Merchandise / Re: X JAPAN THE LAST LIVE Complete Edition
« on: October 26, 2011, 10:19:28 PM »
I'm wondering why they are not releasing the last live on blu-ray. Is blu-ray not that popular in Japan?
I'm pretty sure it's more popular in Japan than the rest of the world. I'm assuming it was shot with high resolution film like 35mm or at least 16mm, seeing as they have video of hide from the show that they show on the big screens at their recent concerts. But either way, the sound would benefit quite a bit as well.

I haven't been here a while, I just heard the news. And he was only 45, it's a damn shame.

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki's new XM radio show, "Yoshiki Radio"

You know, the fact that Howard Stern spent a whole 8 minutes talking about X Japan just goes to show that Yoshiki Radio ended up being a pretty good idea after all. He's showing maybe a little bit of ignorance there, but it's kind of funny.

That's pretty awesome, although it's too bad I have so much on my iPod that there's almost no need to pay for XM. But I am interested to know what music he likes, so I hope someone will be kind enough to post the playlist.

I guess I'll download this, as I've got an iTunes card from 2 Christmases ago that I haven't used yet, except for I.V.

But keep in mind that this album was supposed to come out in summer of 2009. I'm sure as hell not going to get my hopes up for August. And also, I can't beleive it, but it's been over a year since the PV shooting in LA and we still haven't seen anything completed. That is some insane procrastination.

Hah, that's so cool. Going to Japan someday just isn't good enough; I want to go now. I'm totally buying the Blu-Rays though, so at least I can settle for that rather than Youtube videos.

I just found this completely at random, has anyone heard about it?

I don't generally like the idea of re-recording and with the re-recorded songs on Period I preferred the original versions (possibly due to the down-sized drum set Shinya was using as the time) but what the hell, I'll pick it up anyway.

Okay, I get it now. I thought this was supposed to be some sort of single compilation, but got confused as hell because of every track having two songs.

Not like I'm trying to sound like I'm high or anything, but I am so confused right now. Maybe I'm just too tired at the moment.

If it's region free, it's bootlegged.
Well shit. Now I'm really hoping for some blu-ray releases, since even if they're region-locked it won't matter because of Asia and North America both being region A.

I got The Last Live with Art of Life Live together for around $40 a few months ago. They look pretty official, but now I'm a little concerned. Are they supposed to be region-free? I mean, if the official releases are region-locked that would be bullshit.

Albums/Singles / Re: X Japan New Album (What?)
« on: October 21, 2010, 10:39:29 PM »
Wait a minute if it REALLY is half new and have old songs....

Old:
1. Rusty Nail
2. Kurenai
3. X
4. Endless Rain

New:
1. Jade
2. Born To Be Free
3. I.V.
4. Without You?

....There's no way Art of Life is going to fit, even if it's the radio version..

A 2-disc album is not out of the question, though. But still, why re-release Art of Life when it's already completely English and has a radio edit version? It's best to just release the album with the tracks you listed (plus Silent Jealousy and Tears) and then give all their previous albums US releases.

I really hope they'll do the Twin Cities this time, but they wont (bastards). I just hope I have a full-time job by then.

What do you mean by Yoshiki completely cutting his hair? Did he shave it all off once or are you referring to when he cut most of it off?

Albums/Singles / Re: X's worst song
« on: August 20, 2010, 07:17:57 AM »
I find myself always skipping over Xclamation...I'll not skip over Easy Fight Rambling maybe half the time. White Poem is rather pointless. And although I love the rest of the song, I hate the piano solo in Art of Life. I know the point of it and that, but it overstays its welcome, especially on the live version.

Albums/Singles / Re: How would you like your World Tour DVDs?
« on: August 20, 2010, 07:13:33 AM »
Come on, Blu-Ray is already a success and it's here to stay. In addition to having a concert on just one disc rater than 2 or 3, we get HD video (don't know for sure if the recent shows were shot in HD, I'd assume they were) and lossless or uncompressed sound. However, I did hear Luna Sea's One Night Dejavu was poorly done. Either way, no one loses out because there wouldn't be Blu-Ray versions without DVD versions.

To answer the question of the thread, I don't think releasing 80-90% of the shows on video is necessary, but I'll buy whatever comes out.

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: X Japan US Tour
« on: August 17, 2010, 01:47:57 AM »
FUCK! I've been without a job for five months, and I don't know if they'll ever do a US tour again. I'm sure they'll make profit off this, but they reality is they would get more money if they just did 7 days at Tokyo Dome in that time instead. I already went pretty far into my funds going to Chicago last month to see Iron Maiden. I like them slightly more than X, but I wish I used that money to see X instead. Oh well, I'll just have to travel to Japan some day.

25
If I hear Jade on a local rock station, I will shit my pants. We'll just have to see how many stations will actually play it.

26
Holy shit, this show is so epic. Like, comparable to Star Wars.

I was just dying in anticipation, but the dates still haven't been announced. I'm praying for a Minneapolis/St. Paul show, but I'll most likely be let down. LA and New York have basically been confirmed, and I'm sure Dallas will get a show, but beyond that we'll just have to hope for the best.

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: THE Lollapalooza Thread!
« on: August 09, 2010, 03:12:45 AM »
Wow, such ignorance.

Yeah, god forbid someone has an opinion.

I can typically respect others opinions, but to go on and say they sound like they haven't evolved since 1982 and are comparable in any way to Motley Crue, that's just not even true. "X Japan" could be taken out of that text and replaced with "Green Day" or "Lady Gaga" and the article would be every bit as accurate.

I wouldn't be surprised if he saw a picture of them from the late 80s and planned out the entire review before the show even went on.
