i don't think i.v was ever released as a single for radio play. it was just in the movie and soundtrack i believe.

The Other East's report about the event: http://www.theothereast.net/?p=3006

Seems like Yoshiki and Taiji have been talking after all ;)

Some good questions there and a nice little report by Lee.

I prefer western journalists to Japanese ones, as they ask the questions which the people want the answers to, not the mostly-generic-crap which preserves the red tape and secretive hue over famous people that Japanese journalists mainly employ.

For Yoshiki to have answered the question the way he did, it looks like it's going to be more than likely that Taiji will, if not at Yokohama, have a future role with X Japan at some point.

"He mentioned that they weren’t really sure what language to perform in, and actually at this point he asked us for our input. This was a bit unexpected, and the person who initially asked about the language suggested they split time between languages. He seems to be in agreement with that, we’ll see next week what they decide."

Oh for f***'s sake! I was under the naturally obvious assumption that since Yoshiki clearly made the desicion months ago that singing in english was the best and only way to make it in the US considering he made the entire album english, that Toshi would of course sing at the concert in english, DUH.

And now we find you he hasn't even made a desicion, complete disorganisation, and half japanese/half english is still too much japanese, and this concert will utterly fail if that's what he decides. Now I'm very worried about how this concert's going to go. In terms of what language will appeal to the audience I thought he had this in the bag, but he doesn't.

I was looking forward to hearing the old songs completely (or 90%) in english just as they are on the album, this sucks. And it doesn't make any sense to sing half the songs in japanese half in english for a US audience who just want to hear english and then after the concert give them a full english album. Just sing the songs as they are on the new album, seriously its like the most obvious desicion to make ever.

I'll probably get people saying I'm overeacting/being to harsh on Yoshiki/let him do what he wants ect. but this is a a major thing and a majorly dumb desicion, and any desicion on what language to sing at the concert should've been decided way before this.

Later in the night I saw Yoshiki not 100 yards from the con’s main door, eating dinner outside with…someone. You’ll just have to guess who it was ~_^

I'm not sure.. Taiji or Toshi?

Ulquiorra, I really hope for Japanese in their songs!!! Why Americain people can't or wouldn't enjoy other languages? I don't even understand one word in Japanese, and I like so much the Japanese in their music sung by ToshI!!! I think some songs will be entirely in English and some will be a mix of Japanese and English.

I'll problably still prefer the songs in Japanese as well, but I'm mostly talking about what'll make X go down well at the concert, also I would like to hear what full english versions sound like, even if I still like the originals more.

lol WTF!?! Apparently this is the room that Yoshiki&Sugizo are playing in

That's practically a friggin concert hall, I thought this was an ordinary con event with small rooms where a few hundred people would stand and watch, especially since its just Yoshiki & Sugizo.

Otakon is one of the biggest Japanese culture conventions in the world(it was previously an anime convention, but its moved past just being that). Over 20,000 people attend every year. Previously L'arc~en~ciel and TM Revolution played this same venue at Otakon.  It's the 1st Mariner Arena, and it seats 13,650 for concerts. It was pretty jammed, but the upper decks weren't open so there was probably somewhere in the 5,000 range there.

The Japanese press are starting to really piss me off.

They publish so much 'officially released' information from artists or their management which, more often than not, are fabricated to preserve the image, status or respect.

The fiddled attendance figures that X Japan's management are giving to the Japanese press are starting to become more and more tiresome to read from a western perspective, especially given that the Japanese public are going to take it as gospel.

First video (mobile phone/camera recording) from the mini concert, the first half of the video is taken up by fans dancing, but go to 1:45 video for a section of the endless rain performance, Sugizo's violin is awesome.

And the last part of Forever Love:

The video is missapropriatly titled 'X Japan' otakon 2010, when its actually just Yoshiki & Sugizo performing acoustic songs.
