Dunno if you notice that: the last part of Tears (the Yoshiki speaking part) has changed... Yoshiki being older than his father now, the lyrics changed from "One day I'm gonna be older than you" to "Now I'm older than you". That just chilled me, it's so sad but just awesome!
Already changed in March :P

hi there

Oh yeah you're right! Too bad I've never noticed it during the reunion concerts

..Close your eyes and I'll kill you in the rain...

Too bad it was so short, this show really packed some serious energy. Toshi is back in shape for sure and the fact that they played a smaller venue probably helped to convey that sense of intimacy.... it just felt more like "X back in the days" then the reunion concerts.

I'm really looking forward to watching their future performances. Clearly they can still rock ! It was obvious they were having a great time too.  I would have shorten the insanely long Orgasm bit (which fitted) in favor of another song or 2 though.  No Without you/New Song somewhat disappointed me.

Now, less exaggerated screaming from Toshi and a longer setlist and you've got one hell of a freakin show :)

hehe... don't get me wrong, I like to see him jump around and go crazy but as other mentioned, sometimes he over does it a bit..

in any ways, it is amazing to see them on stage playing again.. who would have thought... seriously... more than 10 years later. Wow :)

Btw,
to me,
after watching this countdown gig it felt more like they're officially back..the reunion one in March didn't really gave a feeling as strong as this countdown live.

However I do not like much the fact of letting the crowd sings chorus (in Rutsy Nail and Tears), he let it sing too much in my opinion.

agreed!

After watching the whole gig,

I was totally amazed with what Toshi could do to his voice.
I would never had thought that he'd ever perform with his husky & raspy voice again.
Not that he couldn't but never thought he'd change his style of vocal to suit the older rock songs. Never thought I'd hear Blue Blood again... especially with that sorta voice!

It was pretty much the first time we heard his voice like that ever since his started to use the more clear & high tone voice, which was like...1994-95?

Like mentioned above, I hope in the coming concerts, he'd be able to control it more so that he doesn't do it for the ballads songs. I'm sure he's noticed it from this gig..

Also, would have loved to hear WEEK END or maybe SADISTIC DESIRE with that voice!

^ Totally agree! A really old song, Vanishing Vision era, like I'll Kill You or Vanishing Love, would also be amazing to hear live with Toshi's voice as it is now. I was surprised at the improvement, as I'm sure most of everyone here is. Can't wait to see what develops in the future as well.

If you could have told me anything...you would have known what love is...

hmm, 目黒鹿鳴館 would be better though. it'd be cool to see them perform at 目黒鹿鳴館 again D:
a crowd of 250 people would really be intimate =D

Toshi's voice and screams were so awesome! Overdone? No way! I almost feel slightly cheated (in a good way) for having gone to the March gigs when they perform like this shortly after! In my world Toshi has never had a better voice on Rusty Nail than here. Now I just want to see some less audience-singing and more Toshi (maybe even some old songs while we're at it? ;)).

i watched the full show, its very short for 3 hours show. its very funny to see toshi play drum, lol.

a question for everyone, is that possible to sing in  clear high tone voice after sing with  rasp voice for almost 1 hour (like what toshi did to sing all the rock song in countdown live, and then sing tears with clear high tone)???  if not possible, i understand why toshi cant sing tears in clear high tone.

Of course you could still sing with a clear voice. Ok, I couldn't sing at all after singing with a rough voice for an hour, but Toshi sure could.

Well don't overestimate Toshi. One hour of singing like Toshi did, it's even hard for him to get out a clear voice later.

Personally, I like that he's got his 'roughness' back, but I think he needs to work on it a bit more. It's not that easy to get the right tone with screaming like that and while it might sound awesome in live then listening to a recording of it later, you notice the parts where he's a bit off (not much tho, quarter tone or so). Might just be my bias against singing, I've been singing myself for over half my life.

This is my administrator color.
