General chat / Appropriateness of Yoshiki Mobile statements

This is something I've thought about each time X has made a screwup (which, sadly, has been somewhat of "all the time" lately). They make a press announcement with vague reasons such as "for various reasons" or "for reasons outside of our control", and consequently, perhaps some days later, release a Yoshiki Mobile message stating the actual reason. Often the vague reasons leads to anger among fans because it can make it sound like "oh fuck were we supposed to this also, ah damn lets cancel", while the actual reasons are (at least moreso) justified and lead to a better understanding, and most importantly, a better view of X Japan's image.
However, as YM is a subscription service, this information does not get out to everyone, and I believe this has a very adverse effect on X Japan's public image. What do you think? Is it common among artists to send information that relevant exclusively through their fanclub?
