Judging by a site whose link I just discovered I'm unable to post yet (:P) it's around 6:30am in Tokyo right now, so about 14, 15 hours. I forget when the show starts exactly.
And I agree, awesome thread! Can't wait for the first pics of the band performing together to pop up. :wink:

I'm not sure if this is already being planned or yet to be considered..
But with Guns 'N Roses for instance, there were many fans at the shows who sent updates (where possible) of the setlist and noteworthy occurrences on stage to someone on the forum via TXT/SMS who would then post 'live updates' as the show was happening.
If anyone knows someone personally who is going to any of the shows, you should try to arrange this.. Just a thought.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe that's where they're hiding the guest guitarists. Instead of having them on-stage with the band or behind a curtain, they're kinda both.
And I'm glad to see they're still playing hide's songs.

Yeah, the show as absolutely stunning. It would make sense if they ended it with art of life, but still the ending felt kinda sudden. Especially with the staff having to CARRY yoshiki out. :shock: Hope it's not something serious...
Well they did that on X Japan Returns DVD, but here it seemed so real.
As it's night of "Destruction", it could have a "sense" to finish it like that. I'm really hoping it's part of the show.
Art Of Life stopped before Yoshiki piano solo.
It's weird cause the other member didn't go to see what happened to Yoshiki (so maybe it was part of the show, which I really hope).

Night Of Destruction, Yoshiki destructed himself. Maybe they consider more those show like ONE big show and not 3 differents shows.
Me and a friend were talking about that a few minutes after Yoshiki collapsed and suggested the same thing, that it was planned.
X is all about infusing drama with their concerts, what better way to end Night of Destruction with the show it's self being destroyed? And with tomorrow nights concert being Night of Madness, what better way to look mad than playing a concert the night after collapsing? ;) Though yeah, Yoshiki really was exhausted no doubt about it.
As for Fortus, I think my earlier suggestion (the guests besides Sugizo playing behind a curtain) might have been accurate. There were two guitars playing every song, and it sounded like they were really being played instead of back tracked. Wouldn't be the first time that happened.
If it wasn't planned though, I sure will feel LIKE a dick (wow what a typo) re-reading this post. :?
Most of the guitars were taken from live shows, I recognized some of the exact same mistakes hide did ;P

I hope it was an act. But I'm not going to go assuming it was, until I see some kind of proof. I would rather believe it was real and end up being "tricked", pulled along on another X emotional rollercoaster-- what is X, if not drama?-- than withold belief and later find out that it was real.
So, with that said.
I'm not going to say things like "be careful, Yoshiki", because that's not the point. He knows what he does is dangerous and he knows what the price could be-- that's part of it. That's part of his (ironically...) "Art of Life". I have more respect for his dedication to his art now than ever before. This guy... don't know how to say it really. People like this don't come along every day. He's truly one in a million. Is he insane for doing stuff like this at his age? Maybe. Shame more people aren't insane like that, the world would be a better place for it.
I truly hope he's alright. I'm glad I don't have any work to do at my job today, because I'm sure I'll be checking constantly for news and updates on him.

They started this show with The Last Song ! That was how the Last Live ended. So maybe tomorrow they'll start with Art Of Life.

Night of Destruction.. he ended the concert that way.
Tomorrow is Night of Madness, where they might do a very insane concert.
Then Night of Creation.. It’s like a starting point of the reunited X Japan. A point for them to walk further on the path.
Lets wait and see tomorrow. Until now no cancellation or delay announcement has been made which is good cuz it makes the assumptions looking more solid.

Perhaps the gues appearences where meant, that every day another guitarplayer takes the stage (but I don't believe it really either *g*). It's great to see how much fun Pata and Toshi are having before "Say Anything" or in general what a good time they seem to have together on stage.

Quality isn't perfect, especially when a song was cut in the videos, there was a little part of the songs missing each time he cut... but well, it's better than nothing I think !

No matter if it was planned or not (seems it was not), I think it would have been a cool move from the X Japan camp if they would have kept the people informed with a statement like "Yoshiki is fine, everything rolling, keep rockin" or "We will give you mor infos tomorrow". But no word (or at least no word for most of the public), that sucks imho.

I'm starting to think it was planned, because I'm thinking that obviously Night of Recklessness/Madness would surely contain mad songs that
the crowd go crazy to, for example: X, Orgasm, ect. So if they are planning to play those on the night of madness, they wouldn't have wanted
to play them lastnight. Also starting out the concert with the AOL piano solo would represent Night of Madness really well.

