It was nice for the most part, I gotta say. This was my 12th time watching it altogether (4th time watching it in a public setting) & I still had that feeling of amazement like I did the first time watching it. Cried a bit as usual during the depressing segments.
After the show was awful though. My friend got pissed off because she wanted a picture with Yoshiki & blamed me for not giving her the mic during my turn in the Q&A when the MC let me have the last question & I had asked for his autograph on the back of a special picture I had of my Mom (who passed away around 10 years ago as of last month. Same circumstances as Yoshiki's Dad & I have only two pictures of her in my possession, so it was important to me).

I got video of the Q&A, please pardon the bad quality. Idk if it was the bad lighting or my phone.

For once, the MC had really good questions for Yoshiki. I was pretty satisfied with the questions, but not with Yoshiki's answers.
In short, Yoshiki says that the album is "almost done, for reals this time" (my words, but you get what I mean). Yoshiki said & I quote that it's "99% done. The only thing left to do is the mixing." No confirmation on the release & no word of another world tour until maybe after the second Coachella show.

In short, nothing new. Did any of you guys catch the NicoNico broadcast?

Yep! I'm going today with a friend of mine. I'm gonna try to take pics & maybe a vid of the Q&A.

(Oh thank gah, the board is back.)

I know I was gonna say my piece on the show, but my thoughts are pretty much like everyone else's. Technical crap made things bleah, most of the crowd was fish eyed & bleah, poor ToshI & his stage fright (no, srsly, poor ToshI), etc.

thank you so much! I've listened to

How impressive is it when someone stands on stage and makes the electronic music "live" and sings it in such a beautiful way...

Do you have a link to her first album? Maybe Amazon or so? I've preordered her second album https://www.amazon.de/Elohim/dp/B07B5WCXT6/

Over here on her website ~ https://elohimstore.com/collections/music/products/elohim-cd

Told ya she was legit~ (0 w <)

**Note: I'll give my thoughts on the show a little on. I kinda need a bit to process it.

I'm ready!

BTW, has anyone noticed that the time changed for X Japan's set on the official Coachella?? Yoshiki keeps saying that it's 11 or so, but the 3rd channel says 12:05 AM (midnight basically).

Coachella 3rd channel (check the tab for the set times & you'll see it too)

Where would you have the discord group?

"Where"? On the app (?) Discord also has a phone app too, if that's an issue

Sooooo did we decide on a place to chat or what? I don't mind starting a discord group just for this/these Coachella shows.

(btw. who is this girl in her bra on the stage? besides he is half naked her music is really good)

Lol the girl in all white (in the bra) is elohim & she is so legit. Her 2nd album is being released next week too (I'm actually gonna go see her that Friday for her concert in L.A.). Give her a listen when you get a chance

The X Japan part of the stream will be on this part of channel

(I'm still super salty that I couldn't go. I heard that one of my favorite artists was totally killing it on Friday! Everybody better bring their A game today, that's all I'm saying.)

EDIT: Yoshiki confirmed on Instagram that they'll be playing at 11:10 PM (Good. I just saw SUGIZO post earlier in the hour that he just touched down in Cali & is now heading to desert territory.)

Toshi / Re: Toshi's Remarkable Voice
« on: March 22, 2018, 06:30:31 AM »
Ooh, this is pretty interesting. I recently bought a VOCALOID program & I was thinking about covering an O.G. ToshI song before I start making my own songs. I was wondering if anyone knows of a complete list of ToshI's vocal range (like, what range does he start on in "Amaoto". Stuff like that)

Ohhhh. . . So that's what those Kanji/Hiragana characters translated to. I was wondering about that. Ryugentoshi, huh? Sounds pretty neat.

Before registration on this forum was possible again, I've already been reading here for months and liked the fact that criticism, sarcasm or even just expressing frustration towards X was fine here (back then, I was on Xwonderland, which was just boringly and annoyingly supportive and uncritical).

Ehhh. . . I never really got into Xwonderland (only went there for jacking links for downloads, huehuehuehue), but from what I could tell, yeah, it looked like a huge circle jerk in a echo room. Redundant description, but whatever, you know what I mean. But point being, yeah, I do appreciate that we all can be honest with each other in one way or another. I'd rather have a civil debate here than on Twitter or wherever else the Nurses & hardcore Yoshiki stans reside.

