Hello! Greets!!

I'm new here, and it's been more than a couple of years since I last participated in a forum. I hope I don't break any rules...

I l o v e X Japan. L O V E  T H E M.

I've just found out they're going to Chicago again. Just found out TODAY.

I haven't been to Chicago in 20 years. My all-time favorite band is going to play again in my hometown. This is a sign from the god of metal and hair. I currently live in Mexico and will not think twice about trekking all the way to Chicago to see them. *squeal*

Getting to the point... I have never bought tickets online before, and the prices from ETIX vary greatly from those on other pages... Is there anyone who can clear this up, please??
Why the price difference... or rather, what does one have to do to get a GREAT FRONT ROW SEAT???

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

        Love lots!!   - Chio

I'm not going to this concert, and haven't bought tickets, but it seems to me like the venue doesn't have seating in front of the stage... So you should probably just buy tickets from the link in the first post and get there early. It doesn't sound like they have special front-row tickets. I'm not sure, though. I guess you could call them and ask. Good luck!

Thank you for replying! There seem to be $62 tickets for General Admission Area and $262 ones for the FLOOR Area... but this seating map doesn't really explain how that works:

http://intl.ticketseating.com/maps/450w/2449-riviera-theatre-end-stage.jpg

(is it ok to post a link like this?)

Where are the $30 seats? A friend says it's the "sidewalk special" ticket. durr. :)

hm... the only option I was given was the $29 ticket when I bought mine. Looking at it, it doesn't say *where* in the venue the seat is located o_o

That is... slightly confusing.
Looks like I'll be calling them tomorrow.

Yay! Another Chicago attendee! (yup, finally decided on Windy City tickets  ;D )
Do you think you can post and let us know what they tell you?? I'm not in the US, or I would've made a call myself. And there's no e-mail addy to contact people at the Riviera, unless you want to rent the venue.

Wouldn't it be great if there were VIP tickets??? I was able to exchange a Versailles GA to a VIP seat and just paid the difference when they toured here...

We     Are      X!!!

That would be awesome!

I'll be sure to update here after I've talked to them tomorrow. I *think* it means that all the tickets are GA, since there isn't a choice on price or anything.
But it doesn't hurt to make sure.
Title: Re: X Japan World Tour @ Riviera Theatre, Chicago, IL - October 6th
Post by: Chio on August 23, 2010, 12:37:54 AM
When all tickets are GA, is it first in line, first who gets a running start and can get closest to the stage?
I've heard of people who get in line the night before. I'm not sure I'd go that far since over here it's discouraged even by the venue staff (at least at the Circo Volador). At night, the waiting fans are easy targets for muggings, or worse.

I've been to concerts where one arrives there early and shows their ticket at the box office, receives a number, and doesn't have to worry about getting in line until an hour before the show.

Any info about places near the Riviera where we can find food, drinks, and even a public bathroom, will be greatly appreciated! (I probably *will* spend the whole day in line) :)

With GA your best bet is to get there and get in line as early as possible. People tend to camp out overnight too (although it's not always smart or safe). It really depends on the venue, like you said, some places don't like it. Most of the places I've been to in Chicago don't really care

One place I went to even gave the people who'd been in line for 3 days free stuff, lol.

I've actually never been to a live where they give out numbers... I love the idea; I wish they *would* use it here. It would really cut down on the chaos.

I'll check out the area too. I know the theater is pretty close to the hotel I'm staying at and I know there are convenience stores and stuff like that around.

Would it be rude to the other attendees if members from a small group took turns waiting in line, kind of like a "tag-team"? I do *not* mean someone saving a spot for their friends and letting 10 of them cut in line. I've thumped a student or five for doing that in cafeteria lines. :D

Free stuff in exchange for your time, daily life, and concern for higiene? Fair trade! (or how did the 3-day people mandage to shower?)

I've actually never been to a live where they give out numbers... I love the idea; I wish they *would* use it here. It would really cut down on the chaos.

Much shoving, pushing and swearing accompanied the "order", but the number does give you freedom for a few hours. Maybe someone from the venue staff will read your suggestion (looking around).

