I noticed that in very much X Japan songs, Violet UK and other Yoshiki's songs the color blue is in it.

That intrigues me. Does Blue have a special meaning in Japan or in English that I don't know???

Red is also used often, and it's probably about "violence" and "love" :D

Blue could refer to sadness and beauty, but I'm not quite sure about that.

Thanks!

For red I knew, but blue, it seemed strange for me to associate blue with certain feelings, I've guessed it must be sadness, but it sounds still strange for me to 'feeling blue' for sadness. Thank you.

I think he talked about that in an interview, about Violet UK. If I remember correctly (I think so :P) red was for anger and blue for sadness. yep.

...When the morning begins
I'll be in the next chapter...

blue is for sadness but that's deeper. that's inside your mind, you don't necessairly see it on the face of the person.  That's where the Blues music comes from. It is a feeling of sadness.

There is also this saying according to which aristocrats have blue blood... I always thought that's where the title of 'Blue Blood' came from.

I'm at my wits' end.

Yoshiki does feel he's a princess :P but judging from the album contents, Blue Blood means something more like "sad blood".

"Blue" can also refer to a certain sexual condition, "blue balls" or "being very very aroused"
....

Might explain some stuff about Yo. <3

To be on topic: Yoshiki does like puns on his titles, maybe learned it from hide.

We've gone too far POSTING PICS OF WHAT YOSHIKI'S ACTUALLY DONE?
We've gone too far discussing his lyrics?
Go bowdlerize somewhere else!

Sorry if I offended anyone. And sorry for the offtopicness.

Anyway, back ontopic:
I read up on some of the multiple meanings of the colour blue, and came across this rather interesting text:

Quote
Blue symbolism associates blue with freedom, strength and new beginnings. Blue skies are emblematic of optimism and better opportunities. Blue is the color of loyalty and faith. Blue is power. Blue is also the color of protection. Blue symbolism is nearly universal in meaning. As a result, blue is used in national flags and symbols around the world, including the flag of the United Nations.

Something that happens rarely is said to happen "once in a blue moon." Blue symbolism runs the gamut of emotionally-packed meanings. Something that is the best of its kind is "blue ribbon." A person born of royalty or in the upper class is a "blue blood." However, when someone is depressed, they have the "blues."

Very interesting. Especially since two of Yoshiki's gemstones would be the amethyst (which has similar symbolism) and the Blue Topaz. :)

YOU, MiscastDice, have posted Bullshit - and I do what I believe is right and not what someone who's not able to have a moderate conversation wants to tell me.
I didn't offend anyone, nor deleted I anything someone wrote here - I am just a user of this forum and asked for a bit more respect to the band we all love. As I personally would prefer it to feel myself compfortable here.

Everywhere there flows...... BLUE BLOOD!!

Well, Well, Well...Interesting all those replies. Even the photo's.  :D
Thanks for telling me the meaning of 'feeling blue'.
In dutch we say sometimes that we are blue (literally ) because of having very cold, but that is the only meaning I know in our language.

well in slovenian we have 2 words for color blue, both have kinda 2 meanings, 1st modra, and the adjective is the same as for wise, the other is plava, wish is the same as 3 person singular of verb to swim, but i don't think there is any conections with yoshiki's blue

in japanese kanji for blue 青 does have more meanings than blue, the other meanings being green, young and inexperienced

but there stil is an option that "blue" just sounds cool or mystic for yoshiki and that's why he used it

i think he explained it already many times: blue in contrast to red, meaning sadness, melancholy
red on the other hand means anger, rage, hate

Everywhere there flows...... BLUE BLOOD!!

Very sorry if my comment came across as insensitive.

Well, it's pretty clear what he means when he uses the word blue but there's no harm in offering alternative interpretations to the word if someone feels like it. ;) Besides, I find the different symbolisms/meanings pretty interesting. It's always good to learn new things!

Blue is the color of sky, sea, and space is infinite (as opposed to yellow, earth-mother, physical, female) the sky-father, metaphysical, male.
Blue is the coldest of the three primary colors, and it generally dominates the sense of hearing, is coupled with ear... in Italy there isn't a particular meaning for it... it's similar to the german meaning (that we are blue because of having cold!)!

I want the meaning of my life
Do I try to live? Do I try to love?

In french,we say something like that too... when someone's got a bruise, you say that they've got "a blue". Funny to know that french and slovenian have the same kind of idioms xD

I'm at my wits' end.

Thank you Ann for sending me this Topic.

Blue is used in portuguese for describing someone who just got Scared (altough pale is also used) or sea sick.

In Latin languages (portuguese, spanish, ect...), Blue blood as an adjective is given to those who belong to the royalty or to those that demand many royalties or stuff.

The fact that I am a Copy of so many that I admire, makes me feel unique.