They delete rumors, discourage speculation, etc. I understand why, but it makes the conversations less interesting. :P
I also would like some official statements from X or their management regarding what happened... I'm still worried for Yoshiki, myself.
But yeah, no matter what, good luck and best wishes to Yoshiki (and Toshi, Pata, Heath) for the next shows.

About speculating, I don't like speculation when it goes to far. I mean here we're just talking about what happened to a show that most of us have seen live online or on YouTube. We know what we're talking about. But, due to the lack of information, we're worried about yoshiki so we're trying to feel better by hopine it was something planned. I can't see what's bad in that...

Thanks man! But unfortunately, even that seems to be giving me problems... :? I've been trying to download the same 10-minute Art of Life youtube clip for hours now. Seriously. I can get a few minutes of it (which takes forever...) and then it stops downloading and I have to reload and start all over again. Man, it sucks. I haven't even gotten to the part where Yoshiki faints yet! Furthest I've ever gotten is like 5:55.
Well, I'll keep trying... and I'll keep checking for new clips on youtube, in case someone uploads just the fainting part.
At this rate the official DVD will probably be out before I see the whole concert. :P

"I.V." sounded amazing live, especially with the piano intro.

My greatest respect to all the band members, their performance was outstanding. They are all in great musical form. My hero PATA is starting to look a little bit like Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin guitarist), no? :D

For starters the man is 10 years older, and hasn't sung any of these songs for a long time. Sure his voice got a bit off during I.V, but thats the first time they've ever played that song, and it was a good performance. For the rest, his singing was great.

I just read a post on other forum of a guy who went to the concert he confirm Yoshiki give a press conference after the show and he was fine.
He confirm the staff got tee shirt with "World tour crew" so we can imagine a tour i hope in europe and usa !

I've heard Toshi far worse then tonight, he did brilliantly here.

I agree completely. I think that his voice was excellent for the concert even if some parts were off a tad. It must have been expected considering the length of time he last sung those songs and sung that style of music. I can't wait for a DVD release, I just hope that the whole concert will be released and not just extracts for a documentry of them reuniting. Anyone know anything about DVD releases or any rumors?

As for Toshi's "bad voice" I also think his ear piece or whatever it is to hear the other instruments was screwing up, I saw him quite a few times during the concert putting his hands to his ear looking confused like something was wrong with it.

Well, I guess that slowness is originated by their age. They're all in their 40s by now. Your body is not the same at 40 that it was at 30 or 20. A life of singing (and Toshi's been singing for over 20 years now) can quite damage your voice. It doesn't sound as clear and energic as it did before, of course. And I'm not even gonna talk of Yoshiki. A life spent behind a drumkit also has its effects. Notice he's got lesions everywhere; his neck, wrists, back... That is quite normal when you put your body through intense activities for a rather long period of time.
Notice that most ballerinas, soccer players & gymnasts end their careers straight after they hit 30. Why? They may be great, but their body begins to loose the grace, strenght, resistance... I don't even need to go that far. The Rolling Stones are not the same as they were 20 years ago, are they? :D

The X members isnt as old as the Rolling Stones members. I just feel there is no energy, like not enough rehearsal. You should be able to play without mistakes even you are a little older. Anyway i know X still got it, and i hope they will be better on the next shows.

I expect perfection, otherwise there is no point for a reunion. Who want X to become like The Rolling Stones? Better stop when you are at the top than continue when you got nothing more to give. And like i said, i hope and believe X got more to give, just this concert wasnt good enough for being X.

So far I've only seen Art of Life, but I liked it a lot more than I expected to. Granted, I came in with perhaps lower expectations than a lot of you, being an "X > X Japan" guy.
Alright, it wasn't "my" X, but it was fucking cool.
I don't personally care about mistakes: I'm much more into passion than accuracy. And that was more passion than I expected. Well done, X Japan. Who knows, maybe once I've seen the whole thing, or once the excitement of it having just happened wears off, it won't seem quite so great. But right now? Hell, I'm excited.