I'm surprised there aren't more peeps posting here! I'll try to contribute with whatever seems useful. :)

I hope they DO! All of their songs were new at some point, right? I'm excited they're breaking in the new songs!

And if you do not rock, then *we* will rock you.  8)

I don't mind the new songs. JADE is really starting to grow on me, actually.
I am kinda hoping they stick to the Japanese versions of some songs though (i.e. Rusty Nail and Kurenai). I get that they want to promote their new album in the US and that's awesome! But no one knows the English lyrics -- I'm not sure if the Eng. version of Kurenai is the same as the one on Vanishing Vision. It was hard to tell at Lolla and Toshi ended up switching to the Japanese version halfway through the song

Hi everyone!

why is this thread so dead? concerts in less than a week! =P
anyways, im new to the forum (been lurking for a while though haha) and i just wanted to give a little bit of my X background.

Im an american and i dont speak a word of Japanese (well minus X lyrics and band member names) and about 4 years ago i was looking up the Dream Theater song, a change of seasons. in the comment section i saw a debate between X fans talking about a song called, Art of Life and the dream theater fans. I thought these people were crazy saying some "obscure" japanese band could topple dream theater. regardless, i looked up Art of Life. i was immediatly moved by the song and now looking back four years, X Japan has become one of my favorite bands of all time. they are surely special and have made music that has moved me like none other. I never thought id have the chance to see them even with their reunion and kept telling myself things like the concerts have been marred by delays, it isnt the same without hide (who also became one of my fav guitarists of all time), and they dont usually play Art of Life, etc. all these i told myself to simply make myself feel better hehe but in truth i always dreamed of seeing X Japan, especially with Sugizo on guitar. I quickly ate up IV, fell in LOVE with Jade, and now am really into Born to Be Free. I was thrilled with hearing about a new album finally coming out and figured that would be enough for me. Then I heard the best news yet. They were playing at Lollapalooza. Im from Michigan and it would be a 5 hour better yet, my girlfriend had tickets for lolla (she isnt even an X fan haha). However as it turned out, I could not go and by chance my gf ended up seeing X... kind of funny to think about she was in the right festival at the right time so she saw them for me and got me a shirt. I was sad I missed out but figured it was just a 5 song setlist. I then prayed the North American tour would include a stop in Detroit. Finally, the dates were announced and it was only 7 cities. I was really upset seeing as im now back to doing my college courses -_- Last week I decided to check out the show at the WIltern and man, I was blown away. Seeing them in a small theater setting and the setlist... Silent Jelousy, Drain, among the usual staples plus the three new songs. then I saw the encore... Art of Freaking Life. My favorite song in history. I saw they played the entire second half of the song. I really figured there was no way this would be played as it isnt exactly "radio friendly" and theyre  trying to break into America. I sadly told my gf of the awesomeness of the tour. She then asked, "Why are we not going, again?" haha. So now i have decided that we are going to drive all the way to Chicago, see the show, and drive back. My family wont know and i wont even miss a class hahaha. Im just so freaking excited... Im seeing X Japan, I would have never thought that was a possibility! the 6th cant come soon enough!

So yeah, sorry about my rant, im just really excited and wanted to share that with someone... i doubt anyone will read it =P

I know how you feel, axlrose, I was sure I was never going to see X when they postponed the world tour, and I've been worried they wouldn't come ever since they announced the Lollapalooza concert, but after watching their latest lives I've become REALLY excited again. I'm going to the NYC show, but have fun, I'll be cheering for you guys.

Take care of yourself, bahbah, and have an awesome time! I hope everything works out well. Try not to let people push you around too much during the concert.

I'm going to the Riviera. It's general admission - standing only on the floor, seats in the balcony. (But you can't reserve any seats.)

Now I need help - my tickets are at Will Call. Do I have to stand in that big-assed line of people who HAVE their tickets in hand, or is there a separate line for Will Call people? Anyone know?

Hello, hello! Hizashiburii desu neeee

Peeps, T H E Y ' R E   A  L  M  O  S  T    H  E  R  E .

*bounces off the walls*

Axl, welcome, thank you for sharing! I had the same questions about the seating. All I can say is that, according to reviews about the Riv Theatre, you should stay away from the drink bar. The ppl there chat loudly and get noisy.... or so the reviews say. I hope you enjoy the concert, we'll all be there rockin' with you!