Negative remarks about other board members without context or off topic, on the other hand, are bound to lead to lengthy, mostly pointless discussions, probably on online forums in general.
And although I'm sometimes bored enough to read them, like now, I could certainly do without them, and think most people could.

Honestly, not to sound like a huge jerk, but I enjoy reading the arguments that get thrown around here on occasion. It helps pass the time, lol.

(I'll miss ya if or when you go StarWarsArtist. Your insight & fairly objective way of looking at the current situation on X Japan has always been a good read.)

Two years ago already? Wowee! Where has the time gone?

Best song is. . . uhhh, the one that literally no one likes. (˵¯͒〰¯͒˵)

As for the tour. obligatory six shows in Japan, two or three in Europe & like, maybe five in the U.S.A.

Also: Shitposting on X-freaks? Never thought I'd see the day, haw.

16
TBH, I had heard about this on Twitter or somewhere, but somehow IDGAF.

No L.A. show, no care. ¯\_(≖ ︿ ≖ ✿)_/¯

Toshi / Re: Toshi's new song 'Masquerade' (2018 January)

This feels very reminiscent. Like it's something similar from his "Aoi Hoshi no Tabibito" album, but I can't quite put my finger on it. With that being said, it sounds nice so far, but without fully listening to it, I can't really give a proper opinion on it.

Damn. . . Can this be meme worthy??

General chat / Re: X JAPAN to perform at Coachella?
« on: January 10, 2018, 02:54:42 AM »
Hisashiburi ne? Hope everyone's new year went well (can't say mine did lol) Anyways. . . on about the Coachella controversy & my thoughts.

First and foremost, HOLY SHIT THEY'RE DOING A SHOW HERE IN CALIFORNIA! It's been too long, waaaay too fucking long for a show here in the States, so I'm happy about that. However, I'm gonna be honest, I'm keeping some cautious optimism here with this announcement. I do think that if they're gonna do something this year (fer really reals dis tiem gaiz!!), this is the way to fucking do it.

Coachella is one of the biggest/most popular/most mainstream of the music festivals around these parts & if one is looking to break out into the mainstream or doing comebacks, this is the place to do it.

Oh, and by the way: Just because Coachella is normie central now, doesn't mean that X Japan can't get new fans, won't be welcomed or isn't a fit musically in Coachella, is seriously being a bit of a debbie downer. Coachella welcomes all music styles, genres & people, they've had rock acts there before. X Japan ain't breaking in on sacred grounds through sacrilegious means on that front. And about the people? Fuck it. Let nature take it's course. If he/she doesn't like X Japan & wants to bitch about them as people or musically? Fine, shitty opinion noted. Moving on.

Shit, if I had the money to burn on the presale for the first weekend, you bet your ass that I'd be down in Coachella with my flower crown in that X Japan pit.

Sugizo / Re: Sugizo ft. Toshi - Phoenix (new song)
« on: December 01, 2017, 08:00:52 PM »
Hoo! That video for "VOICE" (from what I've watched) is good~

25
Acoustic would be great but would they draw the crowds with an all acoustic show, versus a regular or electric show or original show?  I'm afraid they wouldn't draw near the crowd with acoustic and that would be a problem, more than one way.

Mmm, I think that the hardcore fans will go no matter what. To them, X Japan is still X Japan, acoustic or not.

Also, what problems do you speak of? (Not being mean or anything, I genuinely don't understand what the potential issue might be.)

26
I think they should go acoustic like they did last year (or the year before that. I don't remember when was the last time they performed on Kohaku Gassen-Uta). I think it's better to be safe than sorry in Yoshiki's case.

That's an unusual warning if I ever saw one but TWO? To two separate pages? I wonder who is responsible for putting that up on the web like that, hmmmm?

It's nothing sinister, I assure you. It just that person's Tumblr blog no longer exists.

Quote from: matsumoto
that one time Yoshiki cancelled a show and filmed a naked apology to his fans. Except it genuinely looks like a low-budget porn clip with a flat-chested actress

I didn't believe it until I watched it & oh my gaaaaah~! Old school Yoshiki looks so handsome! He's got that balance of androgyny that I love.

Am I the onry one here who roves Toshi's Engrish?

Nope. ToshI's Engrish is rather cute in the early days & was somewhat understandable too (huge plus for me).
