There are hundreds of these floating around, so maybe it would be best to make one place for them - this topic serves that purpose. No fantasies please, try and keep to reality XD

I will go first:

Fun Fact 1#: When Spread Beaver came to America to work on "Ja Zoo" the American airport staff became uneasy and had several of the bands cases searched because of the "Spread Beaver" stickers which covered them. Suspecting that the members were smuggling Pornography into America an embarressing situation ensued...

Fun Fact 2#: When recording the video for "Electric Cucumber" the band members of Zilch and the photography crew played a trick on the bassist Paul Raven. Raven had a pair of golden fangs made for the video which he left on the table in his dressing room, guitarist Ray Macveigh put the fangs between his ass cheeks and then put them back on the table, waiting for the unsuspecting Raven to put them on. When he did, the band asked him "Do they taste good, Raven?" :shock:

Fun Fact 3#: Hide used to regularly call up numerous people in his phone book to come on drinking trips with him. These occasions were so notorious people used to be prepared for his calls, and hide would never let people say "no". Even if they had work or other duties hide would persist in bugging them until they arrived. When they did arrive, hide would not let them leave. He would go as far as to hide their coats and shoes as to stop them going home, he could not understand why people didn't want to stay out and drink all night like he did, Pata was one of the few people who shared this idea. When hide went into the studio to work with X Japan or for his solo career the phone calls would stop as hide liked to be solitary when it came to work.

Fun Fact 4#: When fan speculation that hide was married began to draw attention he addressed the fans by saying that he was not married, and if he were to tie the knot he thinks he should record it for the shock/horror effect like Marilyn Manson did.

Ahh, another day, another fun fact I think!

Fun Fact 5#: When hide got drunk he would often turn extremely violent. One night while staying at a hotel Taiji heard an extremely loud disturbance going on downstairs. Assuming it was the Yakuza, due to the scale of the disturbance, he stayed in the same place. As the noise persisted longer than anticipated he decided to take a look for himself and found that there was no gang of Yakuza, only a very drunk hide raising his fists to the hotel staff. Taiji thought hide was going to punch them, but instead he stuck is fingers up their noses and swore at them. Eventually Taiji managed to restrain him and restore order.

Other interesting stuff I found all over the net:

hide hand painted a lot of his guitars, it was his hobby to paint them.

Although he was not immediately sociable, hide's friends described him as someone who would take time to listen to their problems and inspire them to take leaps in their lives. He was remembered to be a very playful and funny person, someone you couldn't help but love.

hide used to have a dog but he found he had no time to look after it and had to give it away. He also had a hamster named LEMONed but found he had no time for it either and had to give it away too. hide liked all animals except cockroaches.

The baby on the cover of Mugongeki has no mouth because hide believed that dogs and cats and children (before they can talk) were 'cute'. He said that, when children grew up and leanred how to talk, they were no longer cute. As he wanted the cover of Mugongeki to look holy and unspoilt, he gave the child no mouth so, even if it grew up, it was mute and could not remember words. That way, It would always be cute.

hide wore contact lenses because he was short-sighted. The contact lenses were usually tinted yellow - which gave the effect that hide's eyes were golden-brown in colour. In fact, his eyes were really darker.

In 1977, hide graduated from elementary school. In 1980 he graduated from junior high. Both his elementary and junior high schools were in Yokosuka. In 1983, he graduated from a private high school in Zushi. He graduated from Beauty College in 1985 - two years before he joined X.

hide only owned one B.C.Rich Mockingbird guitar. He painted it all over - right up to the neck - so that nobody could tell the make.

hide's 'Ja,Zoo' album is pronounced 'Yah-zoo'

'LEMONed' is pronounced as 'Lemonade'