I really wish I could camp out, but these old bones haven't taken to the Chicago cold very well. And...I have a tiny bladder. *sheepish grin* I'm really worried about nearby restrooms...even a port-a-potty would be fine. It seems that the weather will be nicer on Wed, though.

Bahbah, didn't the Riv staff give you a place in the special section? I think it's a tiny area off to the side of the stage... it looks like you'd have a great view from there, without all the shoving and hungry fans. Is there anyone here who's already been to the Riv and knows the floor plan?

Ann, I won't promise anything... The band might receive a nibble or two...if I can get close enough. ^_~

This will be my very first concert with X. It's a dream come true, and somewhat bittersweet. My best friend, and HUGE X fan has *just* come back from Japan, a vacation she planned a year ago. Now she's flat broke and couldn't fly to Chicago with me. I'll be on my own for this concert, but I know X Japan's music will join us all together!
(boy, am I cheesy ^^U)

Valkyrie, I'm a little worried about that too, I have an e-ticket... what if they tell me it's no good??? nononono... I don't think there'll be different lines... there weren't any VIP tix for this show that I know of. Are you coming alone? I guess you can get in the long-ass line and, as the day progresses, ask later on at the ticket booth what's up with your ticket. They might send you back to the end of the line... but I'm sure some nice peep can save your spot for when you get back.

Anyways, if I can do anything to help, I think I'll be getting in line about 11 am...sooo, that'll place me 6 blocks away from the Riv? heh
If anyone wants to chat, play cards, draw while waiting in line...I'd appreciate the company! Ask for Chio, and...I guess I pretty much look like Toshi when I wear my sunglasses...((@_@))...accidental cosplay. *lol*

One more day everyone! Please MAKE SOME NOOIISE!!!!

Chio, Thank you

I called Riv. yesterday. It was machine answer. I would like to camp over there but my husband disagree. He said just get in the line in the morning.

I don't mind to getting hurt in the front row, just can stand in the front row, that 's my dream ^_^.

Yeah, I called the Riv too, I would love to find out how to speak to a human being to answer my question. The recording said that Will Call opens an hour before the show, so maybe I'll have my husband save my place in the BIG line, while I stand in the will call line, and we'll see who gets in first.

I last went to the Riv about 10 years ago, but not much has changed. To those who are from out of town - the neighborhood isn't the greatest. Bring friends or get to know the folks around you in line.

Also, don't park in a lot unless it's commercially owned. Once I parked in a fenced-in vacant lot with only some people taking money at the gate (no signs posted, no security, nothing) After the concert, EVERYBODY who was parked there was towed.

Otherwise, let's get ready to party HARD. I'll be the big blond chick screaming in Japanese with my Korean husband.

I saw a setlist for the other cities - Jade is the show opener, and I.V. and Born to be Free are in there. They've also played Drain, which is puzzling to me. Maybe because it's all in English? I'd rather have Blue Blood.

I disliked Jade but it's starting to grow on me - maybe its flaws are byoo-ti-fullll. I wish the "LIIIIIIKE JAAAAAADE" energy at the end of the song came in a little earlier. But that's me - I've never been a fan of X's ballads.
Title: Re: X Japan World Tour @ Riviera Theatre, Chicago, IL - October 6th
Post by: Chio on October 06, 2010, 04:56:15 AM

*something something IN THE OCEAAAAN!!! something something LIKE THE JAAAAAAAAAAAAADE*

I can't learn song lyrics for my life.

I really wanted Rose of Pain! From what I've heard, Yoshiki doesn't participate in Drain. He probably needs the break... doctor's orders...? We're getting Rusty Nail and Kurenai, me so happyyyy, and I'm a sucker for power ballads. <3

My complaints are mainly the organization for this venue... no VIP tix, no seating, no numbered tix for the pit, etix and the riv never answered mails nor phone calls...

Other than that, I'm just thankful I'm finally getting the chance to see X JAPAN LIVE. I'll take any song they want to play! They could play Disney songs and I'd still RRROCK and scream and writher and wriggle till the last note note.

