Well, that's just an early track listing. http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/7510626/a/Saw+4.htm
This website also mentions X. And an extended version will be released too in November.

Did I understand this site wrong or is the soundtrack (the unextended) going to be released 23 Oct? Because then we will know pretty soon if X is on it as the track listing says! :D

Maybe the song "IV" is currently being recorded?

I doubt it. The film is already finished and is probably being printed onto film reels/being distributed as it comes out in 2 weeks. There's no way they'd leave it this late.

I have a feeling that IF it is definately an X Japan song (and not a SKIN/VUK/Yoshiki only song) that it might be an older, unreleased song? I still find it hard to believe that they could reunite and record a new song with NO-ONE knowing anything about it.

Or it could be an old song but with new english lyrics,
(Wouldn't an english version of SCARS fit for a movie like Saw IV? Just the name... ;) or what am I talking about, it should be SADISTIC DESIRE! :P)
I think it's harder to believe that they've recorded a completley new song just for the Saw IV soundtrack though... It would be much more logical if they'd record a new song (and kept it secred) to release it as a single, or a b-side to Without You. :)

Maybe it's just an old song, without anything new recorded. Saw several soundtracks with songs that were released before. It would be awsome to hear something new but I doubt it'll be a new X-Japan song.

Yes, it's a very good song, but you have to agree that it would go well with the mood of the movie? ;)

I would recommend starting from the first Saw film and watching them all in order. Its not essential, but everything would make more sense.

And they are quite gruesome films so if you have a weak stomach, I wouldnt recommend watching 2 or 3 (and from the clips i've seen, 4 aswell). 1 was the least gruesome and focused more on the story (because they didnt have a big budget)

X Japan will NOT be on the Saw 4 OST CD release. I'm not saying it wont be on the film, but it wont be on the CD.

http://www.artistsaddiction.com/Saw4Soundtrack.htm

They are one of the companies listed on the production notes (along with Extasy Music and 901 Highland Music) and that is one of the official places to buy it. Neither X Japan nor Dir En Grey are on it.

Its likely that X Japan will still be on the film (probably the first song when the end credits start) but we wont be hearing the song on CD. No doubt someone will record it from the cinema and get an mp3 file posted

edit: Although that is the american release. If it gets released in Japan it might have different tracks. I doubt it though as the OST's are usually the same worldwide

That's the early track listing, not the final one   But i'm saying the same as Kyubi, thre's no better (and official source) than the Production notes.

And imo it can't be an old song, old X song released through Extasy are the ones from Vanishing Vision, but neither one of that songs were released under 901 Highland Music...

Not all OST's are the same. HYDE's song COUNTDOWN and Gackt songs have been used for japanese version of american movies as songs.

I can do some research to give you movie titles as examples, if you want.

Thats the final US tracklisting. It is one of the companies involved in the production, why would they put a tracklisting that isnt the final one 2 weeks before release? Like I said, i'm not saying X arent on the movie, they just arent on the US CD Release.

And it can be an older one. If they recorded a song and didnt release it on any album, Yoshiki/X own the rights to said song, not Columbia/Sony/whoever. It could have been a song that was recorded for the Dahlia album but never made the final cut.. or it could be a new one. We'll have to wait and see.

Menacia: I said USUALLY the same, not always the same :P

X JAPAN WILL NOT APPEAR IN THE SOUNDTRACK CD
(but yes in the film)

First of all, we got this:
Quote
Bravewords reports that Artists’ Addiction Records will issue the Saw IV Original Soundtrack on CD and as a digital release on October 23rd, with an extended digital release to follow in November.

Quote
It should be noted that the Saw IV Original Soundtrack is itself an “inspired by” collection. Aside from 'Just Begun', an excerpt form Charlie Clouser’s score, the songs comprising this companion piece are not heard in the film; instead, their selection was inspired by the film.

Can I repeat?
the songs comprising this companion piece are not heard in the film :o
Source

That's why some tracklistings with X Japan on it were removed, because X Japan is not appearing in this release.

But the most interesting thing is that in the Saw movies, the song which was listed in the production notes used to be the main theme and were always released in extended version coming one month later.

So, we have:
- Magazines saying that X Japan would perform the main theme for a Hollywood movie released in November.
- Saw 4 is released in November in Japan.
- X Japan is listed in the production notes of Saw 4.
- Songs listed in the production notes in other Saw films were later released. This time is in November.

hi there

darkcat21: Thats what I said. X Japan might still be on the film but they wont be on the soundtrack :P

The past 3 Saw soundtracks have been "inspired by".. although Saw 1 was a mix. It had like 6 "inspired by" songs that werent in the film and about 8 songs that were from the original score. The Saw 2 and 3 soundtracks were all inspired by excluding 1 song on each which was from the film, I assumed the 4th would be the same.
