I actually had it more down to his breathing mixed with his vocal key, but even then he still mimics toshi really well whether it be the voice, moves, looks and even the singing though its not as well executed.  They pay tribute most certainly.

They are pretty good as a band, it's just a shame that the singer obviously hasnt been taught how to sing properly, he sounds like he is going to collapse half the time.

The new songs have totally grown on me though i probably don't like them as much as the blue blood and jealousy favourites.  I still really am not a fan of the old old x stuff, the pre-hide and pata stuff.  They were okay as a speed metal band but I prefer what they transformed into, they became a band who sounded like they could play anything.

I like dahlia but wasnt really a fan of the tracks which seemed like filler to me, sure i get it's artistic but i happily skip them to listen to great songs like Rusty Nail, scars etc or beautiful ones like Forever Love and Tears.

Whilst browsing the net I came across there guys, a japanese X tribute band.

Silent Jealousy cover:

Countdown/X cover

Interesting bunch, though their appears to be a Taiji and Pata looks more like Heath  :D

Toshi has all the moves, shame his technical singing lets him down.

They also have a myspace page which is in the information about those videos.

enjoy  ;D

I have rockband 2 unsurprisingly now and I must say this song is fun, it was the first song i got my flawless vocals achievement on.  On a x japan rockband related note you should see who i've got as a fill in bassist in my band lol.

X Japan related / Re: Fernandes Burny MG-145S Electric Guitar
« on: April 01, 2009, 01:26:38 PM »
I'm pretty sure that hide's neck was not bolt on, I was just looking at the price on that sale.  I don't mean to insult but I'd hate for a fan to shell out that much money and end up being disappointed.  Just that i've seen bolt on guitars like his sold for less that the asking price.

My first X Japan buy was the X:Singles CD, I bought it when I went shopping in Kyoto for a department store type place.  It's nice to know you brought your first CD in person in Japan.

A question, was hide's actual guitar a bolt on neck? Or is this just the guitar model based on hide's original Burny?

« on: March 24, 2009, 11:55:20 PM »
I'm hoping to gather the money together to go to the festival since I did not go last year, it was great fun in 2007.  I'm gonna be setting a up a camping group on facebook at somepoint so if some peoples are going on their own they could camp with me and my crew.  I know Nage wants to go to download, I'll keep people posted for when the group is up.

News / Re: About Heath's Problem
« on: March 22, 2009, 01:44:13 AM »
That just means that they should really be aiming to play in smaller venues if that is the case, Yoshiki himself expressed surprise at how many people outside of Japan actually liked X Japan.  Madison Square Garden is a big venue and i assume Yoshiki thought they could sell out the venue, otherwise they wouldnt be announcing it.  X-Japan (though not really their fault) shot themselves in the foot by simply aiming and enclosing themselves into the Japanese market, if they made themselves out to want international success I'm sure back in the days with hide they could have made more of a push into the world market.  Though they are an utterly amazing band, they are not big enough internationally to play at certain venues (MSG which in the past has seen sold out shows with bands like Metallica etc).

But it's clear we are drifting slightly of topic here from the whole heath thing, just hope there is gonna be some sort of official press release so the international folks know they don't have to get their hopes up.

I don't deny that they think of the fans still, they are the best in most cases that I know for showing the fans huge ammount of respect, the only times that this is ever questionable is when they keep quiet about stuff that some fans obviously worry about.  To be honest I don't see how delays can be expected in a world tour, Iron Maiden are doing tons of dates on theirs and only cancel when there is something that serious to warrant it and they have been playing at some of the biggest arenas internationally.  Maiden have professional, hardworking management meaning yes it is easy to have a world tour laid out.  Makes you wish the X-Japan would just find a management group that are not a total joke.

We have no idea what bickering is going on behind the scenes, rifts between bands over things like musical direction happen a lot more than people might think.  None of us are experts on the bands inner relationships meaning we can only make asumptions.  Though in this case it's clearly an issue with Heath and the Management with Yoshiki and the other members not finding out about it imediately.  I really am looking forward to seeing them at some point live, they will easily get at least into my top three live performances Ive seen (I am hopeful).

I just hope this stuff all ends with Heath still in the band and the tour can go on without being dragged on into 2010.

Is it not ironic about the Jump, Jump, Jump....Break the F'in Ceiling one?  Since I heard they won't allow the audience to do X Jumps in the Tokyo Dome anymore due to the damage it can cause lol.