Well, good  night all! See you tomorrow in line!

My friend and I walked around to every Chicago hotel today and yesterday (our school had no school yesterday) but we couldn't find any fans. Like, when they were playing in Lollapalooza there were tons of fans outside the Ritz Carlton Hotel.  There's a HUGE Asian population at my school but I know only one person going. I wanted to but I had the ACT the next day. T_T I would've only gotten like three hours of sleep. Plus the Riv is in a very bad neighborhood so my mom would've flipped out. XP

And I felt like something was going to happen to Yoshiki sooner or later. He doesn't really seem to take care of himself, plus from here on out the concert schedule is like, day after day. As much as I hate to say it, I don't know how well that show in Canada is gonna go tomorrow.

Just got home from the show. It was glorious, though maybe it was 1000 people at best (balcony section wan't even occupied). We got pretty close, I would say 3 people away from the stage, off to the right railing. Opened with Jade, ran through the old saws like Rusty Nail, Drain, and ended a truncated version of Art of Life that featured Yoshiki showboating on the piano for the first 7 minutes. Yoshiki crowd surfed during the last song, twice. But the highlight of the evening was me grabbing Yoshiki's tossed water bottle! Lucky!

And congrats on the water bottle! What an awesome souvenir.

Sounds like there a "new" solo, at least not the hide one played in playback

Btw, anyone got the english lyrics for Rusty Nail?

That new solo is horrible, most of the time is sounds like his "wah wah wah" type solo, there's only a couple of moments where it slightly resembles the original solo.

I really hope that this is only because they're recording this show for dvd release and Sugizo didn't have time to learn the real solo so he had to play that crap instead.

so I try my best to took photos.I learned many mistake from my trip,I need to prepare more.

They sold T-shirt and $30, wrist band  $10, Jacket $60.

In Chicago, no pro cam, no flash, no glow stick.

I am so sorry for did not report.

Sugizo didn't have time to learn the real solo so he had to play that crap instead.

Do you really think that after all the time being in X Japan, he didn't learn it, or was asked too (in order of playing it live when theyll stop using hide track, if they do so oneday) ?
Sound impossible for me that he just do not know it

I think the playbacks are being used because Yoshiki is hide's widow. "Oh my life will never be the same without him".
But as he never played, and from one concert to another, like, 2 days, he started to play. Seems like improvised to me.

But it's a huge move forward. Listen to Jade on Tokyo Dome 2009 and Jade today. Really improved. I think he can improve a lot. Sugizo is a great guitarist. He can play perfectly other solos harder than Rusty Nail (Silent Jealousy, ex.). I think is just about time.

My hope to see a 100% live concert is returning again.

Well if he does already know how to play it, that means he's trying to 'Sugify' the already made/popular guitar solos, which is not what we expect or want from him, we want X japan, to remain with the sound of X Japan, I can understand the new songs sounding different, and being influenced by Sugizo's sound, but he should leave the old solos well alone and just play them like they are on the studio versions, while adding slight differences every live, like all guitarists do. If he's now trying to make all the old songs/solos sound like his unique playing style this is very bad news. He played the Silent Jealousy solo perfectly, just play them like that, don't change the sound.

Sorry to hear the crowd was so small, and no glow sticks? WTF is up with THAT!? Glad to hear Yoshiki felt safe enough to crowd surf though.

Not keen on the new Rusty Nail solo yet, but as it grows with Sugizo and the band, it might grow on me. And Toshi's voice on Silent Jealousy was amazing. So happy to hear the crowd singing from the beginning of the concert through.

@darthchilli: If the thread for Massey Hall Thread in Toronto tonight is any indication, they are going to fill the hall with X Freaks alone. lol

I agree with you but maybe he was asked to do so. I clearly prefer him to play the solo we all know and love instead of this version

But there's freaking out when they use hide playback rather than allowing Sugizo to play? I don't really understand that logic whatsoever-- he plays it his way or he doesn't play it. The way it was originally played was hide's way, not Sugizo's way. Thinking that it's going to sound the same is just silly.

