, Toshi and his little bonzai and Pata and Jack Daniels!!

OOOOOHHH WE DOOOO *sorry, can't control my perv mind* :3
*khm* Ignore me.

First they should release March concerts and old ones :S But if some thing was released for the World Tour, I'd like the biggest one
-
Yeah, what darkcat said. I'm not actually interested in any new box set just yet. Why can't they leave it like this? Every concert must be on a DVD it seems. The March concerts were special, but the rest is not that important to me. IF there is a box set to come that is ridicuously huge and expensive I might join the people who always ask for rips, because I'm kinda done spending my money on things I don't quite enjoy (DVD excess, not X Japan).
-
I think, in terms of practicality, we will either see a few selected concerts from the world tour, or some kind of highlights DVD. I think it's very unlikely that the band would pay for the kind of post-production needed for 15 to 20 full shows - especially as it will be likely that there simply will not be a big enough market for such a huge collection.
-
I want that the DVD leave differently in each country. The concert of France in France, that from Hong-Kong to Hong-Kong…. In more that will be always less expensive than the Japanese DVD ;D In all the case, one will be able to always find them on Internet, therefore that would not be a problem, I think.
In any case, I quickly hope for a DVD box of March's concerts, a new edition of Vanishing Vision, Art of Life & Dahlia and the end of re-released DVD, LAST LIVE & DAHLIA TOUR FINAL... :)
-
Well, I think they should release the best concert of the tour (probably from Tokyo Dome). Also a Bonus DVD with some other songs which they didn't play on that concert. I haven't seen the Hong Kong gigs but the Japanese shows are not worth releasing in my opinion. The New Year's gig was pretty nice and Toshi actually sounded good but it's just too short. The 3rd night of the reunion gigs was pretty good (if I remember right), but Toshi voice wasn't anything special. At least it was better than the disastrous 1st night. So if I have to pick one gig so far to be released on DVD, it would be the 3rd night of the reunion shows.
-
I hope that when we get the reunion lives, that there is going to be a box with all 3 lives. This was indeed a historic moment. And it needs to be released full uncut and complete.
Concerning Toshi's voice, it did get better after the lives, but don't forget that he really was moved during those lives. He was very emo.

I agree that the reunion concerts need to be released in full, more so the fact they all three had 3 very different set lists.
Even though Toshi's voice was no where near perfect to begin with, it did get better and I have to admit that there were times during these concerts that, for some reason, I thought his voice being not as....controlled....as it is normally, sounded quite good.....if that makes sense....
-
I choose the big box, composed of the best performances from each concert.
Why?
Because I want it to be another 'Visual Shock' DVD ... Visual Shock vol.2 is a good example, where they combine many of their performance during tour into one dvd
-
Some people have money to buy huge box sets; I don't.
So I prefer the "seperate" dvd's, so I can buy one each month or so.
-
blu ray box sets!
-
NOT BLU RAY! Lol, I only have DVD.
-
Blu ray SUX.
And I agree with MIHO. I'm not a millionaire, damn! ><
-
Blu Ray doesn't live up to the hype. I'm still not considering getting a blu ray player.
-
It'd be nice if there were separate boxes for each continent.
They would be expensive, but they'd still be very buyable (is that even a word? =D).
Edit: Just woke up and I'm already misspelling. X__X
-
i want a huge one (30-40dvd) with reasonable prize or cheap prize, selfish mode on
-
i dun want to miss a thing !
-
Maybe not highlights from each concert, just a selection of the best concerts of the tour. This would narrow down the amount of dvds(cheaper prize) and would improve the overall experience as you could see the whole show. I wouldn't say no to a concert in blu-ray too! :P
As darkcat said, first and foremost there are the older concerts, like the 1995 ones.
-
I would like it to be a box set for each region, I think it would sell more price wise and people who say saw it in Paris can chose if they want them all or just the show that they saw and see what there neibours saw as well, plus at a guess it would be cheaper. I dont care really just aslong as all shows are released some how.
-
I want them all+backstage footages+more
-
the full Jan 17 concert in HK is a must. it would be criminal if it's not released on a separate disc as that was the best concert they ever had, according to Yoshiki himself.
-
I want huge DVD set,I don't like a separate release for each country
-
the best idea is not to appeal to the hardcores, but to win over new international fans - and the way to do that isn't with some massive box set. Just release a single concert on DVD with the goal of winning over new fans outside of Asia.
-
Don't release it, break up the band, wait ten years, get back to together, then release the concert. Just like the Aoi Yuro/Shiroi Yuro, and the X JAPAN RETURNS DVDs.
...but in all seriousness, throw together another Visual Shock DVD...then maybe release the rest of the concerts on iTunes?
-
Come on, Blu-Ray is already a success and it's here to stay. In addition to having a concert on just one disc rater than 2 or 3, we get HD video (don't know for sure if the recent shows were shot in HD, I'd assume they were) and lossless or uncompressed sound. However, I did hear Luna Sea's One Night Dejavu was poorly done. Either way, no one loses out because there wouldn't be Blu-Ray versions without DVD versions.
To answer the question of the thread, I don't think releasing 80-90% of the shows on video is necessary, but I'll buy whatever comes out.
-
honestly, i want EVERYTHING. but that is just not practical. They'll never do that....

Blu-Ray would be incredible! Of course that means they'll just release it on DVD. :(
-
huge boxset please and yes, blu-ray AND dvd. Not just DVD. I have a HD TV and a PS3. I've got one of the Yokohama concerts from august on blu ray (bootleg of course) and the quality is FANTASTIC.
-
Hm, with all the concerts they have performed since their reunion, I reckon one of the best things they could release, like other people have said, is another volume of Visual Shock. They have dome concerts, HK concerts, Yokohama concerts, a Taipei concert, choosing the best performances out of those shows would make for an awesome DVD!