People just reminded me how much I don't like Trance X, now I don't mind that kind of music but they managed to butcher most of their songs.  Kurenai is not bad but it made me cringe when I heard the Trance version of "Art of Life", I mean it was cut down (something I was thankful for in the style it was) and its just not something you do to such an amazing song.

What is wrong with things sounding modern? It's not like the only good music is old music, though I do like a good load of old stuff there is still good modern music, you just need to know where to look.  It's not surprising Yoshiki's stuff is the favourites of most members, it's a shame he didn't let the others do more of their own writing for tracks, may have given us a different look at the band's music as a whole.

I seriously don't like how the management are dealing with this, sure the members could give personal updates on what is happening (that is if they are allowed to by the contract),  I still love X but at the same time, it is clear that the band has became more of a buisness more than anything else.  I like to think this is not what hide would have wanted, all this money, bickering and contract talk, it's certainly not how I view X-Japan as a band.  The band having fun, having the undying appretiation of the fans...that's what the old x was all about imo.

It's even worse when the band or the management be incredibly unprofessional and leave the fans hanging on the verge of the bands first ever world tour.  I just hope more good confirmations appear out of this.

That's really sad news, still young...it's sad when cancer takes any life let alone someone who's only 49.  R.I.P Munetaka, one hell of a drummer and a legend too.   So sad.

Other Bands / Re: Enough with the word "Jrock"!
« on: November 29, 2008, 04:33:05 PM »
I don't really mind either way besides most to the "J-" music I listen too is better than the western stuff that comes out nowadays.  Why the heck can't we have a band like Versailles being popular here instead of things like Snow Patrol (yawn).  I think that tag also applies mainly to bands that sing in japanese in most peoples eyes too, since I like Galneryus and though some are in japanese most of the songs and albums I have are in english which has lead them to be seen as just power metal.

You just have to put up with it, someone hit the nail on the head when they mentioned the difference in music and the "ching-chong" language, some people just look down their noses at things that are foreign regardless of how talented or good the bands are.

Whilst I see why the j-rock tag isnt good for the music it is an easy (and lazy) way to just say you like Japanese Rock Music.

General chat / Re: What would you expect from a new album/ep/single?
« on: November 27, 2008, 07:07:09 PM »
Oh, same here hehe - at least for those who were not able to go to the concert.

As for hide: There is seperately material of him that will be released soon - so why doing that for X's releases then... no, sorry... that band isn't only hide's band and should never be.

I'm the opposite about Week End I much prefer the New Arrange Version mainly due to hide's new solo and the piano part, though from translations ive seen i'm not sure how well it would work in english.  It's like with Kurenai the english version to me sounds a little odd, it sort of hints that it was originally written to be sung in japanese from the start.

It would be nice to hear some new stuff on there rather than just remakes, perhaps some using some other old hide tracks in there to create something cool.

The Concerts / Re: Ever had a dream with X Japan?
« on: November 27, 2008, 03:27:52 PM »
A while back I had a dream I hung out with Yoshiki in Manchester (I think it was manchester anyway), it was cool just grabbing a bit to eat and just checking out the city, really sucked when I woke up and realised it was just a dream.

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: PARIS SHOW IS OFFICIALLY POSTPONED.
« on: November 27, 2008, 06:41:58 AM »
Its sort of a relief that I didn't travel and prebook everything, I was planning on going to Bercy from the UK and then back after all in the space of like 24 hours, it really would have been tiring.

We'll all totally need to sort out a big meety meet when the concert does actually happen, though im interested to see what other dates there are going to happen on the european leg.

This song does look very fun I must say, I'd almost be prepared to buy Rock Band 2 just to have this song lol

If the rumors are right about a japanese version over in the east then hopefully there will be more songs up for optional download off it.

Drawings / Re: A picture about Yoshiki
« on: November 25, 2008, 10:14:04 PM »
Now, back on the subject of X-J's post's last part, I seriously don't believe the explosion background is allusive to any japanese world war thingy. It would be too witty. I don't think they'd bother linking the two.

I think the picture is funny, myself. It doesn't offends me. It is clearly a stupid hyperbolic parody.

I was going to say the same thing, I'm pretty sure that its not meant to be a link to anything like Hiroshima or world war related things and it is simply playing off the situation we have just had.  It is rather mean but at the same time it is only a joke.  We don't know what happened behind the scenes and what lead to what, all we can do is assume.

I can however see how this could in directly be taken the wrong way by certain people, I sort of noticed the blast and did in my mind link it to ww2 but as I said im sure thats not how the joke is meant to be taken.  It's quite funny in a sense but at the same time it seems a bit of an obvious joke to make at the same time imo.