I agree, it's time to move on.  Sugizo is a great guitarist, I trust him. The same goes for Heath. It's bugging me to hear which one is better... They're all great and they each has their own style and I prefer to hear how they do it their own :)

It seems X fans can never be pleased....XD
There's hide playback? People whine Sugizo should play since it's a live concert...
Sugizo plays? People whine that he changed the way the solo sounds.
If he had actually played it the exact way hide did....there would people whining that he's just a copycat and doesn't add anything new to the band.

Very thrue  :D
X fans are hard to be pleased!!!
But I must say that I too, I hope Sugizo will play this solo from Rusty Nail more beautiful with the time! I can not say that it is my prefered Sugizo guitarversion!!!
(I am that much X-ed those days with all those concerts, that I logged in with X freaks instead of my name LOL And I didn't understand why I couldn't log in!!!)

I think it's futile to go "wahh wahh, that's not how it sounded in the album!!"

Have you heard hide performing Blue Blood's solo on the very first tours? Boy, it was wasn't exactly what we're used to either. Remember Sugizo's Silent Jealousy solo at Tokyo Dome 2008? It was far from perfect, but it's perfect now.

There could be many reasons why Sugizo played it this way. Maybe he hasn't fully learned it, maybe there was a problem with the playback and he had to improvise it from ear, maybe he was trying to do something original, or wanted to try a different way, and most important of all, it was THE FIRST TIME that he attempted it.

I liked it, I enjoyed Rusty Nail more than with hide playbacks, and I'm excited to think what he could do in future concerts with Rusty Nail. It was awesome because even if it didn't sound 100% like it has sounded for 2 years now with no change, I could actually get feelings from the solo now.

Move forward and don't look back.

Thank you , I think, they checked weapon or something can harm, I don't know.

I saw some girl who had chain on her pants, they stopped her,I didn't look back

Did they take it off? I don't know.

My husband must answer about my medicine too, it too much XD

Some medicine from Thailand ,but my husband answered fast ^_^ everything was fine.

After the first door for get in, we must waited again at second door so I took off my shoes,

when the door opened I ran and got second row but I'm too short so I changed my mind.

I went to the stairs in the middle.

I understand now why some XJapan fans followed their concert everywhere, I felt the same.

I want to go to New York so bad T_T

Ps.sorry for my grammar

They separated the line mainly for purse searches for the women, patdowns for the guys.

bahbah, glad to hear you had a good time. Were you behind the rail? We were all the way on the right, next to the speakers (and my head's still ringing). I started drinking while in line outside so I was goosed even through that Vampire opening act. I danced, fist-pumped and partied HARD. We may not have had vast numbers, but I wanted X to know how goddamn grateful I was to see them in Chicago.

During Sugizo's guitar solo, he snuck in a snippet of "Providence" from his Luna Sea days, which tickled me. See, I always liked Sugizo so when I heard he was joining X Japan, I was ecstatic. Hide kicked ass, but now he's gone, so lets move along and create more memories.

@bahbah: The sound isn't that bad in the solo, just a little tinny. You could still hear evey beat. Good to see this tour's drum solos are more manageabley short than previous tours.

The Sound: Seems it is the same complaint from Vancouver on. I wrote in depth about the crappy sound here: http://jrockrevolution.com/index.php/webzine/feature-articles/1606-x-japan-live-report-vancouver-bc.html (http://jrockrevolution.com/index.php/webzine/feature-articles/1606-x-japan-live-report-vancouver-bc.html) and posted on the Vancouver thread. It really did suck on the lower floor, but I never wandered up audience or to the balcony to see whether it was different. Could have used VE to check on that.

Haha, I am the girl with chains on her pants, and the one standing behind you in your second to last picture.  :)
I didn't have to take the chains off, they just made me shove them into my pocket.  I did think the ticket situation was ridiculous, however.  I had my ticket from JRR waiting at Will Call, however it wasn't there and they didn't help me.  I was told to move from the line.  I was starting to panic so I basically asked everyone who looked like theater staff where my ticket was until I found a lady who had the guest list.  So my 10 hour wait in line was sort of wasted, lol.