Really, I don't get why people complain about the fact that X is reuniting at all.
Give them time, Rome was not built in a day and neither was X Japan. They are not mp3 files in winamp, of course they won't be perfect everytime they perform.
Sure, some of their performance CAN be improved, but there's no need for people to bitch and bitch and bitch about it!
Sheesh...
Edit: and again, the equalizer plays as much a part in how the music sounds. (Check the difference between Last Live DVD and Perfect Tv version on youtube for example)

I imagine that even without ten years between now and when they last played these songs, the emotions and thoughts going through their heads are more than enough to distract them ... if I were them I'd be a mess xD
I have full faith in them and despite age or problems [why the hell is Yoshiki not wearing his braces!? ><] they have the energy and sure as hell don't know when to take a rest [obviously ... *rolls eyes at Yoshiki*] and are there to give us everything they have! And I appreciate that more than anything.
So it's offical that Yoshiki claims he's alright? I saw on JaME that he said so in the press conference afterwards.

Clarification:
The above post was not solely aimed at Rafaell, it was just a response to a number of people who really had nothing better to do other than complain about their performance (in youtube/other forums - jpopforum for one, etc).
I have no qualms about criticism, it is the complaining that gets to me.
And yes, I do believe that once X has more time to sort out technical difficulties, more time to rehearse etc. They will be as good as they were.

To the people who complain about mistakes, lack of accuracy, bad voice, lack of energy whatsoever... No offense or anything. Everyone's got their points and oppinions. BUT, I'm sorry but I'll have to say it:
A piece of ART is much more than perfection. You know why? Because humans are the only kind of life that's not perfect. Irrational animals are not able to commit mistakes; they're instinctive, their minds are programmed to act a certain way. Humans, on the other hand, have a different characteristic; fragility. And it's from that fragility, that lack of perfection that something else is originated: creativity. The ability to break nature's rules. The ability to create. And when you create, you should never let yourself be guided by perfection stereotypes. If you do, you won't be any more interesting than a dog. There you go. You should let yourself be lead by passion. Without being afraid of messing it all up. Sometimes it happens. But it's okay; you gave all of you, you did what your heart told you to, you did things with love.
Sorry for all of this phylosophycal talk. I know it can be considered a bit off topic. But what I mean is simple: In my opinion, there was passion, there were feelings shown in this performance. Perfect or not.

NEWS, about Yoshiki.
(well, it brings nothing new, still, I think this adds some more details)
I found this in http://hoshi-nishimura.livejournal.com/32855.html (he's got the links there, too.)
YOSHIKI which lost consciousness on a stage understood that the state that consciousness did not become clear led to the performance end back.
According to position office, YOSHIKI regained consciousness after the live broadcasting end and held an interview for the overseas media.
However, consciousness becomes it dimly again in the seat and left it off, but it is said that I am unconscious again and fell into it in the car of the return.
I invite a doctor to the dressing room of Tokyo Dome and dealt with treatment, but, as for the holding of the live broadcasting on 29th, it becomes not yet decided it afterwards without consciousness recovering as of 1:00 in the middle of the night of 28th.
The translation is bad, but it's enough to understand that he hadn't regained conciousness by the time of the publishing of those last news.
Does anyone know anything else?

Even Yoshiki was laughing and smiling when he was destroying his drum set! :P :P It's been a long time since the last time he did it, right.
And who wouldn't be charged with so many hide there! I really love the hologram & the tube screen on hide's spot. Such a lovely & sweet gesture!
Talking about the hologram, soon after Yoshiki announced that they'll have the concert on Spring 2008, I discussed about it with my friend. I was talking i'd be great if there'll be hide's hologram. And they really did it!!!!!

Guys, I'm pretty worried.
A midday article has been translated and it turned out that Yoshiki might not have regained conciousness so far. By deduction, it could be considered that he slipped into a coma.
BUT this totally UNNOFICIAL. The result of rough translations and logic. Please do NOT go spam everywhere that he's in coma or anything. I'm just posting this to keep you as informed as I can get.
Please wait for official anouncements before taking your conclusions.

It seems that those articles were published a while ago, though. The first two mention that it's 1 AM on the night of the 28th and he hasn't recovered-- but right now in Japan it's 2:15 PM on the 29th. 13 hours later. So it's entirely possible he may be conscious by now... 13 hours have passed since the articles. (Has there really been no news during that entire 13 hours?)
But yeah, if anyone has any Yoshiki news-- anything at all-- PLEASE post.

I'm heading for the dome now to get my other two tickets and check out the merc. I really don't think this show will be cancelled. If he really was in unconscious for the whole night I trust it would've been cancelled already, so I agree with mr radical, no news probably means good news.