All in all, it was still a dream come true and I had an amazing time.  I kind of hate myself for not eating more during the day, however, because I had to leave my third row spot and sit against the wall because I started to feel sick.  But the boys put on a hell of a show and I will remember it forever and ever and ever.  <3

@ Valkyrie
Were you the guy who was talking about already being wasted and snorting your body weight in cocaine while waiting for the doors to open?  If so, I was squished against you, lol.

Oh My God. I cant believe the show it topped even my trip to canada last year to see Guns N' Roses! I've seen a lot of bands from Rush to Aerosmith to The Who and a lot in between lol. I knew X was going to be special but to top my favorite, Guns N Roses... hehe.
Anyways Ill share my experience =P
My girlfriend picked me up from college in Michigan in the morning and we started our journey to Chicago. I was soooo freaking excited. She forgot the ipod cord so we couldnt listen to X on the way (made it more awesome once the show started hehe) After about 4-5 hours we could finally see the skyline and we drove to Evanston to visit my friend William, which was awesome since I never get to see him. We ate dinner at a thai place then dropped him off. Then luckily, it was only 7 miles to the Riviera.
We got to the Riviera at 7:30 on the dot and found parking right across the street. It was so epic seeing a line of people trying to get in and seeing the sign say TONIGHT: X JAPAN! It was awesome and my first time seeing other X fans in person.
We got into the theater it was pretty packed and the theater had an old, but awesome haunting and run down feel to it. We made it to the floor and stood in the back surprised with how good our view was and i was happy to hear VE say, this is our last song! (I only endured 3 minutes of their crap yay) They went off stage and the epic wait began.
I really loved how they played X songs on the speakers, they did a symphonic "Without You" and then a symphonic "Forever Love" and they had a really cool sound to them (throughout the show I thought all the symphonic playback had just an epic vibe) We all shouted chants like "X" and "hide" etc and finally, the lights went down. The intro music was beyond epic. My arms were killing cause i kept them up doing the X sign the whole time! I saw the band for the first time hidden on the side and freaked, then finally Yoshiki came out and stood on the drums looking at us. Then the band came out.

1. Jade
Jade is my favorite of the new songs and let me tell you, this was so freaking cool live. The band and Toshi sounded amazing and were right in front of us, as my gf and I made our way to the very front. Heath's bass was pounding with Yoshiki's drums and Toshi sounded awesome. Sugizo and Pata joined in on the verses with the power chords. Then the chorus came and EVERYONE sang and put their hands in the air. It was just so great. I was FREAKING OUT!

2. Rusty Nail
The classic intro to Rust Nail came on and EVERYONE exploded. The song sounded great, just like the studio version but mixed with that awesome live feeling. The middle portion came and had everyone singing then i braced for the hide playback still excited. Then, I noticed something completely different, SUGIZO was playing the solo! There was a bit of sound issues which might be why it sounded different but once he hit the wah, it was fine. I personally thought it was totally awesome he was doing the solo and especially for the first time. So all in all, it was excellent.

3. Silent Jelousy
A total classic, and so far the oldest song in the setlist. I love the piano intro and Yoshiki did a little solo before he started the intro. Toshi then did the solo singing part and NAILED it. He went really high and his voice didnt crack a bit. The heavy part hit in and everyone again when nuts. The energy of the crowd so far was just unlike anything ive seen before. The solo was excellent and Pata and Sugizo harmonized it perfectly.

4. Drain
I DO actually really like the song, so I have no complaints about it being in the setlist. It was dont only with Pata, Yoshiki, and Heath with a backing track. The sound was a little off overall with Heath's bass making a lot of feed back. Toshi sounded good but i think he noticed the sound was off too. Overall I thought it was awesome though and it was great to hear Drain live. Although it was my least favorite song of the night (still loved it) my gf said it was her favorite so far haha.

5. Violin+ Piano Solos and Kurenai
Im personally glad they do the violin and piano interlude. Its  REALLY beautiful and Sugizo's violin sounds downright epic. He played a bit of the godfather theme which reminded me of slash hehe and the star spangled banner. Yoshiki then joined in and they BURST into Kurenai. Just a blast of energy from the crowd and the band. The solo was really awesome and then Toshi had the audience sing the chorus a few times. I missed seeing hide and hearing his part but still, one of my favorites of the night!

6. Born to Be Free
I think this song is just awesome. Jade is still my favorite of the new songs but i really like BTBF and IV. BTBF has a great chorus, everyone was nuts and the wing design on the screen was cool. The coolest part of the song was the slow chorus after the breakdown and solo. This time Yoshiki did the awesome sweep part on the piano and also just played the chords. So I heard both ways, i loved it.

7. Drum Solo
It was cool seeing Yoshiki doing a little solo. He was more into just having fun then showing off his skills but it was cool. He kept pounding both bass drums and going nuts over it.

8. I.V.
It started with Yoshiki on piano and Toshi having everyone sing the chorus. It was really persnal and I was glad to see Toshi involved with us. He grabbed a camera man's camera and started filming everyone. I was right up front so I was on the camera a lot. The song then actually started and Toshi's mic cut out a bit but thats more than ok. Sugizo again came right up by me which was really awesome, he looks SO COOL! His guitar was a bit too loud for the slow part but it didnt hinder the song.

9. X
Let me just say I have NEVER experienced what I went through during X. EVERYONE went fucking NUTS. I was so happy to actually be apart of the X jump. The whole place shook. The solo was awesome, and Pata was RIGHT BY ME, then like there was the break thing. It took my by surprise... YOSHIKI JUMPED RIGHT ON TOP OF ME!! My gf and I were holding him up and the floor became like quicksand. EVERYONE rushed towards us. It was kind of scary and I had to push people back to protect my gf. But it was so awesome. Security had to drag Yoshiki out as people were trying to drag him back into the crowd. They finished the song and then again I was taken by surprise... HE JUMPED INTO US AGAIN. This time i grabbed my girlfriend out of the way haha cause i think she was already pwned the first time and I already held Yoshiki up once. It was really cool.

BREAK
Everyone was doing chants and shouting for hide and Yoshiki and finally Yoshiki came out. Toshi came out and asked if we wanted to hear Yoskiki, and Yoshiki did his whole rant about pizza and America hehe. The best part was when he finally talked about hide =) It was good to hear everyone finally cheer for hide.

10. Endless Rain
THE X Japan song. Great how the whole band sits for it as Yoshiki pounds away on the piano. It was REALLY emotional. The arrangment was different and they got rid of the piano solo and had the guitar solo earlier which was my favorite of the night. Especially with Sugizo playing with Pata. The part where only WE sang the chorus was simply magical. I was so happy to be apart of it.

11. ART OF LIFE
I never, ever, ever thought Id get to hear this song. The version theyre doing this tour is just beautiful. It was a moment I will never forget. It started with Sugizo doing a violin solo then he left the stage and the back track to the piano solo could be heard. It was haunting hearing it with no band. Then finally, Yoshiki came on and delivered some of the best 8 minutes of piano I have ever heard. I could feel his passion. The orchestra cut in and slowely got louder as Yoshiki battled with his inner demons. The orchestra then overpowered the piano and the final note held. The band then just exploded with energy and played the grand finale. Everything about it was perfect; Ive never gone so crazy before. Then before I knew it, Toshi was on the last note. He screamed it with such emotion and it truly was, the best performance I have ever seen.

12. Curtain Call ~ Forever Love
Forever Love immediatly followed on the loudspeakers. It was a really good acoustic, symphonic version. The band said their goodbyes, threw the water bottles and took pictures of us. Then, they were gone, completing one of the best nights of my life.

Probably meant Toshi because I think Yoshiki and Sugizo use that song to prepare for the violin and piano solos leading up to Kurenai.

Hehe, no problem.  I do that quite often as well.  Usually I will be thinking about both Toshi and Yoshiki and just combine them into Toshiki without realizing.  :P

Here are some video clips that I took from the show.  It was fairly difficult for me to take lengthy videos because of where I was in the crowd.

For anyone who wants to see the insanity of Japanese fans near Yoshiki, here's a clear close up view of him in the middle of the pit during the stage dive.

I don't see any insanity, Yoshiki stage dive in the crowd, all I see it's people who stay calm right near there idol, they help him carefully to go back on stage. I don't see any stupid act from fans ...

Open your eyes Ulquiorra ;)
